The BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) saw turf professionals and some of the most influential figures behind the sport of golf gather at the Harrogate Convention Centre in North Yorkshire. Held alongside BIGGA’s Continue to Learn education programme, the best learning opportunity in Europe for golf greenkeepers, BTME is considered among the most important events in the golf industry due to the development opportunities and access to the latest technology and innovations afforded to golf greenkeepers and club officials.

Across three show days, 4,204 visitors walked through the doors of the convention centre, where 157 exhibitors provided a warm welcome. Visitors stayed for an average of 1.56 days and of those who came to Harrogate, 10% were from overseas.

The Continue to Learn programme was 99% sold out with 1,220 places pre-booked across the Classes and Conferences schedule. Accompanied by two outstanding free-to-attend seminar programmes throughout the show, the popularity of Continue to Learn solidifies its importance in the training and development of the greenkeeping and wider turf management community.

A large number of product launches and major industry announcements took place during BTME and you can find details of these in the Digital Media Centre on the BTME website.

A wide variety of events also took place during BTME, strengthening the festival feel of the entire week. Organisations such as The R&A, Bernhard and Company, ICL and others hosted events, while the Golf Environment Awards also took place. The BIGGA Celebration with Kress revealed the winners of this year’s BIGGA Awards and the Syngenta-sponsored Early Bird Run raised £810 for the Greenkeepers’ Benevolent Fund. The Monster Putt with Huxley Golf raised a further £957 for BIGGA’s charity, which supports members and their families in need.

Jim Croxton, BIGGA CEO, said: “BTME 2025 has been a resounding success, not only in terms of attendance but also in the invaluable opportunities it has provided for learning, networking and innovation within our industry. With over 4,200 visitors and more exhibitors and educational opportunities than ever before, it’s clear that BTME remains a cornerstone of the golf and turf management calendar and we’re excited to welcome everyone back to Harrogate in January 2026 for what we are certain will be another exciting and vibrant BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition.”

At BTME, BIGGA also revealed a three-pronged strategy that will further advance the ambitions of the association in its role as a prominent figurehead within the golf industry. Informed by the recent membership survey undertaken by the association, alongside an extensive consultation period, the refocused strategy will ensure BIGGA remains a strong and influential voice, effectively representing its members on an international scale and supporting them in their professional ambitions.

Jim Croxton, BIGGA CEO, said: “We had an absolutely fantastic response to our membership survey at the back end of 2024. Thank you so much to all the members and non-members who responded and gave their views on our association, membership, the initiatives we run and the work we’re doing to improve the greenkeeping industry. All the results of the survey are helping us refine our strategy.”

The key strategic pillars are:

  • Increasing membership numbers as a unified greenkeeping community is better able to positively influence the sport of golf.
  • Increasing engagement in BIGGA activity and evolving the membership offering to ensure all members, at every stage of their career, can get involved, become better educated and progress through their careers.
  • Advancing BIGGA’s advocacy efforts to positively influence the governance structure within golf facilities, ensuring greenkeepers are recognised as critical to the success of the sport.

These strategic pillars will inform BIGGA’s activities over the coming period and further updates will be revealed in due course.

The BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition and Continue to Learn education programme are hosted by BIGGA and take place at the Harrogate Convention Centre in North Yorkshire. The trade show will return on 20 to 22 January 2026, with Continue to Learn taking place from 18 to 21 January 2026.

Positioned at Stand 100 in Hall 1, the GreenBest booth attracted significant attention from attendees, helping to generate new prospective leads while allowing the team to reconnect with existing distributors and customers. GreenBest’s Bespoke Fertiliser services alongside their popular Velvit Fertilisers and other stocked ranges were proudly showcased.

BTME also provided the perfect platform to share the exciting news of GreenBest’s recent acquisition by ICL. This transition signifies an exciting new chapter for both companies. GreenBest remains a British-owned, managed, and operated company, with products continuing to be manufactured in the UK.

The acquisition by ICL offers GreenBest access to the highest-quality ingredients and additional investment into their production facilities. With support from Cleveland Potash Ltd and ICL Growing Solutions, GreenBest is poised to enhance their production capabilities, further improving the quality of their products and enabling the delivery of innovative and reliable solutions.

The Bespoke Fertiliser services, along with the Velvit, SmartLawn, and Florifeed brands, remain at the core of GreenBest’s offerings. This acquisition reinforces the strengths of both GreenBest and ICL, allowing them both to better serve their customers’ needs.

Aimee Davey, Marketing Manager at GreenBest, reflected on the importance of BTME: “Industry shows such as BTME are important to GreenBest. They help to enhance our brand presence, liaise with new and prospective customers, and support our current distributors. We’re thrilled with the outcomes of BTME and look forward to being back at the Harrogate Convention Centre in 2026.”

A highlight of BTME 2025 was a seminar presented by Daisy Lacey BSc (Hons) MBPR (FACTS) during the Continue To Learn Programme. Her talk, titled “How Are Fertilisers Made and Where Do They Come From?”, captivated attendees by exploring the origins of fertiliser materials—Mined, Made, Grown, and Recycled. Attendees also had the chance to gain one CPD point from the seminar.

GreenBest confirmed that they will be exhibiting at BTME 2026, scheduled to take place from 20th-22nd January 2026. ICL and GreenBest’s plans to innovate, grow, and strengthen their relationships within the turf management industry continues throughout 2025 and beyond.

Reesink brings the next big things to BTME

Reesink brings the next big things to BTME: Three Toro product launches tee off 2025. Debuting at BTME, these machines are tomorrow’s technology for the golf course industry and headline on Reesink Turfcare’s stand which has a focus on sustainability.

Full details of the machines are under wraps until the show, but what Reesink can reveal is that these launches are the culmination of years of research from Toro to make the next technological leap for the industry a reality.

Jon Cole, Divisional Business Manager, Reesink Turfcare, says: “These machines are what the industry has been waiting for. To be able to bring this leading technology and the benefits it brings to the UK and Ireland is an honour for Reesink and we look forward to unveiling them at BTME on stand 622.”

Joining them are Toro’s two electric pedestrian mowers – the Toro Greensmaster eFlex 1021 and Greensmaster e1026 and the electric ride-on greensmower, the Greensmaster eTriFlex 3370. Battery-powered course transport in the form of the STAR Sirius 2 Pro golf buggy and innovative KAASPEED course scooter for members complete the electric line-up.

Adding to the line-up debuts and new technology is the Toro GeoLink rover kit on the updated now battery-powered Toro Workman MDX Lithium utility vehicle. The satellite mapping technology allows for easy and accurate pinpoint course surveying to understand the layout and characteristics of the course, its signal strengths and suitability to make use of this innovative and multiple saving technology.

With a focus on water sustainability and providing products that allow for course managers to act as a guardian of the resource, Reesink Hydro-Scapes will be bringing the most advanced central control irrigation system, controllers and sprinklers from Toro. There will be a stand dedicated to demonstrating the legacy of Toro and how Toro sprinklers are built future proofed with forwards and backwards compatibility.

Also, on display will be two of the best-selling and most popular water aerators for creating the cleanest, healthiest water quality and preventative evaporation management, for your lakes, ponds, and reservoirs from Otterbine.

Visitors to BMTE can see all this as well as meet with Reesink representatives to discuss their course and club turfcare machinery requirements on stand 622.
