John Deere dealers commit to strengthening link

John Deere dealers commit to strengthening link: More John Deere dealers have signed the Armed Forces Covenant in support of service leavers who can resettle into roles within the agriculture and turf industries.

At a ceremony held at the National Transition Event at Silverstone Circuit, Hunt Forest Group and Ripon Farm Services added their names to the covenant, which had already been adopted by Ben Burgess and Tallis Amos Group, as well as John Deere itself.

Signatories pledge to ensure that those who serve, or have served, in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly and should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.

The move complements John Deere’s Military Hiring Programme, which offers service leavers new career opportunities to work on some of the world’s most advanced machinery used by farmers and turf professionals.

Members of the armed forces have been identified as ideal candidates to bring their unique skill sets and experience to technician roles within UK and Ireland dealerships.

Those who enrol in the programme are given free, tailored training and are supported to fill vacancies within the dealership network.

“We are passionate about finding a way to give back to those who have served our country,” says Allan Cochran, John Deere Branch Training Manager.

“The armed forces produce people who are highly skilled, motivated and extremely competent, and many already have the engineering skills needed to become qualified technicians.

“It’s the perfect fit for John Deere – we are able to play our part in supporting those resettling following careers in the armed forces while also attracting a different pool of people into the business.”

Interested service members and ex-service members can learn more and fill out a contact card by visiting www.deere.com/JDMHP.

After making contact, they will be put in touch with an individual from the John Deere network who has resettled following a career in the armed forces to discuss all potential options.

Ripon Farm Services

“We are incredibly proud to support people transitioning from military service into new careers with us,” says Phil Gregg, Director of Ripon Farm Services. “Service leaders bring exceptional skills, dedication, and technical expertise that align perfectly with the needs of our industry, and our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant reflects our belief that they deserve clear, meaningful pathways into civilian employment.

“We look forward to supporting them build successful careers with us and through the John Deere Military Hiring Programme.”

Hunt Forest Group

“It was a privilege to represent Hunt Forest Group on the John Deere UK stand at the recent military hiring event at Silverstone,” says Nick Hill, Group Service Manager at Hunt Forest Group. “Meeting so many talented service personnel was a highlight and gave us a great opportunity to showcase our business and the career pathways available through the John Deere Military Hiring Programme.

“We were especially encouraged by the strong interest in technician roles from individuals bringing exceptional experience and technical discipline from their military careers.”

Tallis Amos Group

“After signing the Armed Forces Covenant more than a year ago, Tallis Amos Group continues to reap the benefits of offering resettlement pathways to service leavers who are often ready-made for our business,” says Guy Bunting, Recruitment Coordinator at Tallis Amos Group. “We are proud to offer opportunities to service leavers that include training and development further aiding their transition into civilian life.”

Ben Burgess

“Signing the Armed Forces Covenant reflects our core values as a business,” says Ben Turner, Managing Director at Ben Burgess. “We’re proud to support those who serve and have served, and we’re fortunate to have veterans already working across Ben Burgess whose skills and experience make a real difference every day.”

Introduced to recognise the accomplishments of individuals and teams across the Baroness dealer network, the Baroness UK Dealer awards offer a welcome opportunity to celebrate positivity in what has been another challenging year for the industry. Lister Wilder received the award for the ‘Highest Overall Baroness Machinery Sales’ – retaining the title from 2025. Alongside an outstanding team performance, there was individual recognition for Lister’s Stuart Venn-Dunn, who was presented with the ‘Salesperson of the Year’ award.

“Receiving the award for ‘Highest Overall Machinery Sales’ is fantastic as it recognises the entire teams’ efforts throughout the year” comments Phill Hughes, Sales Director for Lister Wilder. “I am especially pleased for Stuart Venn-Dunn who has been working closely with his golf customers over the last twelve months, as this recognition goes some way to reward him for all the hard work he’s put in. Of course, we couldn’t achieve what we have without the support of Team Baroness and our aftersales departments, so we’d like to thank them all as we look ahead to another positive year in 2026.”

