Toro B Series for invisible in-field irrigation

Toro B Series for invisible in-field irrigation: As the football season finishes and pitch renovations begin, Reesink Hydro-Scapes is reminding customers that Toro’s B series sprinkler system with Turf Cup is the best in the league when it comes to invisible in-field irrigation.

The combination of Toro’s B series and Turf Cup is irrigation uniformity, player safety, best pitch playability and the ultimate in field aesthetics. Here Robert Jackson, division manager from Reesink Hydro-Scapes, explains why.

“Elevating turf quality with the right irrigation shouldn’t interfere with the usability of the pitch, it should go virtually unnoticed by groundsmen, spectators and most importantly the players,” he says. “Toro’s B Series with the addition of the Turf Cup is the perfect pairing.”

So why is that? With Toro B series sprinklers, the volume can be easily altered to meet the exact requirements of the pitch with a large nozzle selection for accurate watering. This level of control and head-to-head coverage comes from the full-circle configuration designed to deliver regardless of the weather and without the need for disassembly or additional parts.

Robert continues: “Toro sprinklers are widely regarded to be some of the best in the business for providing accurate water application. Add the Turf Cup you get an invisible solution for irrigating pitches.”

Built to withstand the tough environment of the typical UK sports field, the Turf Cup, designed and available exclusively from Reesink Hydro-Scapes, has been tested to ensure the highest levels of reliability and durability demanded by the market today.

The flexible rubber compound of the Turf Cup means grass grows in the cup on top of the sprinkler to create a continuous area of uninterrupted turf.

To guarantee the slickest passing and streamlined movement of the ball on an accurately watered pitch in the season ahead, Toro irrigation is the smart choice when it comes to renovation time.

“Barenbrug’s acquisition of the group reflects the long-standing strength of the relationship that exists between these companies,” says Paul Johnson, Managing Director of Barenbrug UK.

“Barenbrug has long been one of Watson’s main seed suppliers, and these businesses are very closely aligned in ethos and values: family-owned, with the emphasis on integrity, quality and service, and focusing on the customer’s needs, whether that’s for agricultural, sport or amenity applications.”

Mr Johnson says the acquisition of Watson Seeds, Seed Logistics and GroGreen is a significant step for Barenbrug’s UK operation. “By giving us a much stronger offering in Scotland, we will complement our existing geographies and strengthen our position across the United Kingdom.

“In the amenity sector, this will open up opportunities for growing our market share in a new geographical area while maintaining Barenbrug’s position as a global grass breeder and producer.

“Growth for Barenbrug always translates into success for our distributors.”

Johnny Watson, founder of Watson Seeds, expressed his delight at the sale of the business to Barenbrug.

“This is a meeting of two likeminded companies known for their commitment to excellence in grass,” he says.

“I’ve known Barenbrug all my life, and I knew the fit between these companies would be perfect.”

“I’m excited that the acquisition will see business as usual. Our ambitious plan for continued growth and development will benefit from access to the resources and support of the global Barenbrug group.

“I’m delighted that we have a new, exciting chapter in our company, for the benefit of our customers and to meet the challenges and opportunities of our customers in the future,” he adds.

“With a long family history in the grass industry, I have nothing but heartfelt enthusiasm in seeing this acquisition by a company who truly understands our business.”

Barenbrug UK, Watson Seeds, Seed Logistics and GroGreen will continue to function separately, maintaining their individual identities

Intensive Robot Training for STIGA dealerships

Intensive Robot Training for STIGA dealerships: STIGA dealers have been treated to extensive training and offered integral insights on the STIGA autonomous robot mowers.

The 210 staff from 130 UK dealerships were given a detailed introduction to the installation and working principle of the new autonomous robot range. The 21 dates throughout January February and March, reached full capacity due to the anticipation and excitement felt about these new machines from our mowing dealer colleagues. The training consisted of introductory presentations and practical outdoor training sessions providing our partners with all the information to become expert robot dealers.

The venues chosen were across the country and included Coventry, Edinburgh, Plymouth and Chepstow, and once each was session was completed, dealers obtained a certificate after taking a test.

In preparation for the STIGA robot launch this month, dealers were trained in all aspects of these innovative machines, including in the points below:

Cable-free

STIGA autonomous robot lawn mowers navigate without needing a wire. The installation is fully virtual and done via the STIGA.GO App. The new robot mowers work collecting information from satellites signals, both GPS and all other GNSS systems, to know their positions and navigate around the garden.

Intelligent mowing plan

STIGA AGS technology allows this robot to plan mowing sessions according to satellite signal availability, to mow with precision and accuracy. Knowing the satellites’ positioning in advance, the autonomous robot mower plans ahead each mowing session in each area. All zones in the lawn are mown regularly and accurately, leaving no zone uncut and avoiding over-mowing by passing several times in the same area. The result is an even, beautiful lawn.

Better battery technology

Well-positioned to grant a perfect balance, the ePower integrated battery capacity allows the autonomous robot to care for the lawn in as little as 2 mowing cycles a day. Even after 4 years of use the battery still operates at over 80% of its capacity.
