“We are pleased to be able to attend BTME for another year, where our team will proudly be on hand to answer any questions on what we do. An exciting start to the show will be the opening breakfast keynote, recounting the agronomic and greenkeeping stories of The 151st Open and 2023 AIG Women’s Open – of which both trophies will be present!” comments Alistair Beggs, Head of Agronomy

“We hope many industry professionals will be able to join us, getting the chance to see the trophies up close, whilst chatting all things sustainable agronomy.”

During the event, the team will be located at stand 408 and will offer a host of opportunities to find out more on the R&A Sustainable Agronomy Service available to all. Furthermore, they will also welcome partner industry experts in sustainable water management for golf courses, as well as golf & nature, to their stand; giving attendees the chance to find out more information.

Dr. Tom Young, Associate at The Environmental Partnership, will be on the stand Tuesday 23rd between 2pm and 4pm to discuss sustainable water management, and how the collaboration between the two powerhouses in their respective industries are working together. Marie Athorn, from the RSBP, will also join Sophie Olejnik from OleoEcology to discuss golf & nature, including how the RSPB-R&A partnership is in place to provide guidance for golf courses to support the environment.

The stand itself will be one to revel in, with attendees also getting the chance to view unique greenkeeping heritage, exclusive to The R&A World Golf Museum. During the show, a number of impressive items will be displayed, each telling a story of how critical keepers of the green were to the game. The breadth of items on display will demonstrate how far golf course management has evolved, and The R&A has a unparalleled history to showcase this.

STIHL to exhibit at GroundsFest

STIHL to exhibit at GroundsFest: STIHL will be showcasing its full AP System range of professional battery tools at the first GroundsFest 2023 exhibition, highlighting how cordless tools can meet the varying needs of landscapers and groundscare teams.

Visitors to the STIHL stand will be able to see the new PS 3000, STIHL’s first portable 230V power supply, providing users with a quiet, low maintenance and emission-free alternative to petrol-powered generators. Weighing only 19.8kg and boasting a 3.6kW power output, the new PS 3000 offers a high power-to-weight ratio and is one of the most powerful portable power supply units in its weight class.

Other new tools available for professional users to get their hands on at the exhibition will be the BGA 300 backpack blower, HSA 100 cordless hedge trimmer, and the updated MSA 220 C-B chainsaw.

The BGA 300, STIHL’s first cordless backpack blower for professional users, offers high performance and a significantly less disruptive sound thanks to its innovative STIHL Noise Reduction System (NRS). Thanks to the STIHL NRS, the BGA 300 produces fewer high pitch frequencies often associated with cordless blowers, meaning operation is much more pleasant and less intrusive for bystanders.

In addition, The HSA 100 boasts a 60cm double-sided, double-edged cutting blade, which offers improved cutting performance due to the large cutter spacing of the blades, whereas the updated MSA 220 C-B is a robust and powerful cordless chainsaw, ideal for felling small trees, pruning and cutting to length.

STIHL will also be showcasing a range of petrol-powered tools on its demo plot, allowing professional users to see a direct comparison between battery and petrol performance.

Final spots to exhibit at SAGE

Final spots to exhibit at SAGE: Spaces to exhibit at SAGE, the UK’s biggest outdoor trade show in the sports and grounds maintenance industry, are being booked up fast, with excitement building for this summer’s show. In partnership with Weibang, GRASS, and BioCircle, SAGE is returning for what is set to be a landmark event in the grounds care calendar.

Back for its third year at the stunning Three Counties showground in Malvern, Worcestershire, SAGE will take place on the 19th and 20th of July 2023. With plans for increased numbers of exhibitors, conferences, and stalls, this year’s event is set to draw in more visitors than ever before and be SAGE’s biggest exhibition yet.

Exhibiting at SAGE is unlike any other grounds care event. SAGE understands what exhibitors and visitors want from events: interactive, hands-on experiences.

While many other exhibitions have been moved indoors, SAGE believes that demonstrating kit is an integral part of grounds care and maintenance exhibitions. This is why it provides the unique opportunity to demo and test equipment, no matter the size. To achieve this, SAGE offers unrivalled value for money, providing each exhibitor with their own demo space alongside their stand from as little as £14 per m2.

As well as unmatched outdoor demo spaces and unbeatable prices, SAGE is also leading the way in sustainability. This year, sustainability is its key message, with organisers recognising the need to create an exhibition that leaves as little impact on the environment as possible.

Implementing ‘We are green’ practices, in line with the sustainable guidelines set out by Eventex, SAGE hopes to use its platform to inspire a greener approach in the event industry, bringing together like-minded, revolutionary thinkers, and setting a more sustainable precedent for future exhibitions.

New sustainable measures include free water refill stations, sustainable lanyards, beer barrels instead of bottles, hired glasses to cut out single-use plastic, eco-friendly cleaning products, as well as much more. GRASS, one of SAGE’s official green partners, will also be on hand to advise on tailor-made best sustainable practices for businesses.

Running alongside SAGE will be the brand-new Green Business Expo, where businesses will have the chance to share sustainable solutions, attend expert-led conferences, and network with other eco-conscious companies. With both exhibitions on the same site and free for visitors to attend, SAGE is expected to attract an engaged, diverse audience looking for sustainable grounds care options.

Mark Tomlinson, chairman of GRASS, shared why he has partnered with SAGE: “As an exhibitor, I value an outdoor show and the space SAGE offers to bring live working demonstrations to the industry.

“This is exactly what the industry has asked for.”

Join the growing list of exhibitors who are eager to be a part of this year’s event.

For more information, or to book exhibition space, please visit sportsandgrounds.events or contact Vicky Panniers vp@sportsandgrounds.co.uk.

