The Australian arm of the brand will be overseen by Campey Product Specialist Rob Jenkins, who is based in Melbourne and has 20 years of turf experience across the world from top stadiums and golf courses through consultancy and sales. During his time in the UK, Rob worked with Campey and gained what he sees as a ‘sales apprenticeship’ from Richard Campey, making him the perfect candidate to lead the expansion.

“I’m excited to be working with Campey again and get back to what I learnt when I was in the UK,” Rob begins. “I’ve used the Campey ideology throughout my career, and that is built on a range of sports turf renovation equipment designed to rejuvenate worn pitches quickly without reliance on manufactured chemicals.

“Over time, I’ve seen a lot of countries turn away from harmful synthetic products to sustainable approaches to rejuvenate the soil, and in that area, Campey has it all. They have been providing these machines for over 30 years with proven results all over the globe, and we want to establish that in Australia.

“Another part of their philosophy is getting machines out for people to try and demo. We’ll be working with our dealers as part of that process because getting out to customers is what has made the Campey name renowned not just in the UK but across many parts of the world, and we want to replicate that here. Of course, a large part of that is the service they provide, and we are currently looking for dealers in all States who can collaborate with us to provide that.

“We’ll have access to Campey’s large and varied range of used products, including a huge array of ex-demo and re-furbished equipment that will be included into regular shipping containers arriving into Australia, so this market will be very well serviced.”

As part of the expansion, a website, www.campeyturfcare.com.au, dedicated to Australia, is being launched in the Spring, with information on all Campey Australia dealers and available machinery. Enquiries can be made to: info@campeyaustralia.com

Export Sales Manager for Campey Turf Care, Nick Brown is delighted to welcome Rob on behalf of the whole team. ‘This project is very much a part of the current expansion programme that has recently seen the appointment of 15 additional Campey distributors across the world. Campey Australia is an extension of this and plays an important part in channelling sales across this strategically important area. Nick can be contacted direct on mobile +44 (0) 7974 318584 and Rob Jenkins on: +61 415 053 730

Kress dealers support in Ireland

Kress dealers support in Ireland: Positec UK & Ireland has taken the decision to streamline the route to market for its desirable range of Kress products, by working directly with its dealer network across the island of Ireland.

Newly appointed Kress Brand and Business Manager, Gary Tully says; “We have an excellent, established dealer network across Ireland and this new and more efficient structure will help us all to fully maximise the distribution of the exciting range of Kress mowers and power tools”.

Tully adds, “Demand for Kress products has outstripped supply over the last 2 years and we are keen to ensure that stock availability in Ireland meets demand in the future. During April we will make contact with each dealer to communicate our plans in detail”.

Kress’s advanced battery technology provides the most powerful and durable range of outdoor green power tools available on the market, extending from the Mission range of robotic mowers, to 20V and 60V grass and hedge trimmers, blowers, chainsaws and more.

Kress batteries are high quality lithium-ion, designed for demanding jobs and with a range of functions that offer seamless, high-power operation for as long as it is needed.

The Kress 60V range is therefore also particularly ideal for Landscapers, Commercial contractors, Sports Clubs and Landowners looking to reduce emissions, fuel and the operating costs to manage sports pitches, lawns and large grounds.

With annual growth that has reached tenfold, robotic mowers are becoming ever more popular with businesses and homeowners. However, their basic design had not changed significantly since they were invented in 1995, until now. Kress believes robotic mowers should do more than relieve users of the burden of pushing a mower each week and the Kress robot mower range has been designed from the ground up, featuring a raft of innovative technologies, that will set the industry standards for the coming years. This exciting new Kress Mission range of lawn management products, is packed with innovative technology to take robotic mowing to the next level.

As well as saving both time and cost, Kress Mission robotic mowers are also enabled to take autonomous decisions to protect and enhance the health of turf through innovative technology:

