World Cup Benefits from GrassMax

World Cup Benefits from GrassMax: 19 World Cup games and 38 training sessions in Qatar are being played on GrassMax hybrid grass NextGen technology.

GrassMax hybrid grass NextGen technology features in over 750 installations throughout the world and has played a part in stadiums that have hosted the Olympic Games, the Rugby World Cup, and the football World Cup.

The pitches benefitting from the innovative technology in Qatar include Al Bayt Stadium, the host venue of the opening ceremony, and the iconic Lusail Stadium, which will host the World Cup final.

19 games and 38 training sessions in 4 weeks at the Qatar World Cup is significantly above average usage, hence the need for reinforcement. The GrassMax NextGen hybrid technology controls surface and subbase damage, and by doing so reduces the risk of injuries.

Furthermore, the climate conditions in Qatar and high-intensive usage of the pitches demand a specialist approach. In close collaboration with the pitch consultants and construction companies, GrassMax Systems managed to deliver state of the art surfaces for the venues.

Two laser guided machines have stitched each pitch – injecting around 20 million hybrid PP fibres, 18cm into the subbase in a 2 x 2 cm pattern.

By reinforcing the surface and subbase, the hybrid PP fibres anchor the natural rootzone to avoid damage that can be caused by fierce tackles and players sliding across the surface.

The Qatar World Cup Organising Committee sought the expertise of GrassMax Systems due to the extensive experience and know-how of Marc Vercammen, General Manager, and Yves De Cocker, Sales Director for GrassMax.

The Qatar Organising Committee has also employed GrassMax Systems to be on hand across all eight stadiums in case of an emergency.

GrassMax Systems is the stitched hybrid world leader with a 45+ market share.

Combi-Tool available from GKB Machines

Combi-Tool available from GKB Machines: Combining versatility and value-for-money, GKB Machines have launched their new Combi-Tool.

With a GKB engineered 3-point linkage frame and an ability to equip a range of maintenance attachments, the Combi-Tool gives turf managers the option of conducting multiple operations such as slitting, raking, rolling and brushing in one quick and simple pass.

On show for the first time at SALTEX 2022, the Combi-Tool features four attachment slots which can be tailored to the venue or the task to be conducted on a given day. Brush heads, rake tines, slitting tines, slitting discs and a range of rollers are available – with the option of equipping the Combi-Tool with multiple rows of the same attachment for a more intensive operation if required. Because of its multi-purpose functionality, the Combi-Tool is ideal for multi-sport venues such as winter sport facilities, schools, local authorities and contractors.

The Combi-Tool comes in 1.6m and 2.0m working widths and, as with all GKB Machines, is precision engineered for strength and durability. Swapping between attachments is fast, with the ability to independently adjust each implement once fitted to suit desired working depths.

Commenting on its introduction, UK Operations Manager Tom Shinkins said, “This is a brilliant addition to the GKB portfolio and has been introduced in direct response to demand from our dealer network. Its versatility is its biggest selling point so we’re expecting to see a lot of interest from those managing pitches at grassroots level who don’t always have the budgets or resources available to invest in multiple machines to conduct some of the basic maintenance operations that can have a massive impact on the presentation, playability and health of their surface.”

Sustainable seed solutions from DLF

Sustainable seed solutions from DLF: DLF are putting sustainable and environmental solutions under the spotlight as they return to SALTEX this November on stand J052.

With predictions that drought conditions like those experienced this summer will become a more frequent occurrence, species such as tetraploid perennial ryegrass and clover will likely become key weapons in every turf managers armoury to maintain sward health and density during prolonged periods of hot and dry weather.

In attempts to repair and recover surfaces during the cooler season, the increased energy reserves of DLF’s 4turf®  tetraploid perennial ryegrass demonstrates exceptional germination at temperatures as low as 4oc. The strong, fast establishment and healthy plant development is backed up with a larger root system meaning 4turf® surfaces are more tolerant to drought and a range of other environmental stresses.

