Assistant Grounds Staff

The Club operates across multiple sites, including a world-class Training Centre, where the position of Assistant Grounds Staff is based.  The Centre is the main location for the Club’s First Team training and coaching activities, and its impeccable presentation is one of the many features that have led to it being recognised as one of the best training facilities in Europe.

Candidate profile:
The successful candidate will work within a team of 16 grounds staff, helping to ensure the grounds meet the highest possible standard. They will be hard working, enthusiastic and have a strong focus on quality. The position requires flexible candidates that are willing to work some unsociable hours (to include weekends and bank holidays, within a rota system). The successful candidate will also need to complete a DBS check.

Job purpose:
To be responsible for the efficient day-to-day maintenance of the pitches and surrounding landscape of Tottenham Hotspur’s Training Centre, showing both proactiveness and teamwork.

Key responsibilites: 
→ Ensure that the pitches meet the exceptional quality standards required by Tottenham Hotspur Football Club
→ Use pedestrian and ride on mowers on football pitches and lawns
→ Assist in the renovation of pitches and grass areas
→ Mark out pitches
→ Clean equipment and wash down areas
→ Ad hoc duties as and when required
→ Monitor pitches on a daily basis, record all appropriate information and act promptly to resolve issues
→ Take reasonable care concerning own health and safety and that of persons who may be affected by the performance of these duties
→ Ensure equipment and materials are available when required
→ Keep all equipment and materials in good condition
→ Keep abreast of all relevant industry developments

Essential requirements:
→ NVQ Level 2 or above in Groundsmanship or equivalent
→ Previous experience of using a wide range of turf care equipment
→ Full driving licence

Desirable requirements:
→ Spraying certificates PA1, 2 and 6 desirable but not essential

ASSISTANT GREENKEEPER.

We are looking for ambitious individuals to join our Greenkeeping team. The successful candidate will have a passion for their chosen career and be motivated to work to the highest standards.

The ideal applicant will have experience as an Assistant Greenkeeper, a positive attitude and a commitment to all aspects of their professional development with an interest in golf.

The role is based on 40 hours per week plus additional overtime to cover weekends, maintenance weeks and tournament preparation. Flexibility around the needs of the business is a pre-requisite.

Salary & benefits package value circa £28k which will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Assistant Greenkeeper

Located on the North Coast of Cornwall, this 18 hole Harry Colt designed course offers a true test of golf and has outstanding views across the Atlantic Ocean.

Formed in 1890 Newquay is one of the leading courses in the region and regularly hosts the Cornwall Amateur Championship and other county competitions.

We are inviting applications for a highly motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic full-time Assistant Greenkeeper.

Requirements:

The successful candidate ideally will have the following qualifications and skills:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience

• Qualified to NVQ 2 or equivalent

• PA1 and PA6 Spraying Certificates

• A self-motivated team player with a can-do attitude

• Ability to produce and maintain high standards of work

• Have a good understanding of machinery operation

• Ability to carry out work in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines
