STIHL at SALTEX 2017

STIHL at SALTEX 2017: STIHL will be attending SALTEX this year with some impressive new tools to talk about, including the expanded Pro Cordless range.

The introduction of a new AR 1000 Lithium-Ion backpack battery will be welcome news to those who need to use STIHL’s cordless products for an extended period of time – the new battery weighs in at only 5.5kg and has a slim ergonomic design making it more comfortable over longer periods of use.

The AR 1000 also comes with a detachable rain cover, a harness with a waist and chest strap and a USB port to allow users to charge devices such as mobile phones. These features all come as standard with the Recommended Retail Price of £630 including VAT.

When used in conjunction with the AL 500 charger, the AR 1000 backpack battery can be charged in as little as two hours to minimise downtime. The AR 1000 combines perfectly with the other new tools in STIHL’s Lithium-Ion PRO Cordless product range to offer contractors the durability and longevity needed to handle the toughest jobs.

STIHL will also be featuring some of these new cordless tools at SALTEX, including the FSA 130 and 130 R brush cutters, which are the cutting edge of cordless trimmer technology. These powerful but lightweight brushcutters are specifically designed for working on large areas of thick grass at length. The FSA 130 is a master at clearing large patches of grass and scrub quickly and efficiently thanks to the bike handle, whilst the FSA 130 R features a loop handle which makes it perfect for use in tight spaces.

Like the new PRO Cordless hedge trimmers, the HSA 94 R and 94 T, the FSA 130 range has been designed from the ground up to be as effective as our professional petrol tools. They are capable of tackling much longer or thicker grass at full power than their PRO Cordless predecessors and can run for up to 380 minutes using the new AR 1000 battery. They also feature the latest version of STIHL’s power select system to quickly adjust the blade speed with the flick of a trigger, so you don’t waste battery power when you don’t need to.

The latest PRO Cordless blower, the BGA 100, will also be on display. Perfect for use in noise sensitive areas, the hand held blower is extremely light and quiet, and comes with three power stages plus a boost mode, for tackling the most difficult tasks.

All of these tools and more will be on display on the STIHL Stand at SALTEX with STIHL experts on hand to answer questions about the new technology. Find out more information at www.stihl.co.uk.

SALTEX 2017 Launches Innovation Award

SALTEX 2017 Launches Innovation Award: SALTEX 2017 is set to play host to the most technologically advanced-equipment showcase in grounds management. With this in mind SALTEX event organisers have decided to hold, for the very first time, an Innovation Award – and visitors will get the chance to see every entry at the show.

SALTEX 2017 Launches Innovation Award

Here’s a snapshot of some of the exciting entries:

Campey Turf Care Systems has entered three products – the Genny Wren – a unique hand probe that injects air / oxygen into the ground; the Imants Topdrain 1000 – which improves surface drainage and the newly re-designed Koro FTM c/w Universe Rotor which removes all weak grasses and weeds.

Recently praised by the STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute), the SISIS Javelin Aer-Aid 1500introduces air at a rate of 88 litres (3cu.ft.) per minute at 120 PSI. It can be used all year round on fine and outfield turf.

Ahead of its production date, M Lloyd Engineering Ltd has entered the Rotastar star excavator mounted screening bucket which allows the groundsman to create the material he needs when he needs it.

Green technology appears to be a familiar theme at this year’s show and with current emission laws being tightened combined with the increasing cost of fuel, Demon International has entered the LPG Engine, which offers the market a green alternative to petrol. Powered by lithium battery technology the updated 2017 Infinicut  from MTD Specialty comes equipped with a programmable 3 position switch which means that the mowing clip rate machine can be adapted to suit different conditions at the flick of a switch.

The brand new BAX1500 from EGO Power+ removes the weight of the battery for cordless hand held equipment while the new Pellenc ULB1500 battery powers a host of grounds maintenance tools and gives users 50% more stored energy when compared to the existing largest battery on the market.

SALTEX, is of course the ideal place to see the latest in grass cutting technology and visitors will be pleased to see these two entries at the show: the new Etesia Hydro 80 MKHP4 E-Connect features a keypad and a new LCD display with key ignition replaced by the use of RFID cards for simple, touch-sensitive starting. This also means you can set up various user profiles to give particular people the right to use the machine, while it helps guard against theft. The Grillo FD900 is a completely new out-front commercial mower with hi tip grass collector. It has a permanent hydraulic 4wd and a triple blade 126cm cutter deck to reduce noise and speed grass flow.

SALTEX visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to the very best in line marking equipment this year and the show floor will provide a great opportunity to find out more about these innovative entries – the MAQA line marking machine from Fleet Line Markers; Pitchmark’s Hybrid and Rigby Taylor’s’Intelligent One.’ Furthermore, many of these unique line marking machines will be in action in the Outdoor Demonstrations area at the show.

Also situated in the Outdoor Demonstrations area at SALTEX 2017 is Groundwater Dynamics which has entered the EGRP (Energy Passive Groundwater Recharge Pump) which offers an alternative way of draining fine turf surfaces at source with no need for diverting water.

GroundsCare Products’ Turf Teq powered Edger/Trencher quickly grooms existing shrub and flower bed edges while the ZipLevel is a revolutionary survey product that can work around corners and behind trees and bushes.

With the recent introduction of technology such as hawkeye, there has been an increased need for 100% accuracy within goal post set up. Look no further than Harrod UK’s Stadium Pro Goal Height Adjusterwhich allows the user to finely adjust the height of the goalposts in situ.

