Vandals Target Larkhall Golf Club: Police are on the lookout for witnesses after the greens at Larkhall Golf Club suffered from a spate of vandalism over the weekend.
Six of the greens on the nine-hole golf course at Burnhead Road, were damaged during the incident between July 29 and 30.
Sergeant Jon McLeish said: “Six of the greens on the nine-hole golf course were damaged but due to their location it is unlikely that many members of the public would have seen it happening.
“This obviously has had an impact on the staff and those using the course and will of course have a financial implication for the club. If there is anyone with information about who was responsible please contact Larkhall Police Office or call Police 101.”
Alistair McKinnon, Head of Facilities, Waste and Grounds Services, said: “We were disappointed to learn of the vandalism to the greens at Larkhall and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the police. The council’s grounds team, which is responsible for maintenance of the greens, have been working with Larkhall Golf Club to prioritise repairs which were completed earlier today (Wednesday, August 1).”
