Scarify and aerate with Cobra

Scarify and aerate with Cobra: The Cobra SA40E electric scarifier is fully equipped for removing unwanted moss and thatch from lawns, and comes with a scarifying drum and a bladed aerator that can be easily swapped for ultimate flexibility.

The brand proudly boasts the title of having the UK’s largest range of powered lawnmowers and continues to develop its products to further its position as the expert in the lawncare market.  The SA40E lawn scarifier is the latest extension of this.

The machine is powered by a 1800 watt motor and has just under a 16 inch working width. Debris is collected in a sizable 40 litre collection bag, made from a fabric that allows free air flow, resulting in more compact collection and fewer stops to empty.

The 10 meter long cable ensures scarifying of domestic gardens without the need of an extention lead, and the height is adjustable between four settings from -12mm to 8mm.

The Cobra scarifying drum has a series of sharp spring tines that rotate at high speed and rake the turf, whilst the bladed aerator has 14 high quality steel blades to alleviate soil compaction by cutting into the turf vertically.

Peter Chaloner, managing director of Cobra, said: “Cobra scarifiers are packed with innovative, ground-breaking features to help you maintain your garden with minimum time and effort. The SA40E is ideal for fast removal of unwanted moss, thatch, weeds and other debris. Using it just once a month will result in more room for your grass to grow. This improves water, feed and oxygen penetration that results in better quality, stronger roots, meaning a more resilient lawn.”

For gardeners looking for a solution to end hours of raking, forking and scraping to create the perfect lawn, the SA40E is the ideal option.

Cobra products are available to buy online at www.cobragarden.co.uk or via a network of expert dealers across the UK.

New 80V range from Cobra

New 80V range from Cobra: The new 80V cordless range of lawnmowers from Cobra packs double the punch, with twin 40V Lithium-ion batteries delivering 80 volts of pure cutting power.

The brand has the UK’s largest range of powered lawnmowers and is constantly expanding its range and developing its products to further its position as the expert in the lawncare market. The 80V range is the latest extension of this, with its three models being packed with innovative features and technology.

The three mowers in the range offer 17”, 20” and 21” cutting widths, generous run times and even rear rollers on the 17 and 20” models for a traditional, striped finish. Each machine is powered by two Samsung 5Ah 40V Lithium-ion batteries that drive the 80V brushless motors. The Cobra 40V Lithium-ion technology means the mowers are always ready to use, will hold charge capacity and have no memory effect.

The RM43SP80V is the most compact of the three, with a 17” cutting width, and it is a great all-rounder, with a minute run time. It is self-propelled, so it’s ideal for sloping gardens and has seven different cutting heights ranging from 17mm for a super low finish, up to 75mm for tackling longer grass. The mower also benefits from a 50 litre grass bag  to hold more cutting for a longer time between bag emptying. Its rear roller means that a professional, striped finish can be created too.

The RM51SP80V keeps all of the impressive features of the RM43SP80V, including the rear roller, but increases the width to 20” and the grass bag to 70 litres. With the ability to run for up to 45 minutes between charges, the mower can complete medium to large sized lawns in one run.

The final, and largest, mower in the range is the MX51S80V. Again, the mower features a self-propelled drive system to allow for ease of use, and has a 20” cutting width and a running time of 55 minutes. This model benefits from a mulching function, allowing the grass to be recycled by finely cutting and re-cutting the clippings. As the clippings decompose, nutrients and fertilisers are returned to the soil meaning grass can be cut and fertilised at the same time – creating a healthy, green lawn.

Peter Chaloner, managing director of Cobra, said: “The 80V range sets a new standard for battery powered garden machinery, providing more power and convenience than ever before. Cobra prides itself on being at the forefront of innovation to help people maintain their gardens with the minimum of effort, and this range is the epitome of that.”

Each of the models comes complete with two 40V 5Ah Lithium-ion batteries and two Fast Chargers. The 40v batteries are compatible with Cobra grass trimmers, chainsaws, hedge cutters and garden vacs.

Winter Warmers From Cobra

Winter Warmers From Cobra: Cosy winter evenings sat warming by the fire will soon be upon us and logs are set to be in great demand this winter, particularly with the rising popularity of log burners.

Whilst picking some up from the local garage or farm shop on your way home may be convenient, it can also be costly and the logs not necessarily the size you need.

Winter Warmers From Cobra

Cutting your own logs is a great way to have the perfect size without the cost premium of shop bought logs – it’s also a great way of getting outdoors and feeling like a true hunter gatherer!

To help with this, Cobra has an extensive range of chainsaws aimed at domestic users. For those wanting the rev of a petrol engine to add to the experience, Cobra has four models of increasing cutting widths and power, ranging from a 14” with a 42cc engine to a 20” with a 62cc engine. Prices start from £154.99. Alternatively, there are also electric models that start at £89.99.

However, for the ultimate in convenience, Cobra has a lithium-ion battery chainsaw which is ready to go at the touch of a button. The CS3540VZ (£149.99) runs for an impressive 50-minutes on a 90-minute charge.

Alternatively, the Cobra log splitter is designed exactly for this task. The LS520H (£269.99), with its 1500w powerful motor and 5.5 tonnes of splitting force, can split logs up to 25cm in diameter in to four with just one stroke. Cobra even has an extensive range of carts and trailers too, to help you transport the logs once cut!

After cutting, clean up the debris using Cobra’s blower/vac. The BV26C (£139.99) is an incredibly powerful blower with a 26cc petrol engine that converts to a vac in an instant, simply by changing tubes so debris can be cleared and collected easily, all by one machine.

Make sure the garden debris and leaves don’t go to waste by helping them return to nature. You can create your own compost or mulch with the Cobra shredder. The electric QS2500 2500W quiet shredder can tackle garden waste up to 40mm in diameter and has an impressive 50 litre collection box. It also come with a plunger to help with increased output for heavier loads.

To further fulfil every need of every gardener Cobra has launched a new range of petrol engines for its machines.

Low-Emission Power From Cobra

Previously Cobra petrol products have been available with Cobra domestic engines, or alternatives from Briggs & Stratton or Honda, but now the company has launched the S-Series to offer exceptional, next-level petrol power with an affordable price tag. Cobra S-Series engines are environmentally friendly, with low emissions that meet the latest EU directive EU-V for emissions. They have a high power to weight ratio that makes the toughest gardening tasks easy and less tiring.

The first products to be available with the brand-new S-Series range of engines are the brushcutters and multitools. There are two new brushcutters available, the BCX230C and the BCX370CU. The robust BCX230C, with a D-Loop handle, has a 23cc S-Series engine that delivers up to 0.77kw of power. The premium BCX370CU provides relentless power of up to 1.2kw courtesy of its 37cc engine. With a bike handle and double shoulder harness it offers extended user comfort. Both models have a nylon head and metal blade.

Cobra has extended its multitool range to offer a new S-Series option too. The MTX230C has a 23cc displacement and is a 4-in-1 system that is equipped for any garden task. It has four attachments that include a grass trimmer, brushcutter, pole pruner and articulating long reach hedgetimmer that reaches up to 72cm. The tool also has an optional extension shaft. It retails at £389.99.

Managing director of Cobra, Peter Chaloner, commented: “We are constantly developing the Cobra range so are really excited to unveil the S-Series. These products deliver low emissions, without compromising on power or value so deliver everything that gardeners need.”