STIHL to exhibit at APF

STIHL to exhibit at APF: STIHL will be showcasing an array of new forestry products at this year’s APF Exhibition, the UK’s largest dedicated forestry and arboriculture event, offering professional users more options than ever before to tackle the toughest jobs.

Taking centre stage will be STIHL’s new MSA 220 T and MSA 220 TC-O, the manufacturers most powerful and durable cordless top handled chainsaws to date, designed for tree care professionals to remove larger branches or perform crown maintenance with ease. When used with the recommended AP 300 S battery, both new chainsaws deliver 2.1 kW of electrical power, providing up to 29 minutes of working time and plenty of power for cutting larger sized branches when doing crown reductions or tree removal tasks.

Visitors to the stand will also be able to see up close the new MSA 300, the most powerful cordless chainsaw in STIHL’s AP System. Recommended with a 16” Light 04 guide bar and .325” RS Pro chain for fast cutting, the chainsaw is suitable for felling, cross-cutting, snedding and processing, offering forestry professionals and arborists plenty of power for taking on larger felling and processing tasks.

Other new products launched this year that will be showcased include the Rapid HEXA cutting system for the MS 362 C-M through to the MS 661 C-M.  It consists of a patented hexagonal file and a full chisel chain with a unique V shaped side plate, resulting in a chain that cuts up to 10% faster than standard RS chain, is easier to sharpen, and stays sharper for longer. In addition, STIHL’s new ADVANCE ProCOM headset will also be on stand, which utilises Bluetooth mesh technology to link up to 16 headsets automatically, allowing users to listen and communicate effectively as a team, as well as a high attenuation value of 31 for extremely high noise protection.

STIHL’s extensive professional battery range will also be on display, including the new AP 500 S, the most powerful AP battery in the STIHL range and the first to feature laminate technology helping to double the service life up to 2,400 charge cycles, as well as the new AL 301-4 multi-charger that can charge up to four AP and AP batteries at one time.

Campey set to exhibit at STMA

Campey set to exhibit at STMA: Campey Turf Care Systems is set to exhibit at the 33rd annual STMA conference and exhibition between the 17th and 20th January 2022.

This year’s event is taking place at the Savanah Convention Centre, Georgia. It will feature Campey’s latest synthetic, hybrid and natural turf grooming products, and a new addition to the US from Campey, the Martin Lishman Micro-Spray.

Campey set to exhibit at STMA

Campey set to exhibit at STMA

The key aim of the Micro-Spray is bringing versatility to the groundsman’s armoury. A narrow footprint allows it to fit through most gateways and passageways to tackle hard to reach spraying areas.

With a 120-litre tank, the option of a 2.5m six nozzle or 3.5m eight nozzle three-section folding boom and the perfect combination of power, control and responsive handling, the Micro-Spray is suited to all types of sports grounds, golf courses and landscaping work. The comprehensive yet easy to use control box gives the operator more control over the sprayer with changeable motor direction to either walk behind or in front of the sprayer, 12 motor speeds, bout marker selection, a battery level indicator and optional hand lance.

Spray application rates, operating speed, and the pump pressure can be accurately and quickly controlled by the operator, as well as the adjustable boom height and independent shut-off nozzle bodies. All of these features come together to make a versatile sprayer that provides the same exceptional results time and time again regardless of where you’re working.

Other leading products on the Campey stand will be the Campey®  Uni-Scratch, UNIRAKE©, the Campey® SPEEDRESSER© and the Campey® LM3010 liquid transfer line marker.

The Uni-Scratch is ideal for the professional and effective maintenance of natural and synthetic grass surfaces. The machine has been developed to infill or refill when installing or looking after synthetic grass carpets. It can also be used to remove organic matter on natural grass hybrid carpet pitches when carrying out annual renovations. The Uni-Scratch moves on four supporting rollers, which are adjustable in height to allow the most appropriate working depth. The rotors can be equipped with springs or linear brushes in PPL, with rear linkage to tractors of at least 30hp.

The UNIRAKE© serves a similar purpose by removing organic matter. Still, users can adjust the severity of grooming to remove a varying amount of organic matter or simply stand the sward up to encourage growth. Altering the severity of grooming is quick and easy and can be done in no less than 30-seconds.

Line marking is made simple with the Campey® LM3010 liquid transfer marker. What sets this line marker apart from the rest is that it only marks the leaf/plant and not the soil. This means that when greening out the lines for re-marking, it is easy to remove existing colours and re-line with greater precision and less time.

It is a simple, durable and easy to operate liquid transfer line marker. Marking material is transferred from the 30ltr hopper to the 10cm wide marking wheel by a grooved rubber roller which allows marking up to post or flag. It has pneumatic tyres and an adjustable flow rate giving even and accurate lines. The tubular steel handles can also be adjusted for operator comfort.

Many professional sporting clubs in the UK and Europe have the line marker, such as the Salford Reds. In the United States, sports facilities, including the Philadelphia Union Soccer PPL Park stadium and the New York Mets, a professional baseball team at its Citi Field stadium in Queens, use it regularly.

Completing the Campey line-up at STMA 2022 is the Campey®  SPEEDRESSER©. The machine is available with 18m or 24m spreading widths and are designed to handle all topdressing material. The unique aspect of the SPEEDRESSER© is the four floatation tyres on a pivoting axle that massively minimise the risk of turf damage and compaction. This feature is especially important when working on a pre-existing surface but is equally important during renovations. The high work rate of the machine enables the spreading of dressings up to a depth of 2mm-75mm in one pass.

As always, the weeklong STMA event will provide a number of invaluable seminars, training opportunities and networking events. Throughout the week, Campey product specialists will be available to give advice on machinery and answer any turf related questions.
