Murray Hire Expands Först Fleet: Bristol-based equipment and tool hire business Murray Hire Centres is expanding its long-standing fleet of Först woodchipper machines, after consistently being impressed by the superiority and reliability of the machinery.

Established since 1982, Murray Hire Centres is a close-knit family run business, now employing a total of 15 staff. With 600 account customers, the business has built itself a reputation as the best one-stop shop for equipment and tool hire in Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Murray Hire Expands Först Fleet

Mandy Taylor, Managing Director of Murray Hire Centres, explains why the business has worked closely with Först since its inception and has chosen to maintain the relationship ever since.

“There are numerous factors that make the Först machinery stand out to other machines available on the market”, said Mandy. “We’ve always felt that, paired with the consistent reliability and efficiency of the machines, their smart appearance also makes them far superior against other competitors.”

At present, Murray Hire Centres has two TR6’s, one ST6 and one TR8 machine, with another TR8 currently on order. Ideal for remote locations, the TR6 is a compact and manoeuvrable chipper which comes complete with Först’s unique ForstGrip feed-roller system, allowing for even the toughest forks and limbs to be broken.

Mandy continued: “We have reaped nothing but benefits from having Först machines on our fleet. For the business as a whole, it’s allowed us to offer a full circle of products to our customers. The robust machines have been utilised in a variety of scenarios over time, from general arboriculture work through to site clearances for large company extensions, as well as housing estates.

“Despite it being a rarity to face an issue with the machines, the warranty and after-sales support offered by Först is superb, which really gives us faith in the products and provides us with the assurance we need as a business.”

N & J Tree Services Choose Först: N & J Tree Services has expanded its fleet of Först woodchippers with the purchase of two XR8’s, after noticing the high-quality standards offered by the manufacturers’ range of robust machinery.

Recognised as a leading specialist arboricultural company, N & J Tree Services provides professional tree care services for motorways, councils and general arboriculture. The business, which now employs 30 staff, has grown year on year since being established in 2000 due to its role as an efficient solutions provider for a vast number of clients across the UK.

Först Arb Show Preview

Först Arb Show Preview: Först, a leading supplier of high performance and robust woodchippers, will be at this year’s Arb Show at Westonbirt National Arboretum, where it will be showcasing its latest fuel efficient, petrol powered machines.

At the heart of the stand will be Först’s ST6 P woodchipper, a six-inch capacity machine that is powered by a 37hp V twin petrol engine, meaning the woodchipper not only weighs under 750kg, but also meets Stage V emissions regulations coming into force in 2019.

Expanded Först Range

Expanded Först Range: Först, a leading supplier of high performance and robust woodchippers, has recently expanded its petrol woodchipper range having launched the TR6P, the first and famous Först 6” tracked woodchipper, now with a fuel efficient 37hp petrol engine. 

Following the recent introduction of the hugely popular ST6P, the new TR6P utilises the same 37hp V twin petrol engine, meaning that not only is the woodchipper compliant with the new Stage V emissions regulations coming into play in 2019, but it also matches the strength and performance users have come to expect from Först’s diesel powered machines.

Expanded Först Range

An additional benefit of the TR6P that will be hugely appealing to contractors, arborists, landscapers and farmers alike is the use of a petrol engine ensures the machine is much quieter during operation and is a far more cost effective option when compared to diesel alternatives, without compromising on performance or quality.

With a lighter weight of only 1200kg, the TR6P woodchipper can track faster and utilises the same chipping chamber, flywheel, hopper, and feed roller system as users have come to expect on all Först models, building on its reputation of bringing fast, aggressive and robust woodchippers to market.

The machine also features an open top flywheel system ensuring chip is thrown, not blown, minimising blockages on wet material and helping to maintain increased velocity when chipping.