In European trials, 4turf® demonstrated exceptional resistance to disease – including Brown Patch -during the autumn and winter months as well as increased resistance to weed invasion due to its rapid establishment, reducing the need for costly fungicide and herbicide applications. The sustainable credentials of 4turf®, together with its wear-tolerant properties, has seen its inclusion in a number of Johnsons Sports Seed mixtures popular with football clubs including J4Turf and, the new mixture for 2022, J Premier 4Turf.

For spring renovations – and of particular interest for local authorities, sports grounds and gardens – could be self-sustaining clover. The unique root nodules on clover are capable of converting atmospheric nitrogen into a gradual supply of natural fertiliser, resulting in sustained growth. Microclover, a smaller-leaved dwarf white clover, is incorporated into Masterline’s PM82 Microclover Sport mixture, blended to improve turf quality whilst being kinder to the environment thanks to its reduced requirements for herbicide, fungicide and fertiliser.

The DLF technical team will be on hand to discuss formulations from across the Johnsons Sports Seed, MM Seed and Masterline ranges, in addition to the Pro Flora wild flower and Colour Boost amenity flower collections. More than 25 wild flower mixtures are available, suited to a range of renovation and landscaping projects, each guaranteed to bring biodiversity and enhanced visual impact to amenity and agricultural spaces.

Electrifying Line-Up from Dennis and SISIS

Electrifying Line-Up from Dennis and SISIS: Continuing their long history of exhibiting at SALTEX, Dennis and SISIS will be showcasing a wide-range of pedestrian battery-powered products on stand E070, located in the centre of the show.

2022 has been an exciting year for the innovative British manufacturers – not only does it see Dennis celebrating its 100-year anniversary and SISIS their 90th anniversary, but both companies are experiencing a record-breaking year for orders. This has all been possible due to their commitment to continual investment – investment in facilities, marketing, exhibitions, staff, export and of course products – which is where the battery-powered products come in.

Electrifying Line-Up from Dennis and SISIS

Since making its debut at SALTEX last year, the Dennis E-Series has taken the industry by storm standing out from the competition in terms of power, battery-range and performance.

Reliable and long lasting, the exciting Dennis E-Series is a range of battery powered mowers that are no compromise alternatives to its popular range of petrol machines. Ultra-low noise, low vibration, user friendly and super low CO2 footprint, the new range of mowers are helping users towards the carbon neutral goal.

SALTEX visitors can expect to see the following products on the Dennis and SISIS stand.

ES-860

Users of the Dennis G860 cylinder mower will no doubt see familiarities in the new ES-860.

This 34” battery powered turf management system delivers maximum versatility and the range of 13 interchangeable cassette options provide a solution to many day-to-day maintenance tasks. The power of the battery system ensures the machine is capable of cutting at least 2 3-4 pitches on a single charge or verticutting a full pitch without anxiety. Furthermore, current G860 cassettes will also fit the ES-860.

ES-34R

The ES-34R rotary mower has twin contra rotating blades with the height of cut controlled by an easy to use ‘click’ system. Suction and blade speed can be adapted to meet the most challenging collection conditions. The mower is also available with optional front wheels, smooth or wiele roller, and has excellent sight lines.

ES-36

Based on the Dennis Premier, the ES-36 provides a perfect finish every time and capable of cutting 2-3 pitches on a single charge. The powerful battery system allows the addition of a trailer seat to be attached and still achieve a minimum of 20km of cutting. A uniquely developed micro adjuster makes it very easy to set the bottom blade to cylinder.

ES-510

This new mower is based on the Dennis FT510 – which is, historically, the company’s most popular machine. With a choice of 12 interchangeable cassettes, the ES-510 is capable of scarifying down to -10mm. Ideal for fine turf it has the power to cut 4-5 bowling greens or approximately 10km on a single charge.

