Irrigation finance made easy with Reesink

Irrigation finance made easy with Reesink: Helping make the numbers work when it comes to replacing an irrigation system is Reesink Hydro-Scapes with a finance solution offering 100 percent funding over 10 years.

Reesink’s financial partner, Novuna, works directly with customers to create a tailored and affordable asset finance solution to provide the security of knowing that the repayments will give the business the ability to budget and plan without disrupting cash flow.

Features include funding up to 100 percent of the project costs, transparency and support from a team who take the time to understand the business’ needs over a 10 year term, unique to Reesink and longer than the usual asset lending period.

Robert Jackson, division manager for Reesink Hydro-Scapes, says: “Responsible irrigation has never been more relevant, sustainability under pressure from ever-increasing temperatures and unpredictable seasons, or the pressure so noticeable to address old, inefficient systems. But it’s a big financial outlay and amid a cost-of-living crisis affecting businesses too, many may be thinking about how they can get the numbers to work to embark on one of the most expensive projects a club is likely to undertake.

“Buying irrigation on finance takes away two of the biggest headaches we find exist for those embarking on an irrigation installation: it means the full installation customers need is much sooner and there is a smaller upfront capital outlay.

“Anyone who has gone through the process will know that choosing and installing an irrigation system can be a lengthy one, phasing installations over years. Removing the headache that comes with financing the project means that you’re making the decision-making process a lot simpler and quicker and there is no need to phase in,” Robert says.

There are two ways for a business to purchase an irrigation system with Reesink on finance – it’s either leased or hired (hire purchase). Both are fixed costs and will not change during the life of the agreement, which makes accurate budgeting far easier.

Robert discusses the ease of the scheme: “Unlike an outright purchase, asset finance lets you pay for your irrigation system in monthly, quarterly or semi-annual payments, and with Reesink no minimum deposit is required – the first instalment is paid on signing. This helps customers spread the cost even further, while also demonstrating full confidence in a Toro installation and its backup support.”

As the first distributor in the UK to offer Reesink customers fixed term finance on its irrigation products, it has the most years of experience in this arena, making it the perfect partner to work with to keep businesses moving forward in 2023. Make a difficult job easy with myTurf Pro

Make a difficult job easy with myTurf Pro: With economic uncertainty as it is, it’s never been more important to consider more than just the equipment’s purchase price. Now, with Toro’s myTurf Pro, working out the cost component of a club’s assets has never been easier.

myTurf Pro is a powerful, easy-to-use software application that tracks and manages all a club’s assets, regardless of brand. With access to real-time data, it’s possible to improve staff efficiency, lengthen the life of equipment and reduce overall maintenance costs across the entire range of equipment and assets.

Total Cost of Ownership is a vital part of the decision-making process when looking to invest in a new equipment, but certainly never before has the concept had such weight, as Jon Cole, divisional business manager – turfcare at Reesink Turfcare, UK distributor of Toro equipment, explains: “The cost of living crisis impacts businesses as much as consumers so it’s never been more important to consider more than just the purchase price of a club’s equipment. The net purchase or financed value is important, but often no more than 35 percent as a cost component of the equipment’s operating life.

“It’s equally important to look for value with features that enhance performance, productivity, reliability, downtime, durability and longevity for residual value.”

With robust record keeping it’s possible to balance investment, component costs and residual value, but with Toro technology in the form of the web-based asset management system, myTurf Pro, there’s no limit to what can be tracked, from equipment, irrigation, vehicles, attachments, hand tools and more, across one or more locations – and it’s so quick.

A decade in the making, the level of informational detail myTurf Pro provides is unrivalled by any other asset management system. Order parts, schedule service activities, track inventory, monitor fleet health and labour expenses or generate reports that demonstrate operational access, 24/7.

Customisable tools deliver interactive alerts, automated and proactive notifications, labour management and expense tracking, and instant access to service documentation and operational reports.

Jon continues: “myTurf Pro was designed to make our customer’s difficult job easier. It puts the optimisation, efficiency and effectiveness of the operation at the course managers’ fingertips and allows customers to track the total cost of ownership, depreciation, maintenance and operating expenses for the real value of machinery for its expected lifetime.”

And all of that is backed up by Toro NSN technical and customer support, by phone, email or chat, and up-to-date reference materials. It is available through Reesink Turfcare with flexible finance deals with deferred start dates, subsidised rates or those that can be aligned to peak income months to help manage cashflow. It only takes a conversation. Make contact online at via reesinkturfcare.co.uk, by phone on 01480 226800 or by email at info@reesinkturfcare.co.uk.

Fixed fountain easy with Otterbine

Fixed fountain easy with Otterbine: Turning a floating fountain into a cost-effective fixed fountain is easy with Otterbine.

