In line with the scientific projections and Government instructions, Bernhard and Company has come to the decision to suspend its operations with immediate effect on March 24th.

Steven Nixon, Director of Bernhard Company, explained: “Nobody knows how long this crisis will last but clearly it will become much more difficult to continue to trade for several months. However, we will keep customers and partners up to date with developments and will review the situation weekly, observing always the government’s advice.”

The unprecedented impact of Coronavirus on businesses globally is an enormous challenge. Many businesses must dramatically curtail operations. We are doing that now but with great care to safeguard our staff and the teams who work with us. In due course we will be able to share our plans for the better times that will return.

Please be patient during this extraordinary time of worry and its threats to our health and wellbeing. Thank you, our employees, customers, suppliers and partners, for your continued support. We’ll be in touch with you again soon with updates on the situation and how we are dealing with it. You’ll be kept in the loop with details of our progress.

Bernhard Launch Training Academy

Bernhard Launch Training Academy: 11th June 2019 sees the launch of the Bernhard Academy at the company’s factory facilities in Haverhill, Suffolk.

The Bernhard Academy is set to become a hub of knowledge for the turf industry and a centre promoting learning and development across the globe. In addition to promoting education to UK turf specialists, the Academy will develop a training programme for Bernhard’s distributors from across the US, Asia and Europe to help enhance their knowledge of turf health solutions.

Working in partnership with Mow-Sure Training Ltd, the Academy aims to train customers, technicians and distributors’ sales team to promote turf health, cutting precision and superior playability and eventually to get the most out of Bernhard’s product portfolio.

The accredited training will be delivered in several formats at the purpose-built facility at Haverhill, hands-on training, theory or via online learning. A wide range of modular and short courses is planned, with the two signature courses being a Turf Technician Course and a Turf Manager’s Course.

New Bernhard Sharpening System: BIGGA’s Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) at Harrogate gave turf professionals their first opportunity to see Bernhard and Company’s Anglemaster 4500 – a revolutionary automated sharpening system.

Sporting an unrivalled control system, the Anglemaster 4500 delivers even sharper accuracy. The use of RFID technology allows different users and set-ups to be easily recalled, making the new bedknife grinder the most flexible system within the range. Meanwhile the smart motors provide variable speed, enabling users to match the most efficient speed to the stone required for the material of the blade.

Working alongside the Express Dual 4250, its new drive adaptors and fully automated feed system through touchscreen operator interface mean that sharpening your mowers has become much smarter than it has ever been before.

Steven Nixon, Director for Bernhard and Company, said: “We have had a fantastic year at Bernhard and we are confident that the new additions to the range will provide equipment managers and mechanics with a greater choice of machines that adapt to different ways of working.”

Matt Bloomfield, Engineering Manager for Bernhard and Company, added: “We were extremely pleased to see the response we had at BTME to the Anglemaster 4500 and we are very excited to present yet more innovations at GIS.”

Bernhard will be at the GCSAA Golf Industry Show on stand 3652 on 6th and 7th February to present the Anglemaster 4500 and other new sharpening systems, as well as the brand new golf lighting rig from MLR.
