BOSS ORV appointed distributors for Powerland

BOSS ORV appointed distributors for Powerland: Off-road vehicle specialists BOSS ORV have been appointed sole UK distributors for Powerland Agro Tractor Vehicles Pvt. Limited. Powerland is the company behind the development and manufacturer of the Tachyon fully electric ATV in Goa, India. BOSS ORV Managing Director, Phil Everett, made the announcement.

“I have known Tej Naik and his family for many years,” he says, “and we have been in constant communication over this time. We have watched with great excitement how the business and products have developed. The factory in Goa has become a fully independent facility, manufacturing the complete vehicles in-house, including their own chassis. We took the opportunity to visit their stand at the EICMA event in Milan and seal the deal with a long-term distribution contract. The Tachyon is now the complete fully electric (Li-ion) ATV, which is road legal with tractor homologation and the time is right to launch it into our market.”

The Naik family had, for a long time, harboured the ambition to produce their own automotive vehicles and decided to manufacture ATVs locally to cut down on costs and make the product affordable for Indian customers. Today, the company is rapidly growing with the production of the Tachyon, which is now being exported as far away as South America and the USA.

Tej Naik says, “we’re excited to have Phil Everett and BOSS ORV as our exclusive partner for the UK. Phil, with his expertise in the ATV/UTV business for more than 25 years, will definitely help us in scaling up the business and making better products to satisfy the requirements of customers in the off-road market.”

Powerland expects to increase its team size to five hundred employees in the next three years. Phil Everett says he will be sharing more product details over the coming weeks and suffice to say, BOSS ORV are looking forward to developing the Powerland brand and business in the UK.  The Tachyon will be exhibited for the first time in the UK at the Lamma Show 2024 on stand number 6.924.

Pellenc products certified LONGTIME®

Pellenc products certified LONGTIME®: Committed for many years to the durability of its products, Pellenc is pleased to announce that they have obtained LONGTIME® certification for 4 of its professional tools.

Sustainability, a Pellenc requirement

One of the most effective strategies to reduce the environmental impact of a product is to extend its lifespan. Pellenc has been mobilising its R&D teams for many years in order to offer equipment that is ever more durable, robust and repairable over time.

The Helion 3, the Airion 3, and the ULIB 1200 & 1500 batteries have been awarded the European LONGTIME® label after a strict and impartial control carried out by APAVE Certification.

This demanding process made it possible to assess the compliance of these products with the 41 criteria of the label, which focus on robustness, repairability and the monitoring and maintenance of the tools.

  1. The Helion 3 hedge trimmer has a reliable brushless electric motor, a robust cutterbar, and the materials of which it is composed, insensitive to corrosion, have been selected for their compatibility with intensive use and for their resistance to impacts.
  2. The Airion 3 blower features replaceable and repairable magnesium parts.
  3. The ULIB 1200 & 1500 batteries are composed of very high-capacity lithium-ion cells and offer a lifespan of more than 1,300 charge cycles.

The design of Pellenc products is based on a long service life and ease of repair under professional operating conditions. The end of life is delayed, and the environmental impact is significantly reduced. By voluntarily committing to this sustainability approach, Pellenc goes beyond the regulation of the repairability index and is fully committed to the fight against planned obsolescence and respect for the environment.

LONGTIME,® a tool against planned obsolescence

Created by Ethikis ad civis, LONGTIME® is the first European and independent label that identifies and promotes products that are designed to last. Because extending the lifespan is one of the most effective strategies for reducing the environmental impact of a product, Pellenc mobilises its research and development teams to offer consumers ever more sustainable products.

To claim this label, Pellenc has met all the criteria, thus validating the company’s integrated strategy, focused on quality and sustainability.

Elsa, co-founder of Ethikis, said: “We are proud that manufacturers are using the label to objectively inform consumers about the sustainability of the products they sell to consumers. Committing to the LONGTIME® approach means demonstrating transparency and we are delighted that Pellenc has joined this approach.”

Pellenc is distributed exclusively in the UK by Etesia UK.

Weathering winter

Weathering winter: Winter servicing, it’s a job that’s got to be done, and there are a few simple guidelines to aid the process: choose Toro genuine parts for an improved total cost of ownership (TCO).

When it comes to choosing machinery parts, TCO, the data driven perspective for determining the economic value of the investment, stands up for parts just as much as when choosing a machine.

Weathering winter

Getting the very best TCO and return on investment when it comes to parts is simple: buy genuine. Performance (productivity), reliability (downtime) and durability (longevity for residual value) are all enhanced and guaranteed when the parts are built specifically for the machine.

So just how genuine is genuine? Michael Hampton, parts manager at Reesink Turfcare, says: “It’s the quality of the design and the unparalleled attention to detail that make the difference for Toro machinery. It’s the same with Toro parts.”

The Toro parts Reesink sells for aftermarket service are the same parts used on the production lines to build the original equipment; all manufactured with reliable, high-quality materials to ensure maximum performance with less downtime. As Michael says: “It doesn’t get much more genuine than that.

“They’ve all been tested and retested to make sure they can withstand the daily stress that keeping the course in top condition demands, even in the cold, snowy, frosty, damp or hard conditions of winter.”

Michael continues: “In challenging economic times, it’s natural to look for ways to cut expenses, but substituting for will-fit parts shouldn’t be one of them. That’s one area where the initial savings can often cost more down the road. Genuine Toro parts are designed to help keep equipment running like the day it was bought, stretch that investment further and stay more productive in the long run.”

Looking after machines properly during winter means that come springtime, they are in the best possible condition but using Toro genuine parts means they’ll be in the best possible condition for years to come too.

