Adam Butler, sales director of Baroness adds, “It’s very exciting times for Baroness. To stay in line with our company’s business plan for the continued growth of Baroness & AgriMetal products in the UK, and our association with other Japanese made products. We really feel our new partnership with Henton & Chattell is a great fit for all and very much look forward to working with the whole team. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the team at PS Marsden, who have done a fantastic job supporting Baroness in the area over the past few years, and wish them all the very best for the future.”

Baroness, renowned for its high-quality mowers and meticulous craftsmanship by Japanese engineers, has gained recognition worldwide for delivering impressive cutting quality. The longevity of Baroness products is exemplified by their durable cylinder blades and bed knives. With over a century of successful operations, Baroness continues to be a market leader globally.

“We are excited to be joining the Baroness dealer network later this year,” said Peter Chaloner, Managing Director of Henton & Chattell. “Baroness machinery is well-regarded for its market-leading cut quality and impressive blade durability, which has led to a growing number of golf courses making the switch to Baroness. Vanmac not to be missed at SALTEX

Vanmac not to be missed at SALTEX: A stop by the Vanmac stand at SALTEX 2023 is one that can’t be missed… literally! Retaking their place on K070 directly in-front of the show entrance, the stand will be jam-packed with equipment from leading brands including Progressive and Trilo.

Particular highlights promise to be the multi-functional Trilo M4 collector and the Progressive TDR-15 – the ideal roller finishing mower for local authorities, estates and sports facilities.

Where other vacuum collectors spend the months outside of leaf-fall season in the shed, the M4 from Trilo works on. Proving that multi-purpose doesn’t have to mean a compromise in performance, a range of shaft options are available for the M4 making it ideal for tasks around the maintenance calendar. When not collecting leaves, clippings and other debris in the autumn, the modular unit can be equipped with a scarifier shaft for the effective scarification of large areas such as parks or fairways – with all material collected into the 4m3 hopper on the same single pass. Alternatively, a flail shaft can be fitted for quick and convenient cut and collection of areas such as golf roughs and roadside verges.

If it is leaf collection on the agenda, then Vanmac will also be showcasing a number of other solutions in the form of the towable SU60 vacuum collector and the BL960 blower. As the largest blower in the Trilo range, the BL960 requires a 50hp tractor, has a capacity of 385m3/min and delivers an airspeed of 75m/s which makes it a popular choice for large areas. In addition, the exhaust spout can be hydraulically adjusted to deliver powerful airflow in any desired direction.

From the Progressive portfolio of trailed and mounted rotary mowers, the TDR-15 will be the focus. With a combined cutting width of just over 4.5m across the three decks, the versatile TDR-15 combines efficiency with superior cut quality and presentation thanks to the high-tip speed blades and full-width, heavy-duty rollers which deliver an impeccable stripe. Changing the height of cut is easy, while Progressive’s Pro Lift-N-Turn™ feature allows the decks to be raised slightly with the PTO still engaged to make manoeuvring around the course or around obstacles quick and simple.

The Vanmac technical team will be on hand on stand K070 across the two days to discuss the full range of machinery from their grounds and greenkeeping portfolio.

Cain Markings claim Aspen Fuel to be the perfect choice

Cain Markings claim Aspen Fuel to be the perfect choice: After choosing Aspen Fuel to power their business just six months after opening in 2017, Cain Markings now claim to be firm believers of the product and the benefits it brings to the operator, their machinery and the surrounding environment.

Fuelling a range of 2 and 4-stroke equipment for sports maintenance and line marking, Owner Sam Cain explains how efficiency and reliability have improved saving the team time and reducing costly repair bills!

Cain Markings claim Aspen Fuel to be the perfect choice

Young GMA Board Member Sam Cain founded Cain Markings alongside his parents six years ago, the three-strong team providing a range of contract services to commercial customers in Hertfordshire and across the South East. “We were undergoing training on some new equipment with High Five Training who asked us whether we’d considered using Aspen Fuel” explains Sam. “The first thing I thought was the advantage of Aspen 2 being pre-mixed which eliminates the risk of getting the ratios wrong but the more I read, the more benefits I discovered, and it quickly became a no-brainer. We’ve never looked back.”

Being virtually free from sulphur, benzene and other solvents means Aspen Alkylate Fuel burns cleaner, reducing harmful emissions – important for many businesses, but a necessity for Sam who delivers a large number of contracts in schools and other enclosed environments. “The reduction in pollution and smell is a major plus and makes for a much more pleasant environment for the operator and those in and around the worksite.”

“We’re using Aspen in all of our petrol equipment including blowers, strimmers, hedge cutters and some of our ride-on artificial turf equipment.” He continues, “The majority of our work is conducted between the spring and autumn which sometimes means our kit will spend periods of the year in storage. Because Aspen is ethanol-free, we find that we can get equipment out after being dormant for months and it will still start first-time.”

“That extends more generally to the overall health of our machines. We definitely see fewer engine-related issues and, when we do, as soon as we tell the mechanic we use Aspen they all-but eliminate it being a fuel problem.”

Sam purchases the Alkylate Fuel from Hertfordshire Garden Machinery, adding convenience and control to their supply. “We easily keep track of how much we’re using which helps us with budgeting etc.” He concludes, “We tell other contractors about the benefits and as soon as people try it, then see exactly what we mean… Even down to the can and automatic stopping nozzle which reduces spillages – it’s great!”
