New Holland At SALTEX 2017

New Holland to showcase mini crawler excavators at this year’s Saltex event: New Holland will showcase its E18C ROPS mini excavator, from the company’s agricultural construction range, at this year’s Saltex event on 1st and 2nd November.

The New Holland agricultural construction range includes mini crawler excavators, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders and skid steer loaders. These multi-purpose machines are ideal for busy landscaping and amenity contractors, and are available with a variety of purpose-made attachments. New Holland dealers can also supply further accessories for specialist operations.

New Holland At SALTEX 2017

The mini crawler excavator range features seven models with engine power ranging from 16.8 to 64.7hp and lift capacity between 1.7 to 6 tonnes, Compact dimensions are matched with high performance to maintain power and versatility when working in difficult-to-access areas.

Constant hydraulic flow means New Holland’s mini crawler excavators can power a variety of demanding attachments including soil augers, flail mowers for hedges and verges, as well as cutterbars and saws. The boom and dipper offers power arm versatility with the ability to work hydraulic shears, breakers and stump grinders.

The hydraulic quick coupler allows hands-free attaching and release of buckets, and safer switching between large, heavy attachments. Mechanical quick lock attachment brackets are also available.

The optional Object Handling Kit enables all models of mini crawler excavators to raise heavy suspended loads using a lifting hook on the bucket linkage, reducing the need to bring in additional equipment and complying with health and safety guidelines.

Powerful traction matched to a low centre of gravity provides excellent stability across difficult terrain.  The dozer blade, with its unique concave design allows earth to fall forward as it is pushed and features excellent geometry for levelling and grading. When excavating, the blade can be lowered for stability.

Designed around the operator, the cab’s slim frame pillars ensure excellent all-round visibility, with a good view of the boom and dipper. The E18C is available with a choice of canopy or cab, and all variants within the mini crawler excavator range are ROPS roll-over, TOPS tip-over and FOPS falling-object compliant to ISO standards. All models operate at low noise and vibration levels, allowing for extended work periods with no compromise to operator safety.

Visitors to Saltex can find out more about the agricultural construction range of machines, including the full mini crawler range, on New Holland’s stand (K189). The range is available through selected New Holland dealers across the UK and Ireland.

STIHL at SALTEX 2017

STIHL at SALTEX 2017: STIHL will be attending SALTEX this year with some impressive new tools to talk about, including the expanded Pro Cordless range.

The introduction of a new AR 1000 Lithium-Ion backpack battery will be welcome news to those who need to use STIHL’s cordless products for an extended period of time – the new battery weighs in at only 5.5kg and has a slim ergonomic design making it more comfortable over longer periods of use.

STIHL at SALTEX 2017

The AR 1000 also comes with a detachable rain cover, a harness with a waist and chest strap and a USB port to allow users to charge devices such as mobile phones. These features all come as standard with the Recommended Retail Price of £630 including VAT.

When used in conjunction with the AL 500 charger, the AR 1000 backpack battery can be charged in as little as two hours to minimise downtime. The AR 1000 combines perfectly with the other new tools in STIHL’s Lithium-Ion PRO Cordless product range to offer contractors the durability and longevity needed to handle the toughest jobs.

STIHL will also be featuring some of these new cordless tools at SALTEX, including the FSA 130 and 130 R brush cutters, which are the cutting edge of cordless trimmer technology. These powerful but lightweight brushcutters are specifically designed for working on large areas of thick grass at length. The FSA 130 is a master at clearing large patches of grass and scrub quickly and efficiently thanks to the bike handle, whilst the FSA 130 R features a loop handle which makes it perfect for use in tight spaces.

Like the new PRO Cordless hedge trimmers, the HSA 94 R and 94 T, the FSA 130 range has been designed from the ground up to be as effective as our professional petrol tools. They are capable of tackling much longer or thicker grass at full power than their PRO Cordless predecessors and can run for up to 380 minutes using the new AR 1000 battery. They also feature the latest version of STIHL’s power select system to quickly adjust the blade speed with the flick of a trigger, so you don’t waste battery power when you don’t need to.

The latest PRO Cordless blower, the BGA 100, will also be on display. Perfect for use in noise sensitive areas, the hand held blower is extremely light and quiet, and comes with three power stages plus a boost mode, for tackling the most difficult tasks.

All of these tools and more will be on display on the STIHL Stand at SALTEX with STIHL experts on hand to answer questions about the new technology. Find out more information at www.stihl.co.uk.

