All are designed to offer performance that mimics a high performance natural pitch with pace and bounce to promote every aspect of the modern game.

The systems feature variations in base construction and carpet type to suit varying site conditions and client requirements. The flagship tp365 NPC features a dynamic aggregate base system topped with total-play’s exclusive shock pads and a premium quality Wilton Woven carpet in the natural colourway. tp5t NPC offers the same base construction but with a tufted as opposed to woven carpet, offering a great solution for clubs on a budget, while ‘tpB1 NPC’ offers an engineered base (tarmac) – ideal for clubs where flooding could be an issue and minimum maintenance is high priority – with the same premium quality woven carpet as ‘tp365’.

MD David Bates says:

“Now we with have SIX ECB approved system designs we offer an unmatched choice in non-turf cricket practise facilities.

“Adding new carpet colours to our existing range, simply gives our clients a more choice than ever before. Dependant on site conditions, maintenance goals and the required performance, total-play can now truly design a system bespoke to any client. Not all projects are the same – allow us to show you why.”

Also on display will be the recently released Campey Uni-Scratch. This machine is the ideal solution for professional and effective maintenance of natural grass and can also be used for the final organic matter removal on natural grass hybrid carpet pitches when carrying out annual renovations.

Away from turf grooming, Campey will also be exhibiting the Air2G2 Air Inject and Air2hp. The pedestrian aeration machine has become a recognised figure in the turf industry by allowing users to aerate as and when they need to with no disruption. This has been taken a step further with the Air2hp. The hand probe is ideal for sand bunkers, small spaces and hard to reach places and can quickly treat areas of standing water using the hand-operated valve to inject air below the surface in a diameter of up to 3ft (0.9m).

Renovations will also play a part on stand C050 with the 1.6m Koro FIELDTOPMAKER. Since the introduction of the machine to market, fraise mowing has become a standard practice, and as the technology has become more refined, it has been used on new sports surfaces, with cricket the latest to adopt the practice. The accuracy on multiple surfaces comes from using the UniverseÒ rotor with 3mm and 5mm blades. With the 3mm blades on four spirals, you can remove 30% of the surface with 3mm removed and 7mm remaining. There is also the option of removing 15% using two spirals with 3mm removed and 17mm remaining. Having these options available means each job can be tailored to what the surface requires.

A machine that is equally variable is the Dakota 310. This compact and very manoeuvrable dual spinner topdresser can spread up to 6m wide, with the width and amount of topdressing infinitely variable using the individual hand controls on the handlebar. It is ideal for spreading sand, rubber crumb and other topdressings on surfaces that require lightweight machines to be used or are difficult to access with larger spreaders.

Completing the line-up will be a Vredo Overseeder along with a team of Campey product specialists, who will be available to answer any questions related to the machines and turf maintenance.

John Deere Launch New Battery Mower

Built around an aluminium mower deck with steel reinforcement and alloy wheels for extra durability and reliability, the PRO 43B has shown impressive cutting and bagging performance in pre-production field tests, says John Deere, with no compromise in performance compared with petrol engine driven mowers.

The 36V mower’s new Powerhead carries two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and switches automatically to the second battery when the first one is empty. Charging capacity is 6Ah as standard, with a full electric charge taking 2 hours 20 minutes and providing up to 500m2 mowing capacity. A spring-loaded battery release system adds to the ease of operation.

Cutting width of the PRO 43B is 43cm and there is a choice of seven cutting heights from 22 to 80mm, easily set by a central lever. The mower comes with a 45-litre capacity grass bagger that features a simple TurboStar ‘bag full’ indicator flag, and a height adjustable handlebar that can be folded for storage. Overall weight with an empty bagger is 32kg.

The new John Deere PRO 43B commercial battery mower will be sold with a two-year warranty (one year on the batteries), and will be available from UK and Irish dealers in 2020.

New Razorback RT 500 Rotary Mower Boasts High Standard of British Engineering

With a cutting width of five metres, the Razorback RT 500 mower boasts solid construction and efficient rotary blade action which makes light work of most demanding agricultural and amenity operations.

As you would expect from a British-engineered product built on decades of heritage, the Razorback RT 500 has been developed with strength and durability in mind. Specifically, it features an easy-clean double skin deck and full-length removable skid shoes to extend the longevity of the machine.

Additionally, the RT 500 is fitted with the highest specification Bondioli & Pavesi gearboxes and drivelines with the latest easy lubrication system. Housed by top of the range guards, the 250HP driveline assembly provides ample power to the wing mower’s three triple-blade rotors, with a wing free float to help protect the hydraulic rams from excessive wear.

The combination of the deck’s unique shape and the triple blade configuration produces unapparelled updraft to award users a superior cut, even for a longer swath finish. The free-swinging blades have been produced out of Swedish Boron steel and a generous overlap to deliver an exceptionally clean cut and an even distribution of chopped residue across the entire working width of the machine. Debris is contained by the front and rear chain guards.

The RT 500 features four individually pressurised wheel arms fitted with heavy duty wheels on twin axles which award superior stability thanks to better cutting height control, contributing towards a smoother finish. Additionally, the RT 500’s wings offer a wide range of movement enabling the machine to closely follow the contours of the ground.

As well as the fine quality of the cut, the attention to detail on RT 500 extends to other useful features such as a MOD approved hydraulic hoses, a PTO driveline rest, full width LED lighting bar, tight turning circle  and a compact transportation width of just 2.4m.

The high-end specification as standard, exceptional performance and flexibility make Razorback RT 500 make it an appealing choice for farms, airports, racecourses, council authorities and amenity contractors alike.

Auto-Level 550 Reach Mower

Alongside the grass and stubble range, Razorback will be presenting their Auto-Level 550 reach mower. Featuring self-levelling Co-Pilot technology, the Razorback Auto-Level 550 reach mower has been designed to reduce operator fatigue, increase productivity and reduce cost. The 1.5-metre-wide rotary safety head option incorporates a SoftStart triple rotor and additional mulching blades which are in continuous contact with vegetation during the entire 360° cycle, resulting in a much cleaner and faster cut.

Razorback’s Auto-Level Co-Pilot technology ensures that the main frame of the machine remains level at all times, irrespective of the tractor angle in relation to the undulating ground. Subsequently, the requirement to make manual adjustments to account for the unevenness of the terrain is significantly reduced, making for a much easier, trouble-free operation.

The high-end specification comes as standard with the Auto-Level Co-Pilot device, electronic proportional controls and a fully independent hydraulic system with an oil cooler.   The 5.5m reach machine is available with a 1.5m rotary safety head with hydraulically controlled front hood and rear roller or a 1.2m belt driven flail head giving the operator greater flexibility to configure their own machine.
