Ferris® introduces Rover XC™ FS1200

Ferris® introduces Rover XC™ FS1200: Ferris® introduces with the Rover a unique spreader for granules, which, in addition to comfort, will bring the user above all much time advantage: the large Spyker 220-Series granule container has a capacity of 90 liters of granule, good for a capacity of over 5000 m².

The operator stands on an articulated platform, and the articulated frame makes the Rover very compact and mobile. Thanks to the cleverly designed center of gravity (granule holder is located directly above the drive shaft), traction is optimal even on sloping terrain. The frame of the Rover is 100% made of stainless steel and together with the fully sealed Peerless gear box is very well protected against corrosion and the action of aggressive chemicals. Thanks to the maximum width of only 90cm, most entrance gates in fences are not a problem. The Rover is powered by a professional 169cc Vanguard® 160 engine with an output of 3.6kW.

Less physical strain, great savings and consistent spreading pattern. The new Ferris® Rover is a godsend wherever a push spreader involves too much physical strain and where a PTO-driven spreader attached to a tractor would put too much soil strain.       Low soil pressure prevents rutting and compaction of the soil. The Rover weighs only 249kg with a full granulator and is on wide 13×6.50-6 pneumatic tires.

Wherever the Rover is deployed, it saves time above all else; with a maximum spread of 4.0 meters and an average capacity (based on 80% efficiency) of up to 1.2 hectares per hour, the investment is quickly recouped. Many times one can save hours and the use of several people who would have to do the same plot with a push spreader. Since with this method it is very important to maintain the same walking speed to ensure a constant spread, the use of the Rover on the same field is not only particularly time-saving, but also guarantees a consistent spread.

Ergonomically, the Rover is exemplary; the driver stands on a sulky in the optimal working position and steers the Rover from his shoulders and by shifting weight as usual on a (motor) bike. All controls are located centrally and within easy reach on the steering console, ensuring maximum control of the machine at all times. The Peerless 855-Series drive is fully protected and has 2 forward and 1 reverse gears, which are foot-adjustable without disengaging from the platform, as is the parking brake pedal. The maximum travel speed is 7.5 km/h.

A border-restrictor is adjustable from the front. A salt spreading deflector is optionally available; enabling deployment during slippery conditions in parking lots, bus-and train platforms, pedestrian zones, etc. with salt granules during winter services. Spreading infinitely adjustable between 90 and 240 cm ( https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7075018320390844417/ ).

The Rover will be available from June 2023 through exclusive Ferris distributors: ( https://www.ferrismowers.com/eu/en_gb/where-to-buy.html )

ICL introduces revolutionary biodegradable CRF technology

ICL introduces revolutionary biodegradable CRF technology: ICL introduces a revolutionary biodegradable coating technology for its controlled release fertilisers (CRF) in the turf market: eqo.s® technology.

The new coating for nitrogen is compliant with future (EU) fertiliser regulations, helping turf managers to improve their nutrient use efficiency (NUE) and will provide a solution for future sustainable turf management programmes.

ICL introduces revolutionary biodegradable CRF technology

ICL introduces revolutionary biodegradable CRF technology

With its patented eqo.s release technology, ICL takes the lead in providing a fully biodegradable coating that breaks down faster than existing coating technologies. The innovation will be introduced in ICL’s CRF portfolio for the turf segment, starting with the premium ranges Sierrablen and Sierrablen Plus.

In order to meet expected market demand, ICL has invested $20 million in a new production line for eqo.s release technology at its Heerlen facility in the Netherlands.

CRFs with eqo.s technology ensure optimal turf performance. The innovation is thoroughly tested in the field and has proven to be as reliable as current coatings, thus maintaining the high quality you can expect from ICL products. eqo.s release technology shows consistent and predictable nutrient release patterns while also limiting environmental impact by reducing nutrient losses and by increasing the NUE. After all nutrients are released, the coating degrades faster than ever before.

What turf professionals need to know

CRF products with eqo.s technology have the same advantages for turf professionals as current coating technologies as they improve the NUE and nutrient uptake by the plant. In addition:

  • Field trials with s prove similar, significant reduction in nitrogen leaching, volatilisation and denitrification.
  • s shows improved growth and quality with reduced fertiliser inputs, as fewer applications are required versus conventional fertilisers.
  • s shows the same consistent, reliable nutrient release for optimal growth.

Our CRF products are of the highest possible quality, and the technology we introduce today, eqo.s, works similar to the previous coating technologies, but with some key improvements”, confirms Dr Andy Owen, ICL lnternational Technical Manager Turf & Landscape. “The application rates and high quality results will remain, and even the look of the product is comparable. It is good news for turf managers and greenkeepers as their CRF products will give the same high performance as before. What makes it revolutionary is that the fully biodegradable eqo.s coating breaks down quicker and is completely compliant with future fertiliser regulations.”

Spreading the eqo.s revolution

Though eqo.s technology will first be introduced into ICL’s premium CRF ranges of Sierrablen and Sierrablen Plus in 2023, ICL is confident that by, mid-2026, when the new biodegradability requirements will take effect on the EU market, the company will be able to provide fast biodegradable coatings for all its CRFs in the turf and landscape market.

