STIHL’s most powerful battery-powered cut-off machine

STIHL’s most powerful battery-powered cut-off machine: STIHL has unveiled its most powerful battery-powered cut-off machine to date. The TSA 500, with 16”/350mm cutting wheel, is the latest addition to STIHL’s AP System range. It offers a power output of 4.2kW and provides an equivalent cutting performance to the petrol-powered TS 500i, with 3.9kW mechanical performance.

To deliver this performance, it requires two AP 500 S batteries, powering a 72-volt system. Featuring an adjustable magnesium guard, the tool is ideal for construction, landscaping, and rescue service professionals.

Built for optimised handling for tougher cutting tasks, the TSA 500 provides smooth operation and low vibration, allowing for precise guidance of the tool. With its 350mm cutting disc, the machine allows for accurate and ergonomic cutting of a range of materials, including stone, structural steel, metal and composite materials, to depths of 125mm.

The new machine boasts an electronic control panel and a simple control system. The TSA 500’s STIHL Power Boost technology ensures optimal performance and consistent cutting power throughout its runtime, comparable to that of petrol alternatives. The tool also provides consistent power for 20-40 minutes, depending on the material being cut, when used with two AP 500 S batteries. Being battery operated, the TSA 500 is particularly suited to indoor cutting tasks or situations where the simplicity of a battery machine excels.

In addition, its run-out break, with recuperation function, feeds the energy generated during braking, back into its batteries, for maximum efficiency and productivity. This also means the cutting wheel comes to a stop in less than 4 seconds after use.

What’s more, for optimum tool performance and longevity, the TSA 500’s newly developed magnetic filter protects the machine from the particles generated during metal cutting operation.

For ease of use, users can select one of three power modes according to task via its digital controls, with a modern display, which also provides information on the tool’s battery charge level. With its built-in connected function, the tool can also integrate seamlessly into the STIHL Connected digital fleet management system, which delivers up-to-date information on usage and maintenance status, reducing downtime.

Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the TSA 500 is IPX 4-rated, making it safe to use in wet conditions.

Visitors will also be able to learn more about the hugely popular MM50, a fast-establishing ryegrass blend that delivers consistent year-round performance. Known for its resilience and fine leaf characteristics, MM50 produces a dense, clean-cut sward that stands up well to close mowing and heavy traffic, while also offering high levels of disease resistance.

For those managing lower-input sites, MM13 provides a traditional, high-quality option for overseeding and renovating tees, fairways and roughs. With excellent drought tolerance, strong recovery and good disease resistance, MM13 is well suited for areas where reliability and ease of management are essential. Its ability to maintain colour and performance through winter further adds to its appeal.

Greens Mixtures: MM8 & MM9

For greens, MM Seed will be showcasing MM8, a 100% fine fescue blend ideal for links and heathland-style environments. Featuring top-rated cultivars such as Sybille, MM8 delivers a fine, dense sward with exceptional drought tolerance, low nutrient requirements and enhanced disease resistance. It supports sustainable maintenance practices and is particularly effective for spring and summer overseeding.

Also highlighted will be MM9, a premium browntop bent mixture designed for summer overseeding, autumn renovation and new green constructions. Renowned for producing a fine, dense and smooth putting surface, MM9 offers excellent year-round colour, strong disease resistance and impressive tolerance to close mowing, making it a trusted choice for high-performance greens.

Reesink Turfcare brings strong presence to BTME

Reesink Turfcare brings strong presence to BTME: Distributor Reesink Turfcare brings a strong presence to BTME 2026, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and equipment designed to streamline golf course management, improve efficiency, and elevate course conditions.

Software and technology feature heavily in three new product launches and the latest to market machinery. Here are some of the innovations on display.

Satellite technology

Thanks to Toro’s exclusive partnership with TerraRad, turfRad uses remote sensing technology to detect moisture information deep under the surface of the turf accessing everything there is to know to make actionable changes to improve irrigation.

Each sensor takes about 10,000 single-point measurements per fairway and considers the chlorophyll content and surface temperature from the microwaves naturally emitting from the soil. This real-time data is sent to the turfRad software to help provide a streamlined, more effective irrigation strategy that eliminates the need for manual labour when it comes to moisture monitoring and sprinkler adjustments.

turfRad will be on display at BTME affixed to the revolutionary customer favourite, Toro Reelmaster 5010-H, Toro Lynx software will also be available to view and Reesink representatives will be on stand to run through its UI.

Robert Jackson, Hydro-Scapes Division Manager, comments: “As a simple attachment to a Toro mower or utility vehicle, monitoring your soil to accumulate actionable information fits into the day job with turfRad. The information acquired can be used to make decisions that make savings, identify issues and irregularities, direct attention to problem areas and use water more strategically.”

Web-based digital toolkit

Intelli360 is the new web-based digital toolkit to simplify how course managers keep operations running smoothly from one day to the next. With this, they can manage equipment fleets from anywhere, monitor operating status, hours and upcoming maintenance needs and manage resources in real-time from one central hub.

Battery-powering customer favourites

Toro’s brand-new fully electric GreensPro e1700 is electric efficiency personified. It utilises two to four of Toro’s hypercell batteries, larger rollers, and a unique hitch design to allow for easy transition from rolling to transport. It will sit alongside the equally whisper-quiet, also brand new addition to the Workman utility vehicles range – the Toro LTX Lithium.

Autonomous technology

Ground-breaking when they launched at BTME last year, the Toro autonomous range including the Groundsmaster eTriFlex 3360 with GeoLink Mow and Turf Pro 300 and 500 state-of-the-art autonomous robotic mowers utilise advanced technology for consistently clean, well-maintained turf and crisply cut grass with minimal operator input and quiet operation.

These mowers care for every inch of the turf without sacrificing quality and free up greenkeeping staff to apply their specialised skills to other needs across the course, just like the autonomous technology in the Range Pro can ease the labour-intensive task of collecting golf balls from the driving range.

Jon Cole, Divisional Business Manager, Reesink Turfcare, says: “It is evident from our Toro line up how technology and software continues to lead product development, bringing big changes in operational efficiencies and the health and aesthetics of the course. Our Reesink representatives on stand look forward to talking through the products and benefits they bring with customers looking for innovations that count.”

The irrigation and water aeration offering from Reesink will have the usual focus on water sustainability. Alongside the most advanced central control system, there will be controllers and sprinklers from Toro and water aerators for creating the cleanest, healthiest water quality for your lakes, ponds, and reservoirs from Otterbine.

See what Reesink has to offer for 2026 on stand 622 at BTME 20-22 January.