  • Intelligent Navigation Technology Inbound Variable Angle. Kress Mission’s INTIVA enabled mowers optimize their mowing, getting the job done faster and more efficiently, with less wear. Conversely, other robotic mowers stop, reverse, stop, and eventually turn, without being aware of which direction is best. Not only does this waste time, it wears the lawn along the borders and especially the corners.
  • Kress’ ultrasonic Obstacle Avoidance System, is years ahead of the competition. Not only does the OAS avoid collisions, it tells the mower how to best navigate complex paths, such as through a group of trees in the lawn.
  • Climate intelligence. Temperature, precipitation, and solar radiation all affect grass growth. Connected to a network of local weather stations, Mission robots autonomously customize their work schedule accordingly.
  • Climate friendly. Kress REGEN (regenerative brake system) technology recharges the battery when the mower is running downhill, increasing the runtime and reducing charging time and costs.
  • Blade design. Designing a robotic lawn mower around the grass does not mean neglecting users’ needs. The biggest complaint robotic lawnmower owners have is still manually trimming borders. The Kress Mission blade design is offset to mow the perimeter of the lawn as closely as possible.
  • The charging station has also been re-thought from scratch. Unlike conventional charging stations which sit on large plastic pads, both unpleasant to the eye and killing the grass underneath, the pad of Mission’s base is the grass.

Not to mention an App to control the mower remotely, multi-Zone programming, a rain sensor and grass-friendly charging, the Mission family ranges from the mini Nano to the Kress Mega Mower, offering powerful mowing capacity from 1 square metre up to an incredible 6,500 square metres.

Tony Macer National Sales Manager for Kress says: “In order to provide a better and more efficient service to both dealers and consumers, we have streamlined the supply chain to improve dealer support and get closer to our customers. With exciting new Kress products streaming onto the market, we want our valued dealers across the island of Ireland to enjoy the same benefits and margins as the rest of the UK & Europe”.

Tony adds: “With industry leading mowing power, all of our lawnmowers perform exceptionally in Irish grass conditions, wet or dry. The power tools in the 60v range are comparable to petrol. Kress and its products offer a real opportunity for dealers in Ireland to futureproof their business and evolve into the sustainable robotic and battery sectors, supported by a new, efficient and profitable structure”.

Established over 50 years ago, Positec owned brand, Kress, is World number 2 in robotic mower sales, with a culture of innovation, high quality engineering and patented technology, all at a very competitive price point, supported by a 3 year warranty, excellent aftersales service and dealer support. Accentuated through the latest Kress range of zero emission, high power battery products, Kress is proud to hold the WWF platinum award for sustainability.

Star for Spurs

Star for Spurs: Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has chosen STAR EV to play a key part in its journey to becoming net zero carbon.

As a fleet of STAR EV all-electric vehicles from distributor Reesink e-Vehicles arrive at the Training Centre in North London, Darren Baldwin, Head of Playing Surfaces and Estates at the club, which has topped the Premier League sustainability table produced by the UN-backed Sport Positive and published by BBC Sport for three years running, tells us why he chose STAR EV.

“We needed an alternative form of transport for staff and VIPs around the Training Centre that has a reduced impact on the environment,” he explains. “We’re already investing in electric options for tending to the pitches and what we needed next was an electric solution that encompassed golf buggies, people carriers, utility vehicles and ambulances.”

Tottenham Hotspur is using 10 Capella Work Machines, three ambulances – two for the men’s team and one for the women’s – and a Sirius four-seater people carrier. All are electric and come with STAR EV’s record of using high quality materials to create one of the most resourceful green vehicles on the market.

With Tottenham Hotspur a proud member of the UN Race to Zero, committing to halve its carbon emissions by 2030 and become net zero carbon by 2040, its partnership with STAR EV will help it secure a place in the top tier of sustainability in sport.

Darren has been at the club for 26 years and has certainly seen many pivotal points in the industry, and he says electric power is up there with the likes of the DESSO Grass master pitch and grow light technology in terms of key developments: “It’s exciting, this stage of electric power. We’ve certainly achieved a lot so far but there’s a way to go yet and it has a far-reaching spectrum. Yes, the vehicles play a key part, but this is just the start, it will encompass all sorts, such as electric lighting rigs, too.”

With a grounds team of 45 using the machines, there’s a lot of feedback on using the brand. Darren says: “We put feelers out to many manufacturers and found that STAR EV leads the market when it comes to a smooth ride, versatility, payload and towing capacity, battery life and performance. We all really like them.

“We also did a great deal of research into the right partner to work with. We already have a successful relationship working with Reesink UK for our turfcare machinery, so when we heard they had an e-Vehicles division focusing solely on electric vehicles we trusted them with delivering us with the best possible solution for an all-electric fleet.”

And it seems Reesink e-Vehicles hit the nail on the head with STAR EV as Darren concludes: “STAR EV fits in exactly with what Spurs is all about and that’s having the best available game-changing equipment on the market there is. STAR EV meets the expectations we have for the club and the expectations we have for achieving climate neutrality.”
