STIHL’s new battery powered pruning shears
STIHL has unveiled the powerful and sturdy ASA 140, its high-performance, battery-operated pruning shears. The ergonomically designed tool achieves effortless cutting of vines and branches with a diameter of up to 45m for clean and accurate cuts, saving professional users time and valuable energy.

The ASA 140’s blade follows finger movement to its control lever, only closing as far as the lever is pressed for precise, progressive cutting. In addition, the opening width of its blade can be adjusted to different gauges in two stages. This allows users to increase working speed when cutting thin branches.
Powered by a 36 V lithium-ion battery, when used with the recommended AP 300 S the shears deliver enough power for an entire working day, the equivalent of more than 9,000 cuts.
With a handle that fits comfortably in the hands of both right- and left-handed users, the ASA 140 has been built to provide an optimal user experience. With this, the tool can also be carried on the user’s back thanks to its handy carrying system, which avoids weighing down the user’s arms. The battery-powered shears can also be stored in a practical holster in between tasks.
Further supporting ease of use, the ASA 140’s OLED display provides information on battery charge level, the blade’s opening mode, and number of cuts made. Designed to meet the requirements of professional use, the shears carry an IPX4 rating, making them safe for use in wet conditions.