SALTEX 2017 Launches Innovation Award

SALTEX 2017 Launches Innovation Award: SALTEX 2017 is set to play host to the most technologically advanced-equipment showcase in grounds management. With this in mind SALTEX event organisers have decided to hold, for the very first time, an Innovation Award – and visitors will get the chance to see every entry at the show.

SALTEX 2017 Launches Innovation Award

Here’s a snapshot of some of the exciting entries:

Campey Turf Care Systems has entered three products – the Genny Wren – a unique hand probe that injects air / oxygen into the ground; the Imants Topdrain 1000 – which improves surface drainage and the newly re-designed Koro FTM c/w Universe Rotor which removes all weak grasses and weeds.

Recently praised by the STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute), the SISIS Javelin Aer-Aid 1500introduces air at a rate of 88 litres (3cu.ft.) per minute at 120 PSI. It can be used all year round on fine and outfield turf.

Ahead of its production date, M Lloyd Engineering Ltd has entered the Rotastar star excavator mounted screening bucket which allows the groundsman to create the material he needs when he needs it.

Green technology appears to be a familiar theme at this year’s show and with current emission laws being tightened combined with the increasing cost of fuel, Demon International has entered the LPG Engine, which offers the market a green alternative to petrol. Powered by lithium battery technology the updated 2017 Infinicut  from MTD Specialty comes equipped with a programmable 3 position switch which means that the mowing clip rate machine can be adapted to suit different conditions at the flick of a switch.

The brand new BAX1500 from EGO Power+ removes the weight of the battery for cordless hand held equipment while the new Pellenc ULB1500 battery powers a host of grounds maintenance tools and gives users 50% more stored energy when compared to the existing largest battery on the market.

SALTEX, is of course the ideal place to see the latest in grass cutting technology and visitors will be pleased to see these two entries at the show: the new Etesia Hydro 80 MKHP4 E-Connect features a keypad and a new LCD display with key ignition replaced by the use of RFID cards for simple, touch-sensitive starting. This also means you can set up various user profiles to give particular people the right to use the machine, while it helps guard against theft. The Grillo FD900 is a completely new out-front commercial mower with hi tip grass collector. It has a permanent hydraulic 4wd and a triple blade 126cm cutter deck to reduce noise and speed grass flow.

SALTEX visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to the very best in line marking equipment this year and the show floor will provide a great opportunity to find out more about these innovative entries – the MAQA line marking machine from Fleet Line Markers; Pitchmark’s Hybrid and Rigby Taylor’s’Intelligent One.’ Furthermore, many of these unique line marking machines will be in action in the Outdoor Demonstrations area at the show.

Also situated in the Outdoor Demonstrations area at SALTEX 2017 is Groundwater Dynamics which has entered the EGRP (Energy Passive Groundwater Recharge Pump) which offers an alternative way of draining fine turf surfaces at source with no need for diverting water.

GroundsCare Products’ Turf Teq powered Edger/Trencher quickly grooms existing shrub and flower bed edges while the ZipLevel is a revolutionary survey product that can work around corners and behind trees and bushes.

With the recent introduction of technology such as hawkeye, there has been an increased need for 100% accuracy within goal post set up. Look no further than Harrod UK’s Stadium Pro Goal Height Adjusterwhich allows the user to finely adjust the height of the goalposts in situ.

Combining speed, mobility and laser precision, SIS Pitches game-changing hybrid pitch system, SISGrass Universal, is the latest addition to the company’s award-winning technology and visitors can no doubt find out more at the show.

SALTEX is the place to see the world’s latest breaking technology and there’s no exception when it comes to New Ground Technology Europe and Matrax. New Ground Technology has entered the world’s first ever TurfPrinter which allows groundsmen to effectively become artists by printing images on turf with the use of just air, while the Matrax 4×4 LD pedestrian grade turf preservation panel is the world’s first seamless transition between drivable & non-drivable turf protection.

Education is at the forefront of Sherriff Amenity’s Online Academy. This unique online learning resource provides in-depth knowledge on Sherriff Amenity’s products, as well as a wide range of areas in turf management such as turf disease, product application, seed and turf pests. Elsewhere in the amenity division, Herbatech SRL has entered Herbafer Rubisco – a unique blend of foliar nutrients and bio stimulants which retains more water molecules in the leaf, preventing osmotic dehydration and reducing transpirational wilting.

Last but certainly not least is the Gator SpeedLoad from Oregon (Blount UK Ltd). This new and exclusive trimmer and brushcutter head utilizes a disc shaped line that comes pre-wound and is heat treated for added durability. The line, which lasts up to twice as long as regular trimmer line, can be replaced in under 20 seconds.

A panel of expert judges will select the winning product and the winning company will be presented with their award on the first day of SALTEX.
