Sprayer Unveils Green Credentials

Sprayer Unveils Green Credentials: As part of a drive towards developing environmentally friendly and sustainable products Cambridgeshire based manufacturer Techneat Engineering offer the Acuspray, a pedestrian sprayer, aimed at the professional grounds-person and keen gardener.

“It’s a major step forward in design technology and one we are justifiably proud of “says Techneat’s Technical Support Manager James English.

Sprayer Unveils Green Credentials

“There’s no battery or engine so the application rate is controlled by a unique wheel driven pump that remains consistent throughout the day and produces zero carbon emissions. The machine’s plastic construction makes it lightweight, durable and completely recyclable.

For operator comfort the Acuspray is an extremely quiet machine with very low decibel noise emissions. Its lightweight construction means it is also very easy to push. Output varies according to forward speed ensuring the correct application rate is always achieved. The Acusprays’ 25l tank enables it to cover up to 625M2 before refilling is required.

For turf care professionals who require precision equipment, and who are also working towards a greener future, it’s the perfect sprayer” he confirms.

Husqvarna Extend Battery Range

Husqvarna Extend Battery Range: Husqvarna — one of the world’s leading producers of forest, park and garden products — extends its range of battery lawnmowers with the Husqvarna LC 353iVX, a new battery walk-behind designed for demanding domestic use in medium to larger lawns. The mower is equipped with Husqvarna Connect which offers Bluetooth connectivity to a smart phone, variable speed self-drive and 53cm composite cutting deck and dual battery slots. Powered by high efficiency brushless motors, the new lawnmower from Husqvarna is quiet and without direct emissions.

The demand for easy to use, quiet battery products with no direct emissions and low running costs is steadily rising and people are getting increasingly interested in neighbourhood friendly garden tools. Husqvarna LC 353iVX does not release any fumes and with a brushless electric motors it operates at around 83 dB, which is significantly lower than a petrol walk behind lawnmower with similar performance.

Husqvarna Extend Battery Range

Thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity, Husqvarna LC 353iVX can be paired with Husqvarna Connect, allowing users to get information and tips on maintenance and troubleshooting as well as finding guides and manuals. Furthermore, with the mobile app, it is possible to see battery status, helping users plan their garden work more efficiently. The app also allows direct contact to a local Authorised Husqvarna dealer.

With a runtime of up to 70 minutes coupled with a lightweight 53cm composite cutting deck, Husqvarna LC 353iVX is designed for medium to larger sized domestic gardens. The product features variable speed digital drive allowing the ground speed of the machine to be adjusted to suit the walking speed of the user. For increased safety, Husqvarna LC 353iVX has a transport mode which stops the blade from turning and leaves the engine running, enabling off-turf traversing and convenient stop and go operation.

Automatic battery switch and energy saving mode

The new LC 353iVX from Husqvarna has dual battery slots with a feature that automatically switches battery if one of them is out of power, letting the user continue mowing without having to stop to switch batteries. Continuous drive with two batteries means longer runtime and more efficient mowing. The mower can be used with a single battery or a combination of the BLi integrated batteries, ideal for users that already own Husqvarna Battery series products.

The digital control panel on the new Husqvarna battery lawnmower gathers all user controls, gives an overview of the remaining runtime and lets the user choose between four speeds, depending on their needs. The savE™ mode on the Husqvarna lawnmower is designed to lower the RPM, while retaining torque to preserve battery life. By simply pushing the savE™ button on the keypad the energy saving mode is activated or de-activated.

Husqvarna uses a compatible battery system which means it’s possible to use the same batteries for all Husqvarna battery powered products of the same voltage, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers or blowers.

Next Gen Husqvarna Riders: Husqvarna — one of the world’s leading producers of forest, park and garden products — launches two new semi-professional out-front mowers built on a new chassis with a new and innovative X-Change drive in-drive out attachment frame. The Husqvarna R 419TsX AWD and the Husqvarna R 420TsX AWD are both Bluetooth® connected Riders with an updated human-machine interface and new strong automotive style LED headlights.

With the new Riders from Husqvarna, the R 419TsX AWD and the R 420TsX AWD, the company takes 30 years’ experience of developing Riders into the next generation. The new platform enables an even more enjoyable riding experience with unique features and added value to extend the success story of Husqvarna Riders. Thanks to the new and innovative X-Change feature, the user can quickly change attachment without the need for belt removal of any tools, saving time and adding to the versatility of the machine. This also eliminates the need for belt removal when putting the cutting deck into service position.

Next Gen Husqvarna Riders

“The new Husqvarna R 419TsX AWD and the Husqvarna R 420TsX AWD are developed for professionals and landowners who need a compact and versatile Rider with commercial performance. The size of the new Riders enables access to tight areas that are hard to reach with bigger machines and reduces the cost for manual work with walk behind mowers or trimmers”, says Daniel Mannerström, Product Portfolio Manager at Husqvarna.

A new HMI (Human-Machine Interface) display communicates with the driver, assists in handling and shows real time data and warnings – increasing overall productivity. The new Riders are compatible with Husqvarna Connect and Husqvarna Fleet Services™ through Bluetooth® connectivity. The new Riders also feature all-wheel drive hydrostatic transmissions which vastly improves stability and traction when working in more challenging situations.