Reesink offers industry-leading fill rates and delivery within 24 hours on most parts, and it has schemes to take care of routine maintenance. There are three ReeAssure schemes all of which make servicing easy and flexible according to requirements and finances. And, of course, for guaranteed reliability, only genuine parts are used.

To stock up on Toro parts or for winter machinery maintenance advice, customers can get in touch with their local Toro genuine parts dealer or service centre or contact Reesink via reesinkturfcare.co.uk

Sustainable Earth Course enhancements

Sustainable Earth Course enhancements: The Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates has undergone a sustainable rejuvenation ahead of the DP World Tour Championship, the final event in this year’s Race to Dubai.

With multiple course changes designed to improve the aesthetic and playing experience, one of the notable upgrades is the complete replacement of sand in all 100 bunkers on the Earth Course. In a commitment to environmental responsibility, the additional sand is both new and recycled, with a particularly vibrant white appearance that complements the desert backdrop. On the 10th hole, the bunkers have undergone a more comprehensive refurbishment, to ensure optimal playing conditions and a strategic challenge.

Sustainable Earth Course enhancements

The main playing areas on the course are flanked by wood chips that add a contrast to the green course and sandy desert. To recreate the bright red aesthetic that has become synonymous with the Earth Course, the team has replaced all wood chips surrounding each hole on the course ahead of this year’s DP World Tour Championship. The red-coloured wood chips provide a vivid colour contrast and are all produced on-site by the maintenance team.

Stephen Hubner, Club Manager at Jumeirah Golf Estates, commented: “The Earth Course is recognised around the world as being home to the DP World Tour Championship and conclusion of the Race to Dubai. One of the course’s most redeeming features is the wonderful colour contrast that we can achieve with the bright white sand and the deep red-coloured wood chips which line the side of each hole – providing the earthy look.”

Stuart Horwood, the club’s Superintendent, added: “It is a huge undertaking for us to totally remove and replace the woodchip around the course and the sand in each bunker, but something that we feel is crucial in order to maintain the famed aesthetic that the Earth Course has earned. It was also important that we completed this task in the most sustainable way possible, so we used recycled sand and produced our wood chips on-site. The team have done a great job of enhancing the course for what is a key date in our calendar.”

The Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates has been host of the DP World Tour’s pinnacle event for more than 10 years and will remain the host venue until 2031. In that time, some of the game’s biggest names have hoisted the Harry Vardon Trophy, for the champion of the Race to Dubai. In 2022, Rory McIlroy was crowned champion for the fourth time in his career. Other recent winners include: Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, and recent Ryder Cup winning Captain, Luke Donald.

The 2023 Race to Dubai is also set to go to the Northern Irishman, as the points standings after Max Homa’s first DP World Tour victory in South Africa mean that world number two, McIlroy, cannot be caught by second placed Jon Rahm. This will mark his fifth Race to Dubai title.

Jumeirah Golf Estates is a world-class residential golf destination offering luxury homes and leisure facilities amidst two internationally acclaimed championship golf courses, creating an unmatched lifestyle experience in the heart of new Dubai.

Set across 1,119 hectares of lush green landscape, the development is an unrivalled destination offering attractive investment opportunities and world-class amenities. With 700 families and more than 1,835 homes, Jumeirah Golf Estates currently comprises of 16 unique communities, which overlook two of the world’s finest golf courses, Earth and Fire.

As home of the annual DP World Tour championship since 2009, Jumeirah Golf Estates rivals the best golfing destinations in the world.

Trio of INFINICUT’s deliver impressive quality

Trio of INFINICUT’s deliver impressive quality: Three 22” INFINICUT® golf cutting units are described as delivering outstanding cut performance on the 18 greens of Hallamshire Golf Club.

The trio of battery powered mowers are the latest step in the club’s environmental strategy and are giving Course Manager Ben Burrill and the team not just quality of cut, but enough run-time to mow all greens and return to the shed with as much as 60% charge remaining!

Trio of INFINICUT’s deliver impressive quality

Nestled between Sheffield and the Peak District National Park, Hallamshire’s heathland course boasts year-round condition, with their greens renowned in the region for speed and consistency. Proudly hand-cut, this has been executed with the new fleet of INFINICUT® 22” mowers, since their delivery in May 2023 by local dealers Balmers GM. “Our previous pedestrian mowers were reaching the end of their working life and, with the club actively encouraging more sustainable alternatives, I had demonstrations of the different battery options available” explains Ben. “The price point of the INFINICUT® was better and, compared to the other brands we tried, the battery life impressed us straight away.”

“In practice, we can get as many as nine greens done with one mower which, with three in the shed, is above and beyond what we need. Even working on a 25% reduction in battery life over the next five years, we’ll still be able to cut all 18 greens relatively comfortably.” He continues, “Charging them has just become part of the daily routine. They return to the shed with anywhere between 40-60% charge left, we plug them in, and they quickly get to full charge and sit ready for the next day.”

Launched in early 2023, the INFINICUT® 22” cutting unit promises even more refinement for turf management, incorporating many of the features synonymous with the INFINICUT® range together with precise cut quality from the dynamically-balanced SMARTCut™ reel. “We opted for the 14-blade cutting reels which increases the clips per inch and works really well for us, delivering an outstanding quality of cut and finish.”

“We were also able to specify 3mm groomer spacing to manage the lateral growth on our bent greens which other manufacturers would have been unlikely to be able to accommodate.” Ben adds, “The team have been very impressed with the simplicity in functionality, things like the sensor in the floating head which automatically slows the mower down when lifted for easier end of line turning. They’re well designed and will be critical to the delivery of our course, in a more environmentally-friendly way, for the years to come.”
