EcoBunker to Introduce LOKSAND at BTME

EcoBunker to Introduce LOKSAND at BTME: EcoBunker has agreed a partnership with LOKSAND Global that gives the erosion control specialists and leaders in synthetic bunker edge technology exclusive rights to the distribution of LOKSAND in the U.K. Details on the partnership and new products will be available to view at BTME in Harrogate from 20th January.

LOKSAND is a soil amendment featuring interlocking, crimped fibres that bind and stabilise soil and sand profiles. Deployment of the LOKSAND soil amendment allows greenkeepers, contractors and architects to tackle the problem of poor turf quality in heavily trafficked areas, including strengthening cart-path entry and exit points, walkways and green exits — without resorting to repair or hardscape options.

“We can honestly build nearly anything with LOKSAND,” said Danny Potter, owner of global distributor Centaur Holdings. “We’re still establishing the limits of what it can do. We’ve used it to stabilize the steep noses that dive into bunkers, rolled-over edges, slopes where golfers enter and exit bunkers or green complexes, and obviously, grass walkways. It binds and keeps everything in place without compromising percolation in any way. What’s more, LOKSAND can be mixed using whatever soils and sands you have on site, so there’s no need for any expensive import of particular sand mixes. If you have a project where the soil needs stability, strength, durability and drainage, then LOKSAND is the perfect solution.”

The first LOKSAND installation in the U.K., is set to begin at Woodhall Spa this week. It is being used in conjunction with EcoBunker hidden edges and EcoTec bunker liners, showing off the perfect combination of technology now available through EcoBunker. This follows the success of the recent Hann Reserve installation in the Philippines that saw LOKSAND used to re-inforce deep bunker shaping underpinned by EcoBunker edges at the interface with the sand.

“LOKSAND is a brilliant innovation. It allows greenkeepers, architects and contractors to lock in design features in areas that are traditionally vulnerable to wear,” said Richard Allen, CEO of EcoBunker and inventor of synthetic bunker technology.” Add in the superb drainage attributes, the consistency of surface that can be achieved and the lifespan of the product, you can see why we jumped at the opportunity. Our first installation is going in at Woodhall Spa alongside two of our core technologies and we can’t wait to show off how the joint innovation bring long lasting benefits to the course.”

Danny Potter will be present on the EcoBunker stand – 246, Hall 2 – at BTME from 20th January, where he and Richard Allen will introduce the benefits of LOKSAND technology to the European turfcare industry. Alongside LOKSAND, EcoBunker will present their brand new pre-cut tile technology, offering visitors the opportunity to see for themselves how pre-cut can halve the time of synthetic bunker builds.

Suståne to introduce new Zero-Phos range

Suståne to introduce new Zero-Phos range: With thoughts turning to the new season, turf professionals looking for solutions that deliver early strength, reliable performance and long-term soil health can find all of the answers on the Suståne stand at BTME 2026.

Featuring 75% water soluble nitrogen, Suståne’s 10-1-4 is an ideal spring starter, delivering a quicker N response in cooler weather and the necessary organic base to get spring growth off to the best start.

Suståne 10-1-4 is a fine grade fertiliser for greens, tees and tight cut fairways, rich in quick release water soluble nitrogen (WSN) making it ideal for a quick green up when soil temperatures are below optimum. While the WSN offers immediate energy, the fertiliser’s natural organic base of humus-rich compost, beneficial microbiology and all 17 elements essential for plant photosynthesis builds a stable platform for good soil structure and consistent nutrient release as temperatures rise.

Stand 170 will also see the launch of Suståne’s new Zero-Phos range of natural base fertilisers – developed to allow turf grass managers to design nutrient plans for environments where phosphate application is restricted due to local or regional regulations, or agronomic situations where phosphate application is not required. Like all Suståne fertilisers, this range is built upon the finest base of composted ingredients co-granulated with mineral nutrient inputs. The final product offer a homogenous granular fertiliser, with each granule containing essential plant nutrients, stable organic matter, beneficial biology and humic substances. This new range is easy to apply, safe and agronomically effect, and the perfect input to promote healthy turf grass and healthy, biologically active soils.

Visitors can be among the first to learn about the two new Zero-Phos fine grade formulations – 4-0-6 and 8-0-6 100SGN – and one medium grade formulation, 14-0-6 200SGN, by speaking with Suståne’s technical team when BTME returns to the Harrogate Convention Centre on 20-22 January 2026.

New features of FSI B23:

  • Auto-Sweep Release: Automatically releases the sweep lock when the wheel brakes are applied, allowing you to reposition the machine quickly and safely at the stump.
  • Closed Bearing on Cutterwheel Housing: Pre-greased and sealed from the factory for over 1,000 hours of operation, eliminating daily greasing and reducing maintenance concerns.
  • Safety Bar: Stops the machine when released for increased operator safety.

Other new features also include a larger sweep for increased cutting range, recoil start of the engine, and a document tube and hour meter now included as standard.

“With FSI B23, we’ve refined what already worked well,” says Launy Luckmann, Development Engineer at FSI. “It’s a compact, reliable machine designed for professionals who want straightforward performance — with the comfort and simplicity that FSI is known for.”

The FSI B23 reflects Danish engineering at its best — simple, robust, and made to perform day after day with minimal maintenance. For more information and technical specifications, visit www.fsi-stumpcutters.com/product/engine/fsi-b23/

STIHL introduce the MS 400.1

STIHL introduce the MS 400.1: Setting new standards in the 60cc class, the new MS 400.1 forestry chainsaw offers professionals the best power-to-weight ratio of any professional chainsaw on the market.

Sitting in between the MS 261 C-M and MS 462 C-M, the new MS 400.1 replaces the existing MS 362 and MS 400.0 models in the lineup. The MS 400.1 has been re-developed from the ground up and is a completely new machine, building on the strengths of the original MS 400 and taking it to the next level.  The MS 400.1 weighs 5.5kg, 300g less than the original MS 400, and has a smaller engine displacement of 62.6cc. Despite this, the MS 400.1 still maintains an impressive power output of 3.9 kW, resulting in the best power-to-weight ratio of any petrol chainsaw available.

A second advantage of the MS 400.1 is the 4.3Nm of torque. When cutting large timber, the saw is less pressure sensitive and less likely to bog down mid-cut. Like all STIHL professional petrol chainsaws, the MS 400.1 uses the latest M-Tronic technology, resulting in easy starting and super-fast acceleration.

As well as technical improvements to the engine, a larger magnesium flywheel and improved muffler help to keep the saw cool during operation. A new larger HD2 filter keeps the saw running in tough conditions and cuts down on maintenance and downtime during the working day.

The geometry of the rear handle has been improved for more comfortable handling, and the end profile has been widened to rest securely on the operator’s leg, resulting in easier plunge cutting. This, combined with the new compact design, makes the MS 400.1 exceptionally easy to handle.

The rib pattern on the underside has been optimised to make cleaning faster. It also helps the saw to glide along the trunk when snedding, preventing bark and twigs from getting caught.

Located on the petrol tank, the new 50% marker gives a quick indication of the total fuel level, helping the operator to keep track of their consumption and fill up efficiently.

STIHL have also improved access to the oil pump control bolt, meaning adjustments can be made with a standard combination tool rather than a specialist screwdriver.