Ferris® Introduces FRC7

Ferris® Introduces FRC7: Ferris®  introduces the FRC7 commercial remote controlled mower with true hybrid technology that uses the latest mowing technology: The 48V DC drive system provides power to the blades and to the tracks. The FRC7 can drive up to 200 m on battery power only without having to start the engine.

Less physical strain, no exposure to vibrations and an overall safer operation. The new Ferris® FRC7 remote controlled mower ticks all the boxes and greatly improves the operator’s ease and comfort of maintaining the urban green space. Especially those areas that are difficult to reach in terms of underground and orientation. Mowing banks and other inclined areas can potentially cause dangerous situations for both the operator and bystanders. Using dedicated remote controlled machinery drastically reduces risk, physical effort and exposure to vibration, noise and emissions.

Ferris® Introduces FRC7

Ferris® Introduces FRC7

The FRC7’s tracked low-gravity undercarriage ensures stability on steep inclines up to 55° and provides superior traction. Both the tracks and mower deck are electrically driven by a hybrid e-drive system that combines a combustion engine with a battery drive system, resulting in a highly effective powertrain. The FRC7 can mow forwards and backwards, making turning on a slope unnecessary. This will prevent potential damage to the underlying soil. The Vanguard® EFI engine is fuel-efficient and operates independently from the electrical system. Its load sensing ability keeps the mower deck performing optimally and automatically adjusts the mowing speed when conditions get tougher.

Kubota introduces M6-001 Utility series

Kubota introduces M6-001 Utility series: Kubota (UK) Ltd has taken the covers off a cost-sensitive, five-model M6-001 Utility series tractor range. As the successor to the MGX models, the M6-001 Utility series spans 104-143hp, and meets EU Stage V emissions thanks to an improved exhaust after-treatment package that contributes to a lower cost of ownership.

Like the MGX, it offers plenty of horsepower for local authorities, grounds maintenance contractors and racecourse groundsmen looking to increase productivity with larger implements, while delivering simplicity of operation and exceptional reliability.

Short wheelbase models include the M6-101U and M6-111U, and both use a 3.8-litre Kubota V3800 four cylinder engine. Maximum power outputs are 104hp and 111hp, with maximum torque figures of 346Nm and 379Nm respectively. These two models weigh 4.3 tonnes, and use a 2.54m wheelbase.

Long wheelbase M6-121U, M6-131U and M6-141U use Kubota’s 6.1-litre V6108 four cylinder engine. Power outputs are 123hp, 133hp and 143hp, with maximum torque figures of 503Nm, 544Nm and 586Nm respectively. These three larger models weigh 4.8 tonnes, and use a 2.68m wheelbase.

Engine technology on all models has seen an improvement in exhaust after-treatment, with DOC and DPF performance increased to deliver greater operational flexibility and lower cost of ownership. DPF regeneration can now be achieved at a much lower engine speed – typically 1,200rpm down from 2,000rpm – and using a much lower working temperature of just 50 degrees C. The latter makes regeneration much easier to achieve with light engine loads, lower noise levels and a reduced fuel burn.

The DPF cleaning interval for M6-001 Utility tractors is 8,000 hours for the 6.1 litre engine, and up to 6000 hours for the 3.8 litre engine, again contributing to lower operating costs. Engine oil change intervals are every 500 hours on all models.

All M6-001 Utility models get a 40kph semi-powershift transmission, which uses eight powershifts in three mechanical ranges to provide a 24×24 gearbox. The option of a creeper range increases the choice of ratios to 32×32. Transmission functionality includes auto-shifting in each range, and a sensitivity dial – the latter allows operators to adjust the responsiveness of gear changes to suit load on the tractor.

Operator comfort is provided by an air suspension seat in the same cab frame shared wth M6-002 and M7003 models, while front axle suspension is available as an option. A wide sunroof offers generous visibility for those looking to equip the M6-001 Utility with a loader, of which there are two variants – 3.7m or 4m lift height to the pin, and maximum lift capacities of 1,950kg or 2,200kg respectively.

A fixed displacement open centre hydraulic system provides 71 and 77 litres/min of oil flow respectively for short- and long-wheelbase models, while two mechanically operated spool valves are fitted as standard. Two additional spools are optional.

The Cat III rear linkage includes electronic linkage control with a five-tonne lift capacity on short wheelbase models and 6.1 tonnes on long wheelbase tractors. PTO equipment comprises a two-speed 540/1000 as standard, with a 540 Eco available as an option. All models can be equipped with an optional front linkage with 2.6 tonnes lift capacity, an optional 1,000rpm front pto, and the capability to run pto-powered equipment while stationary.

M6-001 Utility models also benefit from Kubota’s portal front axle with bevel gear drive, offering generous ground clearance and a 55-degree steering angle.

Kubota’s M6-001 Utility series is priced from £53,300 for the 104hp M6-101U, with the M6-141U costing £75,200. A range of Kubota Care warranty packages are available, offering up to five years and 5,000 hours of cover.
