The new Honda business is focussed on serving customers in Warrington, St Helens and Wigan and has just invested over £50,000 in a new customer experience as part of the appointment, and has redeveloped it’s showroom and storage facilities at it’s premises located on the Haydock Industrial estate on Winchester Road.

Already providing an exceptional level of service, the business will now be able to enhance this offering with latest additions to the range which are ideal for discerning gardeners.

As a result of this announcement, GGM will be recruiting for several new roles including sales, service and admin, offering additional local employment opportunities.

GGM is a specialist supplier of tractors and high-quality professional land-based equipment for commercial and domestic use across the North-West, Cheshire and Merseyside, with depots in Haydock and Colne. With a proven record of delivering a trusted service and exceptional after sales support, driven by a set of deep-rooted values, GGM takes pride in building long lasting customer relationships, based on anticipating needs, solving problems and delivering on time, every time.

The development of the new Honda franchise and newly improved Haydock showroom offering is overseen by Thomas Gibson who has been involved with the projects from the start and has been instrumental in GGM securing the Honda opportunity.

Thomas said:

“This is an extremely exciting time for the business to coincide with our five years at Haydock. As a customer and staff centric organisation, it gives us the means to offer new opportunities to local people in the form of both job opportunities and service levels. We’re looking forward to developing the Honda brand and welcoming customers into our showroom.”

Honda has an established reputation for its commitment to producing high-quality and durable equipment that are built to last. Honda lawnmowers are particularly popular and are known for their highly-efficient cutting and easy-to-use design. They have a variety of options, including self-propelled, push, and robotic mowers, as well as different engines, cutting widths and other features.

Honda ride-on mowers are also highly rated for their dependability, performance, and ease of use. There is a comprehensive range to choose from including compact models to heavy-duty models that can handle large lawns and gardens.

Overall, the Honda garden machinery range is known for its quality, durability and reliability, making them a popular choice among professional landscapers and homeowners alike.

Stuart Edgar, Honda Dealer Manager said:

“We are delighted to establish this franchise with GGM Groundscare. As a forward-thinking organisation, we are confident that they are a great choice to represent our lawn and garden product range, drawing on their expertise and knowledge of garden machinery and their excellent customer service reputation with customers. We’re impressed with their facilities and urge customers to visit their Haydock showroom and see the machines for themselves”.

The new Honda business comes hot on the heels of GGM’s expansion in to the agricultural sector, following the recent announcement that it is to widen its Kubota portfolio with higher horsepower M-series tractors and R0 loaders, to sit alongside its existing groundcare business.

Chris Gibson, Managing Director of GGM Groundscare said:

“This an extremely exciting time for the GGM Group. We already have a strong and competent team that is capable of delivering first class customer service and support, with professional groundcare machinery and the Honda business will only add to this”.

DLF expands production

DLF expands production: The UK’s largest grass seed supplier, DLF, have announced the completion of a £3.5m investment programme to increase production efficiency and meet market demand across the domestic, landscape and sports turf sectors.

The introduction of new mixing plant technology known as ‘Titan’ to the breeding centre in Inkberrow, Worcestershire, promises to both continue and improve seed quality, increase capacity and play a huge part in supporting the growth of DLF’s UK operations.

Parent company to many leading sports seed brands including Johnsons Sports Seed, MM and Masterline, alongside leading wild flower ranges Pro Flora and Colour Boost, DLF has undertaken major redevelopment over the last few years to benefit customers and company alike as they continue to set the quality standard for professional grass seed. ‘Titan’ – derived from Greek mythology and symbolising great strength, intellect or importance – is a new mixing plant technology which will more than double the production capability and provide higher in-season capacity and efficiency.

Titan is equipped with 48 seed bins of seven cubic metres, which can hold up to 3 tonnes of seed depending on the species. The pneumatic closed system can input 12 tonnes per hour, and output 6 tonnes per hour from bins to mixers, significantly improving line efficiency through automation. The rotary valves, diverter valves and connecting pipes of ‘Titan’ are all self-cleaning which means that, alongside DLF’s ‘star cleaner’, seed purity is optimised and contamination during the mixing process is eliminated.

The bespoke control software is also fully integrated with DLF’s operating system, bringing new enhancements to ordering and availability and ensuring optimal supply during peak seasons.

Commenting on the investment, DLF Director of Operations UK Martin Swinnerton said, “Titan promises to be a fantastic asset for DLF and in turn our leading sports turf ranges. We have experienced unprecedented demand for product across our portfolio in recent years and with this technology we can output more products to keep up with demand levels and thereby help us to satisfy both new and existing customers by guaranteeing not only a fast but reliable supply chain.”

Cobra expands cordless offering

Cobra expands cordless offering: Following extensive customer demand, Cobra has introduced a new model to its ever-popular 24-volt range of battery-powered equipment.

The cordless range, which currently consists of a GT3024V  Grass Trimmer, LB45024V Leaf Blower, CS1024V Chainsaw, and H5024V  Hedgetrimmer with a range of 50cm, has been expanded with the introduction of the new HT50LRH24V Long Reach Hedgetrimmer (RRP £134.99).

Cobra expands cordless offering

Cobra’s current cordless hand tool ranges are powered by both 24-volt or 40-volt models, with the 24v collection proving to be incredibly popular with gardeners. Compact, reasonably priced yet powerful, the range is ideal for gardeners with typical sized gardens and those looking for a tool that’s simple and easy to use.

The brand’s new Long Reach Hedgetrimmer is designed to tackle the most awkward jobs, with the versatility to change from a standard 50cm cutting length to the longreach option. The extension pole simply clicks into the main body of the tool before attaching the standard hedgetrimmer blade, granting an additional metre to help reach taller hedges. To further aid this, it also has an articulating head that moves through 90 degrees, with a dual handle switch, and is light and easy to use weighing just 3.34kg.

It has a double-sided reciprocating precision cutting blade with a tooth spacing of 20mm, along two-speed modes (eco and turbo), making hedge shaping and tidying even easier. Not only that, but all the tools in the 24v range operate off the same interchangeable battery, meaning buyers no longer need to worry about finding a plug socket or tripping over wires, all while powering one tool from one battery.

Peter Chaloner, managing director of Cobra, said: “We are continuously looking for ways to expand the 24v range, creating more commercial opportunities for dealers and providing gardeners with useful, compact tools that stand the test of time. Our standard 50cm hedgetrimmer has proven to be very popular with buyers, but we noticed that many gardeners required a model with a longer reach – so we knew we wanted to create a product to fill that gap in the market. The demand for cordless tools continues to grow, as people seek convenient, hassle-free options.”

Cobra is the leading name in garden machinery and has the UK’s largest range of powered lawnmowers. For further information about Cobra, please visit www.cobragarden.co.uk.

To add the new Long Reach Hedgetrimmer to your existing Cobra stock, contact your Cobra sales representative, or to become a Cobra stockist please contact Andy Marvin on 07771 581296 or am@hentonandchattell.co.uk.