For those who have a floating fountain from Otterbine’s C3 range – including all of the decorative patterns and Fractional series – all you need to do is remove the float from the fountain and attach the three-legged stand from the fixed system to anchor the fountain to the bottom of the pond basin. And voila, you have a fixed fountain.

This in turn removes the back float from the floating fountain (or, if you were going for a bespoke fountain fixture, the piping and valves) from sight for an aesthetically pleasing result.

Simon Powell, business development manager at Otterbine, says: “This simple system provides a solution to the aesthetic problem of having some of the fountain’s parts visible, as can be the case with floating fountains. This is a cost-effective, off-the-shelf and simple to install solution in comparison to the alternative which is a bespoke build.”

Each stand comes assembled with adjustable legs that can be positioned at different heights to accommodate sloping bottoms of varying depths between 22 to 30 inches, while the rubber feet can be removed for earth bottoms.

Made from corrosion-resistant and durable marine-grade stainless steel, the pump chamber fits flush with the surface and comes with power control centre cable with quick disconnect for ease of installation. They are backed by a robust five-year warranty and can be fitted with Otterbine’s Fountain Glo™ RGBW light systems to enhance the fountain’s display and give rich vibrant light through a variety of coloured displays and sequences at night.

Remove loose debris

As the growing season begins, turf benefits from being exposed to sunlight as this will encourage strong and effective growth. A layer of debris over grass can cause stunted growth and due to the dark, damp environment debris creates, it is also at risk of encouraging various diseases. So, clearing away debris will not only help reduce damage to grass but it will also allow vital nutrients, air and water in so it can remain healthy and vibrant for summer.

Billy Goat offers a wide range of powerful and robust debris loaders and vaccums that effortlessly remove all types of debris from turf and the DL1302H Debris Loader offers the perfect combination of power and size. With 2,100 cfm of commercial suction and a discharge chute, high productivity leaf and debris removal across small and midsize jobs and crews is made effortless. Plus, with a dual shredding 14.5” diameter armor plate impeller with a Piranha™ blade that reduces debris up to 12.1 and allows you to load up across multiple properties before dispensing, time and effort is reduced.

For both lawn and hard surface areas, the MV601 multi-surface vacuum offers the perfect machine for larger clean-up projects, thanks to its Braggs & Stratton electric easy start engine, self-propelled and 3-speed vacuum. Plus, its powerful 6-blade serrated impeller encourages maximum suction, picking up leaves, grass clippings, litter and other debris quickly and efficiently, making mass clean-up easy.

The MV601 has also been manufactured using abrasion-resistant composite housing components, offering a lightweight model that won’t rust or dent so it can be used year after year.

Scarify to remove thatch

Whilst removing loose debris from on top of turf is vital in preparing it for the summer months, it’s also important to make sure that thatch, moss and any other unwanted growth is removed from turf to ensure strong, healthy growth.

Scarifying is an effective way of removing thatch from turf and can be done around March and April time, when grass starts to grow and can recover quickly. Billy Goat has a versatile range of scarifiers that takes the backache out of turf maintenance. Its CR550H Power Rake is just one example of its impressive products that efficiently removes matted thatch from small to medium sized lawns, thanks to its rugged design and powerful Honda engine. The model is also self-propelled and can be fitted with a spring tine reel, so even thatch in hard to reach places can be removed, leaving every inch of lawn looking like new.

Undertaking clean-up projects now will help to keep turf looking lush throughout the summer, and Billy Goat provides the tools to help clear turf of any size with ease.

Aerate lawns to life

The Billy Goat range of Plugr aerators enables grounds professionals, landscapers and contractors to be able to tackle large areas of lawn quickly and easily. Plugr aerators offer the perfect solution to promoting spring growth, improving drainage and encouraging new growth by making holes throughout the turf that breaks up compacted soil and allows air, water and nutrients to circulate through the roots. This results in healthier, stronger roots, grass and turf.

The PL1801H has an 18” working width so are ideal for smaller grounds. It also has four tines that place cores 2.75” deep and aerate 22,000 square feet per hour. They have an easy-folding handle that allows for compact use, transportation and storage, and its lightweight design allows for ease in manoeuvrability. For those seeking a more productive, cost-efficient way of aerating larger areas, the 25 Series is best. It offers the best combination of productivity, comfort and results, whilst boasting intuitive controls, and variable speed fingertip hydro-drive innovation.

The PL2501SPV is powered by a Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 203cc engine and is best suited for more intense usage and larger areas. The models have a 25” working width and eight reciprocating cam driven tines that punch to core depths of 2.75”, delivering aeration to up to 42,500 square feet per hour.
