An exciting opportunity has arisen for a grounds and gardens operative to work for The Grammar School at Leeds, the largest independent day school in the north of England, based at Alwoodley Gates (Leeds 17).
GSAL’s immaculate landscape of over 120 acres, includes a recent installation of a new 3G rugby pitch, grass sports pitches, hard and artificial playing surfaces as well as gardens and landscape areas. The successful candidates will work flexibly within a small but enthusiastic team and will be expected to play a full part in the maintenance of the grounds and gardens areas, the continued development of good quality sporting facilities and the general marking and maintenance of the sports pitches.
Ideally candidates will have previous experience of working in a similar environment with a proven track record of grounds maintenance, sports pitch maintenance and repair, and hold a recognised horticultural qualification. Candidates must be capable of working well on their own and as part of a wider team. Either tractor driving experience or a tractor driving qualification will be a distinct advantage.

Permanent, full time, full year
This role is a full time position, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus additional hours with overtime being available when required, especially in the summer months, plus Saturdays to be worked on a rota, 1 in 4 weeks as additional overtime.
GS3 points 14-18 £18,672-£20,541 per annum, plus overtime circa £1,000 p.a