Stuart Venn-Dunn added, “I’m proud to be recognised as Baroness Top Salesperson for 2025. Results like this don’t happen in isolation — they come from collaboration. It starts with the trust of valued customers who offer the initial opportunity and is realised from the hard work and support afforded by the partnership of Lister Wilder and Baroness. When everyone works together, outcomes like this become possible!”

Also honoured were Hamilton Brothers, part of Hamilton Ross Group, securing the accolade of ‘Highest Growth in Baroness Machinery Sales’. Andy Gillies, Groundcare Sales Manager said, “This achievement reflects the dedication of our sales team, together with the wider group whose ongoing commitment and support underpin our performance. Having been a Baroness dealer for six years, we are seeing a positive shift within the industry as awareness and understanding of the Baroness product range continues to grow. By educating our customers and clearly demonstrating the long-term cost efficiencies associated with ownership, including reduced running and maintenance costs, we are helping to support informed purchasing decisions and deliver lasting value.”

He added, “We look forward to continuing our strong working relationship with our Area Sales Manager and the wider Baroness team as we progress on our journey towards becoming the largest machinery dealer in Scotland.”

“All of our dealers once again delivered an outstanding effort throughout 2025, equaling our strongest year to date is an achievement that would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of our entire network,” said Adam Butler, UK Sales Director at Baroness. “We continue to focus on delivering the very best equipment, supported by world-leading backup, and we are making strong progress year on year. The entire Baroness UK team congratulates the Lister Wilder and Hamilton’s teams and thanks all of our dealers and customers for their continued loyalty and support.”

Two New Etesia Dealers Appointed

Two New Etesia Dealers Appointed: Etesia UK is proud to announce the appointment of two new dealers, Luxury Carts Group and Agri-Services Ltd, to cover the West of Scotland, the Highlands, and the central belt.

These appointments ensure continued access to Etesia’s high-performance grass-cutting and green-maintenance equipment following the retirement of Alex McDougall Mowers, who provided loyal service to the Etesia brand for over 30 years.

Les Malin, Managing Director of Etesia UK, expressed his gratitude and optimism for the future: “We thank Alex McDougall Mowers for their decades of dedicated service to Etesia. As they retire, we welcome two new dealers into the network to continue serving these key areas: Luxury Carts and Agri-Services. Both dealers share our commitment to providing exceptional customer service and high-quality machinery, and we are excited about the opportunities this brings.”

Based in Denny, Falkirk, Luxury Carts Group has built its reputation on providing luxury golf cart sales alongside a growing portfolio of turf maintenance equipment. This family-run business is expanding its offerings with the addition of Etesia’s renowned products.

Luxury Carts will offer a variety of Etesia’s leading products including walk-behind and ride-on mowers, as well as brushcutters, which are known for their durability, wet-weather performance, and precise grass collection.

Agri-Services Ltd, based in Kilmarnock, is a well-established family business that has served customers in agriculture, horticulture, and grounds care since the 1970s. Now in its third generation, the company continues to grow under the leadership of Director Chris Moir.

Chris shared his excitement about the partnership: “I’ve known about Etesia for a long time and have always admired their machines. When the opportunity arose to take on the dealership after the previous dealer retired, it was a natural fit for us. These machines are exactly what our customers need—reliable, robust, and capable of collecting even in the wettest conditions.”

Agri-Services caters to a wide range of clients, including farmers, golf courses, private estates, and councils. With several demonstrations already planned, Chris is confident the Etesia range will resonate strongly with their predominantly commercial customer base.

“We’re excited to push the Etesia brand forward through our company and ensure its legacy continues with the next generation,” Chris added.

Since 1989, Etesia has been at the forefront of grass-cutting technology. Their lineup includes pedestrian and ride-on mowers, the popular Attila range of brushcutters, and the award-winning ET Lander—a fully electric utility vehicle. Renowned for exceptional performance in all weather conditions, Etesia machines are trusted by landscapers, local authorities, and private estate managers alike.

With the addition of Luxury Carts Group and Agri-Services to the Etesia dealer network, customers from the West of Scotland can expect unparalleled service, expert advice, and access to Etesia’s cutting-edge products.