Combining speed, mobility and laser precision, SIS Pitches game-changing hybrid pitch system, SISGrass Universal, is the latest addition to the company’s award-winning technology and visitors can no doubt find out more at the show.

SALTEX is the place to see the world’s latest breaking technology and there’s no exception when it comes to New Ground Technology Europe and Matrax. New Ground Technology has entered the world’s first ever TurfPrinter which allows groundsmen to effectively become artists by printing images on turf with the use of just air, while the Matrax 4×4 LD pedestrian grade turf preservation panel is the world’s first seamless transition between drivable & non-drivable turf protection.

Education is at the forefront of Sherriff Amenity’s Online Academy. This unique online learning resource provides in-depth knowledge on Sherriff Amenity’s products, as well as a wide range of areas in turf management such as turf disease, product application, seed and turf pests. Elsewhere in the amenity division, Herbatech SRL has entered Herbafer Rubisco – a unique blend of foliar nutrients and bio stimulants which retains more water molecules in the leaf, preventing osmotic dehydration and reducing transpirational wilting.

Last but certainly not least is the Gator SpeedLoad from Oregon (Blount UK Ltd). This new and exclusive trimmer and brushcutter head utilizes a disc shaped line that comes pre-wound and is heat treated for added durability. The line, which lasts up to twice as long as regular trimmer line, can be replaced in under 20 seconds.

A panel of expert judges will select the winning product and the winning company will be presented with their award on the first day of SALTEX.

Cub Cadet Showcase New PRO Z Series At SALTEX

Cub Cadet Showcase New PRO Z Series At SALTEX: Stand L180

Visitors to this year’s Saltex will bear witness to Cub Cadet’s commitment to the professional market, with the newly designed Pro Z Series, commercial, zero-turn mowers being a highlight of the show. The company has gone right back to the drawing board in developing this innovative range, displaying its dedication to developing high performance and efficient machinery for landscaping professionals.

The Pro Z Series line up consists of the PRO Z1, PRO Z5 and the PRO Z7, with each machine being designed to meet the specific needs of professional landscape contractors.

Cub Cadet Showcase New PRO Z Series At SALTEX

These machines are the strongest, most efficient mowers to have ever been created by Cub Cadet, and have been given the official seal of approval by 100 landscapers who put them through their paces for a rigorous testing period of 16 weeks. All of the machines have been developed with extreme strength at their core. The PRO Z5 and PRO Z7 have been designed and built with the industry’s only Triple 7-gauge deck, which features three layers of 7-gauge steel, plus a 1/4-inch leading edge and 5/16-inch side reinforcements. From frame to front yoke, the Pro Z Series is designed to absorb the impact of rough terrain and stand up to the demands of everyday professional use.

In addition to this, the full-length laser-cut steel frame and 5/16-inch steel rear bumpers are protected with a durable e-coating. This precise, multi-stage process provides automotive-grade corrosion defence and goes above and beyond the industry standard. High-back suspension seats with lumbar support and padded armrests come as standard, meaning that you can work fatigue free, for longer and in more comfort than ever before.

The market-leading steering system – Synchro Steer – delivers the ultimate manoeuvrability and control, with smooth, precise handling and increasing hillside stability.

The PRO Z1 is equipped with a 137cm / 54” welded cutting deck and can cover 5,000 m2/h with speeds of 9.5 mph. The PRO Z5 has a 152cm / 60” cutting deck and with a 10mph cutting speed, can cover up to 6,000 m2/h. Finally, the PRO Z7 has a 183cm / 72” cutting deck, has a cutting speed of 12mph and can cover up to 7,500 m2/h.

The PRO Z1 produces a commercial-quality cut with landscaper-approved speed, efficiency and comfort. It is equipped with an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) engine by Kohler, which makes the machine extremely fuel efficient, saving both time and money; two things that are always in high demand!

The PRO Z5 allows users to maximize work days with efficient engines, larger fuel capacity and an industry-leading commercial cutting deck. Its high-torque commercial transmission paired with a high-horsepower, commercial-grade Kawasaki engine, work seamlessly together to provide optimal and consistent blade tip speed.

The jewel in the crown is the PRO Z7, which offers greater rated power, higher top speeds, more comfort and a larger deck. This machine makes a hard day’s work easy, providing extreme power via the commercial-grade Kawasaki engine, and ultimate comfort with the seat benefiting from an isolation dampening system with lumbar adjustments.

Phil Noble, Field Sales and Technical Manager for Cub Cadet UK, said: “The PRO Z series is loaded with features that have been painstakingly designed for exceptional performance, unmatched comfort and beautiful results. We are dedicated to working with the professional sector, and believe that we have created products that will prove to be, not only popular, but indispensable to the market.”

Productive Zero Turn Mowers Return to SALTEX

Productive Zero Turn Mowers Return to SALTEX: Bobcat zero turn mowers return to SALTEX for the third year at the new venue to meet their existing customers and to have the opportunity meet new ones too!

On the Bobcat stand will be a range of “high productivity” commercial mowers ranging from the unique 28” narrow access unit  up to the 72” wide area rider mower with all the “bells and whistles” plus the 36” QuickCat “stand- on” mower which is probably the most productive Bobcat mower in the range. Great visibility ,short chassis and narrow width.

Productive Zero Turn Mowers Return to SALTEX

Zero turn mowers are amongst the most productive mowers available because of their manoeuvrability and ability to turn in their own footprint which can dramatically cut down the amount of time cutting grass plus much less strimming is needed because the machines can get very close to obstacles.

Visitors will be made very welcome on Stand Number LO42 and customers will be sure to benefit from a visit.
