Spider launch new UK site

Spider launch new UK site: The team behind the distribution of Spider slope mowers in the UK are delighted to launch a new website dedicated to showcasing the unique range of Spider mowers available to industry professionals across the country.

The new, user-friendly website enables users to view details on all the Spider machines available to the UK market and learn more about the benefits of using a Spider on dangerous, challenging or steep terrain.

Not only that, booking a free, on-site demonstration has been made easy with an online form available on every page which sends your request straight through to the team for a quick response.

Alternatively, for those who prefer to talk on the phone, you can call and speak to a Spider representative right here in the UK with contact numbers available for the team.

For those seeking to contact their nearest Spider dealer, the ‘Find a Dealer’ page provides addresses and telephone details for each of the UK dealers, a list which will continue to grow with new dealers sought to increase support and sales coverage for customers in new areas.

Bill Johnston, Head of the UK Spider distributor business Machinery Imports, is excited by the new digital presence, commenting:

“The new UK based website for Spider creates a hugely useful resource for Spider owners, dealers and customers looking for a suitable slope mower. Home to a wealth of information about the brand and the specific models available, as well as current and former user manuals, the website will be an asset to our business in promoting the benefits of Spider mowers for customers across the country.”

Spider was founded in July 2004 by Lubomír Dvořák in Czech Republic. The patent-protected remote-controlled slope mowers feature a revolutionary design incorporating a unique drive system offering 4-wheel drive, skid steer, and zero-turn functionality.

Unrivalled in the field, this functionality makes Spider mowers quick and easy to manoeuvre, able to climb slopes up to 55° and lightweight, avoiding turf damage and erosion.

The launch of the newest and smallest Spider, the X-Liner, sees all the benefits of the larger Spider mowers in a compact, approximately 1m2 model, capable of mowing up to 3000m2 per hour!

The Spider brand in the UK has seen great success over the past year under Machinery Imports stewardship and the development of a new UK-based website will support the business’ focus on further increasing visibility within the UK market along with helping existing Spider owners to find their local dealer for sales and service support, and encouraging new dealers interested in representing the brand to make contact.

EGO saws to the top at SALTEX

EGO saws to the top at SALTEX: EGO, the cordless specialists, revealed new additions to its 2020 range at SALTEX last week.

New products were revealed on its stand, giving landscapers, facilities managers and groundscare professionals the first sneak peek at what it has to offer going into 2020. The brand displayed its new 42cm self-propelled mower, 45cm chainsaw, featuring a world’s first auto-tensioning chain, and taking trimming to the next level, the new Rotocut attachment.

Also joining the range in 2020 is the new 10Ah battery, providing even longer run-times and a bristle brush/paddle brush attachment head to be used with the industry-leading Multi-Tool.
A chainsaw demonstration which featured in a covered demo area at the front of EGO’s stand, attracted passers-by as a member of the EGO team demonstrated how easy and powerful the new 45cm chainsaw is to use, boasting its auto-tensioning chain with an impressive 20m/s chain speed lightweight frame and quiet brushless motor.

Answering a strong demand in the market, EGO’s new Rotocut attachment cuts through grass, weeds and moss on concrete, pathways and verges with ease. Featuring two counter-rotating blades instead of line, it maximises run-time and most importantly, prevents debris from being thrown at high speed, making it ideal for use in built up areas.

Bringing the very latest in battery technology to the turf, the EGO Power Plus range of self-propelled mowers are simpler, cleaner, quieter and more comfortable to use. New to the 2020 range the 42cm self-propelled mower, which makes easy work of those smaller grass areas. Fitted with an independent, variable speed self-propel motor it allows the user to take the effort out of pushing. This expansion of the EGO mower range enables customers to choose a mower specific to their gardening needs.

EGO’s state-of-the-art product range offers groundscare volunteers and professionals a solution to issues many of them face every day, such as the importance of using environmental and user-friendly equipment, whilst providing a high-quality result.

Steve Roskell, Marketing Director EMEA at EGO, commented on how the event went: “Well what a show! We were pleased to share a preview of our 2020 range on our stand this year. Interest in EGO continues to grow significantly, firmly establishing us as the cordless specialists. It’s encouraging to see so many dealers and users embrace our 56Volt battery technology and move away from the more traditional petrol-powered products and brands. This trend will only intensify as health and environmental issues are put front and centre.”.

Successful SALTEX for Price Turfcare

Successful SALTEX for Price Turfcare: “SALTEX just gets better and better for us”, says Rupert Price, Managing Director of Ventrac’s UK distributor Price Turfcare.

“For the past two years we’ve been coming to the event with the intention of raising the profile of the Ventrac brand, but this year there was a significant change. Visitors now know of us through our marketing initiatives including the social media platforms of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, together with the editorial coverage we have received in the trade media.

“We’re still working exceptionally hard demonstrating the versatility of the equipment and the recent Turf Maintenance Live (TML) event, just a week before SALTEX, was another opportunity to get the product in front of prospects.

“Many of the visitors to our stand were saying that they had seen us on social media and in the trade publications. Now they are wanting to see the equipment that is creating the buzz. At the close of the show, when we analysed the number of demonstration requests we had received, I was quite dumbfounded. With these added to those from TML, we are going to be extremely busy between now and the spring of 2020.

“All in all, a great show for us.”

Allett’s eco contribution at SALTEX

Allett’s eco contribution at SALTEX: Allett Mowers report another excellent Saltex this year with a plentiful supply of good quality leads. On show for the first time was the new Uplift 86E 82V li-ion battery-powered stadium rotary mower, designed for debris collection after matches and built on the experience gained with previous models.

The company was particularly pleased with the Eco-Village concept, where Managing Director Austin Jarrett gave an informed talk on battery power and the need for the sensibility to be reducing our carbon footprint on a global scale. Allett won the Queen’s Award for International Trade in 2019 and with the UK and international markets in mind, the business is working towards being carbon neutral by 2022.

Allett’s eco contribution at SALTEX

“Battery power brings a large amount of environmental benefits to our industry and end-users,” said Austin, “there are the Hand-Arm Vibration benefits over petrol-powered machinery, which is of great importance for workers within the industry. You have better machine control using battery power electric motors and sensors, while noise is also significantly reduced. Battery power contributes greatly to environmental sustainability and we have an important responsibility for us and people around the world. Battery power may be a more expensive investment, but you get that back over time.”

The Allett Uplift 86E was on display in the Eco Village together with the Allett C34E large area walk-behind cylinder mower. The latter also uses the latest Lithium-ion battery technology and is designed for quiet, pollution-free operation in sports stadiums, training pitches and prestige lawns around the world. It was launched at Saltex 2018 and has built a large following since. Both electric machines were also on display on the main Allett stand alongside their petrol counterparts.

Austin Jarrett rounded off by saying: “we predict we will probably not have any petrol engines within our range by 2025.” A bold ecological statement but one which is clearly supported with the lead Allett is taking in the development of their battery-powered mowers.
