Ecorobotix steps strongly into sustainable golf

Ecorobotix steps strongly into sustainable golf: Swiss company Ecorobotix has added to its exciting entry into golf with the announcement of a multi-year collaboration with longstanding sustainability partner to the industry – GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation.

The move compliments the company’s global launch of ALBA – the new, ultra-high precision turfgrass application equipment, which is currently being profiled at back to back BIGGA and GCSAA industry events in Europe and the US. Ecorobotix is a certified B Corp and a UK signatory to the UN Global Compact.

Ecorobotix joins a diverse range of other leading industry stakeholders, including national and international associations, tours, companies, clubs, developments, tournaments and players that are already connected through the Foundation’s collaborative work and non-profit resources.

Speaking about the relationship Claude Juriens, CRO of Ecorobotix said – “2026 is a very exciting year for us.  It sees us enter the global golf market with brand new technology that combines custom software and hardware to reduce inputs into turfgrass by as much as 90%. This is technology with a well proven track record across agriculture, now fully adapted for fine turf.

“As a demonstration of our commitment to the importance of sustainability to golf, we are delighted to also collaborate with GEO Foundation. Over the last 20 years they have helped build an important collaborative platform of partners, resources and expertise that is helping to advance golf’s collective action and its stewardship.”

Jonathan Smith, Executive Director of GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation said:  “Sustainability at scale takes a full team effort – involving leadership, innovation and collaboration from many diverse stakeholders. Ecorobotix bring all of those things to the industry.  Their support is a great boost in our missions to help more parts of golf get engaged, accelerate their efforts and promote their results. It’s a movement that continues to be so important to the future of golf and communities around the world.”

A specific focus of joint activities will be the promotion of the science of ‘ultra-high precision’ applications to turf.  Focussing on how improved targeting at scale can lead to significant further reductions in chemical use and associated water and fertiliser inputs.

Efficiency and safety gains with switch to Aspen Fuel

Efficiency and safety gains with switch to Aspen Fuel: Having read about the positive experiences of other clubs making the switch, the team at Gloucestershire’s Minchinhampton Golf Club are themselves now discovering the efficiency and safety benefits of Aspen alkylate petrol.

Used across a suite of 2-stroke equipment, club Mechanic Tom Dorey notes the significant reduction in costly faults and breakdowns, while its delivery by the barrel has reduced the time and risks associated with transporting fuel from the forecourt.

Minchinhampton comprises of 36-holes at the New Course site along with a further 18-holes at the historic Old Course – established in 1889 and situated 4 miles away on SSSI common land, managed in partnership with the National Trust. The third, the parkland Avening Course, has been used on multiple occasions as an Open Qualifying venue. Looking after the maintenance is a team of 17 greenkeepers who, alongside Mechanic Tom, keep the large machinery fleet and busy courses in tip-top condition.

“I was familiar with Aspen Fuel from personal experience but was seeing more articles in the press about facilities switching over and felt it was worth exploring” explains Tom. “We spoke with some other golf clubs and then met with Aspen’s Roy Narbey at BTME in 2025 who arranged a trial of Aspen-2 for us. The rest, as they say, is history and we’ve recently just taken delivery of our second barrel.”

Being virtually free from ethanol, aromatics and benzene Aspen alkylate petrol presents a 99% cleaner fuel when compared with traditional pump fuel. The significantly reduced emissions not only benefit the health and safety of the operator but also contributes to increased sustainability standards, helping the team to meet the courses environmental responsibilities.

Like other Aspen users, Minchinhampton quickly discovered the immediate benefits but were pleasantly surprised by the further ‘wins’ that came from the switch. “The difference was notable almost immediately. The team all commented on the better working environment when using tools such as backpack blowers and hedgecutters and reported the reduction in fumes and headaches as soon as we switched.” Tom adds, “In the workshop, servicing of the equipment is now much simpler. I haven’t had to spend time repairing or replacing gummed up carburettors, saving us money and enhancing the overall lifespan of the engines and the equipment.”

Aspen-2’s pre-mixed formula has also eliminated issues with incorrect mixture ratios. “Convenience has been another big plus point, with the fuel readily available on site, pre-mixed so there’s no risk of issues associated with incorrect fuel and oil ratios.”

“The support from Roy throughout the trial and in getting us up and running has also been brilliant. He gave us lots of hints and tips for correct pump operation and getting the most from our equipment.” He concludes, “The experience has been incredibly positive and eventually we hope to extend our use to Aspen-4 for the cleaner running of some of our larger equipment.”

STIGA’s Autonomous range with ‘Vista Technology’

STIGA’s Autonomous range with ‘Vista Technology’: STIGAleading European manufacturer of garden machinery, is raising the bar in smart lawn care with the launch of nine new autonomous robot mowers featuring STIGA Vista Technology. The innovative AI-driven camera and new Antenna-FREE feature make these mowers smarter, faster, and easier to use than ever — delivering a perfectly healthy lawn with zero effort.

Intelligent, Fully Autonomous Mowing

At the heart of the range is STIGA Vista Technology, a new AI-driven on-board camera that allows the robots to see and understand their surroundings. The system distinguishes grass in all shapes and colours from non-grass surfaces and navigates safely around fixed or moving obstacles, ensuring continuous mowing with minimal interruptions. Equipped with HDR global shutter technology, robust aluminium housing, and Gorilla Glass protection, the camera guarantees accuracy and durability, while a front LED light enhances visibility when needed. STIGA’s Active Guidance System (AGS) analyses satellite signal quality in real time, optimising mowing sessions even under unstable conditions. Now powered by a quad-band RTK-GNSS engine that provides stronger GPS reception, the robot offers extreme navigation accuracy and smoother operation, even in challenging environments such as under trees or near buildings, ensuring reliable and precise performance. The new Antenna-FREE feature removes the need for cables or reference stations, allowing flexible placement of the charging base and faster, simpler setup — maximising the device’s productivity with minimal effort.