Both models are also equipped with automotive style headlights and smart tool carrier. The tool carrier on the engine hood has an easy access 12V outlet making it convenient to charge handheld battery products while you are mowing. The carrier can also be fitted with a cargo holder.

The new Riders from Husqvarna are equipped with new automotive-style LED headlights with 180-degree coverage to increase visibility near and far from the machine. Following thorough ergonomic studies in the initial development of the Riders, Husqvarna created more adjustment possibilities and space for the driver. The updated steering wheel with a fresh, modern design has quick height adjustment as well as comfortable and defined grip areas and a steering wheel knob to increase ergonomics and handling. The articulated power steering makes manoeuvring around obstacles effortless and with an uncut turning circle of 70cm a single pass can be all it takes to navigate around obstacles. The front mounted combi cutting decks allow more to done with the machine, reducing or eliminating the need to carry out follow up work with a trimmer. The Combi decks provide class leading mulch performance recycling the clippings back into the soil improving grass condition. Cutting decks can be easily converted to rear eject for areas of longer grass.

The R 419TsX AWD comes fitted with commercial grade 656 cm3 Briggs & Stratton V-Twin engine and has the option of new X-Change 103cm and 112cm Combi cutting decks. Pellenc Chosen By idverde

Pellenc Chosen By idverde: Europe’s largest provider of grounds maintenance services and landscape construction projects, idverde, has purchased 20 Pellenc ULiB 1500 batteries and 20 Pellenc Excelion 2000 brushcutters all fitted with City Cut heads.

The new range of Pellenc equipment has been purchased by the company’s department in the London Borough of Bromley and Angus Lindsay, group head of assets and fleet management, says that the purchase reflects the company’s stance on becoming more environmentally friendly.

Pellenc Chosen By idverde

“We have purchased more electric equipment this year than we have done in all the previous years,” he said. “It is a mixture of being driven by contracts, clients and because ultimately it is the right thing to do. As a company, we have approximately 10,000 pieces of machinery out there and around half of them are all two-stroke or small four-stroke. That is a lot of emissions and we therefore need to start doing something about it.”

Since 2015 idverde has been responsible for the management of the parks, green space and countryside in the London Borough of Bromley and Angus, who has sole responsibility for the vehicles and machinery operated by idverde – from specifying, purchasing and whole life management through to disposal, explained his thinking behind choosing the Pellenc Excelion 2000 brushcutters fitted with City Cut heads.

“In the London Borough of Bromley we suffer a lot with thrown debris from traditional line cutters. It could be grass splatter on head stones or it could be stones flicked towards cars and houses – it is a big issue. So, when you weigh up the cost of damaged paintwork, broken windows and the emotional cost of having a loved one’s headstone splattered with grass, it made sense to look at an alternative.”

Designed for routine maintenance or intensive strimming, the Excelion 2000 is robust, powerful and lightweight. It perfectly eliminates tall, dense grass, woody weeds, brambles and shrubs and can be fitted with a range of five interchangeable heads, depending on the task required.

The idverde team in Bromley will be using the City Cut head which is particularly suited to the maintenance of urban spaces. The City Cut’s counter-rotation technology, which is exclusive to Pellenc, avoids plant, gravel, stones and debris from projecting and causing damage to surrounding areas.

“The City Cut head on the Excelion 2000 provides us with a solution to thrown debris along with the benefits of electric power in terms of noise and pollution,” said Angus. “The other sites where we will be using them are next to schools. We are not allowed to operate in school hours because of disruption to the classes but electric equipment is a lot quieter so you can extend your working hours. This also applies to hospitals and care homes because you are a lot less disruptive with battery powered equipment.”

The idverde team purchased the Pellenc ULiB 1500 batteries, which have the highest capacity on the market, to power their Excelion 2000 brushcutters. The battery is supported by an ergonomic and lightweight Pellenc harness which offers an ideal level of comfort when in use. Its weight is perfectly distributed over the key back support areas, so 70% of the weight rests on the hips, with only 30% on the shoulders. The entire carrying system, from the straps to the thoracic spine area, can be adjusted for any shape and working styles and the battery is watertight to IP54 for use in the rain.

“Battery powered products, in general, are getting so much better,” said Angus. “They have moved away from getting just 10 minutes out of them before having to go and charge them to getting a full day’s work. They are now professionally built and are certainly up to the task.

“Pellenc make a very good product and as a company we’ve taken more battery powered equipment on-board to address environmental issues. This equipment increases the working time and is better for the operators – they don’t have to wear the same amount of PPE (personal protective equipment) in terms of face protection and ear protection because it doesn’t have the same emissions and they don’t make the same noise as their petrol counterparts.

“Electric has to be the way forward,” he continued. “It is the environment, it is the workers – it is everybody that will benefit from it, so I think it is the correct thing to do morally as far as our industry goes. The government is pushing us to use electric cars and utilise the electric transportation system but they seem to forget that there are strimmers, hedge cutters, ride-on mowers and chippers that are omitting fumes everyday so therefore we must do every little bit we can do to help.”

Pellenc products are exclusively distributed in the UK by Etesia UK.