ES-22 Ultra

Users of the Dennis Razor Ultra will be familiar with this machine, which features an ultra-short wheelbase for undulating surfaces. Using a 7 or 11 bladed cutting cylinder and groomer reel, this 560mm (22”) battery mower produces a quality of cut which provides an ultra-fine finish on bowling greens, golf greens and tees, and cricket pitches.

ES Verticut TT

Designed with ease-of-operator-control in mind and providing the ultimate verti-cutting, regular use of the Verticut TT will help reduce thatch, improve the sward, and encourage finer grasses to flourish.

ES-26

Easy to use, superb balance, control, and easy pull back for accurate alignment of next run are just some of the features of the ES-26. With a 26” cutting width, this mower is available with a standard front roller for maintaining fine turf sports surfaces such as golf greens and tees.

The E-Series features a robust LCD keypad screen which provides the operator with a multitude of information options including speed, clip rate, service checks, lifetime running reports and battery information. The mowers take just 2-3 hours for an ultra-fast full battery recharge.

The two companies look forward to welcoming you to the stand at SALTEX 2022.

New from Toro at SALTEX

New from Toro at SALTEX: Reesink UK will be represented at SALTEX 2022 with innovations and technologies, new launches and best sellers from all four of its divisions (Reesink Turfcare, Reesink e-Vehicles, Reesink Agriculture and Reesink Hydro-Scapes) for the first time.

New from Toro at SALTEX

New from Toro at SALTEX

Building on the incredible legacy of the ProCore 648, the 648s brings more innovative features to the time-tested machine that changed the way you aerate. The s stands for superior – and superior it is.

An updated version of a customer-favourite model, there are more than 10 new patents and some brand-new enhancements based off operator feedback and Toro’s own in-depth studies. Revised controls improve ergonomics and allow single handed operation, and hole spacing and true tine depth are now set and saved in the InfoCentre.

Reesink will also unveil the latest powerhouse from Toro to tackle all terrains thrown at it: the new Toro Workman UTX 4×4. The fourth utility vehicle in the series, it tackles all terrains and environments including ice and snow. This robust four-wheel drive, full-sized utility vehicle has 25 percent more cargo capacity than others in its class and blasts through its tasks.

Finishing the line up from Reesink Turfcare is Toro’s Groundsmaster 3300 mower, back with its innovative flail attachment, and one of two tractors – the TYM T395 is coupled with an AgriMetal blower attachment at the show.

The industry’s first all-electric compact tractor from Reesink Agriculture is the second on stand. Since Farmtrac’s FT25G launched, it’s won awards, been on multiple TV programmes and impressed the industry’s electric vehicles and technology enthusiasts, as well as winning the SALTEX Innovation Award in the Environmental and Sustainability category. So, if you’ve missed seeing it in person up until now, now’s your chance.

With the theme of the show sustainability, Reesink e-Vehicles is ably represented by the electric Capella Work Machine with cargo box from STAR EV and KAASPEED’s unique electric scooter. Both make transporting cargo and people around the site fun, clean and green.

Also on stand, and the next big thing for sustainable cleaning of machinery, is Bio-Circle GT Maxi, the parts cleaner that requires no water and eliminates pollutant run-off into the water system. This VOC-free, pH neutral cleaning option is gentle on the environment but powerful enough to remove grease, oil, grass contamination, whiteline paint and fertiliser.

From Reesink Hydro-Scapes, there’s a selection of irrigation and water aeration solutions, encapsulating the long established and industry-leading Toro irrigation systems, controllers, sprinklers and soil sensors, Otterbine pond and lake aerators; SRC wall-mounted controllers and quick-replace Franklin pump systems.

Alastair Rowell, managing director at Reesink UK, says: “It’s always an exciting show when we have new Toro products to launch, but equally exciting this year is that visitors will be able to see the innovations and world-leading technology all our Reesink divisions have to offer.”

So, whether you’re heading to the exhibition for the latest machinery or equipment for groundscare or fine turf, sustainable technology solutions or advice, Reesink has it all on one stand K080.
