Paul Burgess Is The First Man To Lay Eyes On UCLA

Paul Burgess Is The First Man To Lay Eyes On UCLA: The first man to lay his eyes on Real Madrid’s pre-season training venue from the Los Blancos camp was head groundsman Paul Burgess on Monday, checking the condition of the UCLA pitches ahead of the team’s workouts.

Traveling over early with assistant Adrian Romero, Burgess tends to the surfaces at both Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, which is being relaid for next season, and Valdebebas.

Straight from the airport, the grounds staff arrived to assure that the North Athletic Field is in perfect condition at the California university for Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Pintus to get to work on.

Also already at UCLA are Jose Mourinho and Manchester United, who are using the Olympic sized Drake Stadium facilities a mere 200 metres from Real’s base on campus.
