STIHL at SALTEX 2017

STIHL at SALTEX 2017: STIHL will be attending SALTEX this year with some impressive new tools to talk about, including the expanded Pro Cordless range.

The introduction of a new AR 1000 Lithium-Ion backpack battery will be welcome news to those who need to use STIHL’s cordless products for an extended period of time – the new battery weighs in at only 5.5kg and has a slim ergonomic design making it more comfortable over longer periods of use.

The AR 1000 also comes with a detachable rain cover, a harness with a waist and chest strap and a USB port to allow users to charge devices such as mobile phones. These features all come as standard with the Recommended Retail Price of £630 including VAT.

When used in conjunction with the AL 500 charger, the AR 1000 backpack battery can be charged in as little as two hours to minimise downtime. The AR 1000 combines perfectly with the other new tools in STIHL’s Lithium-Ion PRO Cordless product range to offer contractors the durability and longevity needed to handle the toughest jobs.

STIHL will also be featuring some of these new cordless tools at SALTEX, including the FSA 130 and 130 R brush cutters, which are the cutting edge of cordless trimmer technology. These powerful but lightweight brushcutters are specifically designed for working on large areas of thick grass at length. The FSA 130 is a master at clearing large patches of grass and scrub quickly and efficiently thanks to the bike handle, whilst the FSA 130 R features a loop handle which makes it perfect for use in tight spaces.

Like the new PRO Cordless hedge trimmers, the HSA 94 R and 94 T, the FSA 130 range has been designed from the ground up to be as effective as our professional petrol tools. They are capable of tackling much longer or thicker grass at full power than their PRO Cordless predecessors and can run for up to 380 minutes using the new AR 1000 battery. They also feature the latest version of STIHL’s power select system to quickly adjust the blade speed with the flick of a trigger, so you don’t waste battery power when you don’t need to.

The latest PRO Cordless blower, the BGA 100, will also be on display. Perfect for use in noise sensitive areas, the hand held blower is extremely light and quiet, and comes with three power stages plus a boost mode, for tackling the most difficult tasks.

All of these tools and more will be on display on the STIHL Stand at SALTEX with STIHL experts on hand to answer questions about the new technology. Find out more information at www.stihl.co.uk.

Pitch Invading Squirrel Goes Nuts At Etihad Stadium

Pitch Invading Squirrel Goes Nuts At Etihad Stadium: Fans enjoyed a spot of pre-match entertainment earlier this week – courtesy of a furry pitch invader.

Shortly before kick-off, groundsmen spotted a grey squirrel by the corner flag at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

To the cheers of fans, they attempted to shoo it away with their forks. They then spent eight minutes chasing the animal around the pitch as it weaved its way past all their challenges.

Eventually one man grabbed hold of it – only to let it slip through his fingers again when it nipped his hand. He yelped out in pain as the squirrel leapt back on to the turf and headed down the wing.

Staff eventually used rakes and shovels to shepherd it away from the pitch before the cup game against Wolves.

Exhausted, the plucky rodent was eventually scooped up by one of the groundsmen wearing thick gloves who carried it away to safety.
