Social media is widely used by all turfies. Has it had a positive or negative impact? I'd be interested to find out how people use the various platforms.

Social media is great for staying in touch with friends, however, it allows every Tom, Dick & Harry from anywhere in the World the option of taking a swipe at groundsmen within the first few minutes of play starting. Often these people hide behind made up names.

Information sharing can only be a good thing and social media has emerged as the easiest way of having questions answered or thoughts shared.

Social media is a good thing in my opinion. We use it to share information to the fans and hopefully at the same time raising the profile of Groundsmanship to a wider audience. If used correctly there’s no reason why it should be feared

From a business perspective it's a great way to engage with our audience and widen it. Not just for selling, but communicating with relevant people and businesses within it. Like with anything you have to be careful with how it's used but it can continue to have a massive impact. In addition, it can give a company a more human, personal side which I think a lot of people respond well to
  6. Social media will have positives and negatives. I think there are more positives than negatives as it allows us as a community to interact sharing ideas and give help to each if needed. It also shows the people how much work goes into getting things ready for what ever use they need. Yes you will get the idiots who will make negative comments but you get that off people off the street

Depending on how you use it, Social media can benefit you greatly. Sometime last year we've set up a FB page about our Greenkeeping team and i've noticed that players seem more understanding towards us, the things we do and greenkeeping in general. I try to run the page with positive messages and a few ''competitions'' from time to time (e.g, Where's this picture taken?. Ofcourse pretty photos taken around the course fit in quite nicely.
