Since its foundation in 1978, KAR UK has been one of the largest importers of irrigation equipment for wholesale into the UK and Irish Market. Supported by leading manufacturers in the industry, our company has consistently grown. We pride ourselves on supplying complete irrigation systems for the Horticultural, Agricultural, and Sports turf markets, offering over 4000 products, including pipes, fittings, valves, hoses, sprinklers, control systems, pumps, and water storage tanks.

In December 2022, KAR UK Limited became part of the Dutch wholesale group Van Den Borne, further strengthening our market presence with combined expertise from the UK and Holland. With this growth strategy, we are looking to expand our team to focus on the Horticulture and Agriculture market in the UK.

Operating from an extensive warehousing, administrative, and training facility in Swinton, Manchester, we are known for exceptional customer service and product availability

Role Overview:

As the Area Sales Manager, you will:

  • Promote a range of irrigation products and materials from leading global manufacturers in a field sales role.
  • Serving customers in Southern England.
  • Develop new business and grow sales of existing accounts.
  • Align with the Company’s beliefs and values to build and maintain customer trust.
  • Proactively manage established client relationships, responding positively to customer requirements and expectations.
  • Produce timely, quality internal business reports.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to gain new business leads, contacts, and market information.
  • Prepare quotes and provide correct technical advice.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Knowledge of irrigation from sports turf, landscape, agricultural, grower’s background, or related industries.
  • Understanding of pumps, filtration, water storage, sprinkler systems, valves, and control is advantageous.
  • Proven history in sales, of delivering new accounts, developing and growing existing accounts.
  • Proactive, personable, motivated, and driven.
  • Field sales track record.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience in using ERP/CRM packages in previous positions would be advantageous.
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as being a team player.
