CWC Launch New Website

CWC Launch New Website: In light of increasing public scrutiny over glyphosate, Complete Weed Control (CWC) is pleased to announce the launch a new online glyphosate resource: www.glyphosateinfo.co.uk.

The website is but one facet of CWC’s ongoing campaign to address the misinformation and fear mongering that is pervading the industry.  The layout is that of a ‘FAQ’ (Frequently Asked Questions) library containing useful information such as which qualifications are required to use glyphosate professionally; what PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is necessary and how soon after application people and animals can use the treated area.

CWC Launch New Website

Designed with a gamut of stakeholders in mind including members of the public, local authorities and industry operatives, there is also a wealth of information available through the “Resources” section: from links to related articles from the European Food Safety Authority, to operative-oriented advice on tender specification, complaint handling and application advice.

The concept was brought about following CWC’s successful “Glyphosate Roadshows” – staged in numerous venues throughout the UK – having been attended by over 150 local authority delegates from across the country.

Speaking at the seminar, Complete Weed Control’s managing director, Ian Graham, said: “There has been a considerable and sustained volume of frankly unsubstantiated bad press and much negativity surrounding this product – so we felt it was essential that we explore the reality and present the data that exists from numerous agencies around the world that have all declared this product to be safe.”

Indeed, this data is now readily available through the website and its primary function is to act as a uniform point of reference for common questions posed by members of the public to spray operatives.  All Complete Weed Control employees will now be equipped with a wallet-sized card that displays both a text URL and QR code that leads the enquirer to the FAQ.

To help tackle the growing public concern for glyphosate use in amenity space, Complete Weed Control is offering a similar service with bespoke rebranding for local authorities whom will be able to disseminate their own cards throughout their constituency. Any local authorities interested in this service should contact Complete Weed Control.

Trime UK Launch X-DUST FIGHTER

Trime UK Launch X-DUST FIGHTER: Following on from the successful launch of the environmentally sound, X-SPLASH and X-BOOT site cleaning systems, Trime UK have completed the development of another water-centred product – the X-DUST FIGHTER.

The X-DUST FIGHTER is designed to provide workers with safe protection from airborne contaminates in concentrated areas, helping to deliver a healthier atmosphere in which to complete their duties. The X-DUST FIGHTER produces a fine spray of water through a series of high-pressure jets; the mist is then propelled onto the site by a powerful fan, rendering the area free from unhealthy and hazardous material.  The X-DUST FIGHTER is ideally suited for both outdoor and indoor applications.

Trime UK Launch X-DUST FIGHTER

Similar in size to a small cement mixer, the Trime X-DUSTFIGHTER is highly portable and can easily be positioned to maximise its effectiveness. An operator simply connects the X-DUST FIGHTER to a constant water source and an 110v electricity supply and the machine is ready to work.

The X-DUST FIGHTER will cover to 15 metres. The emitted nebulised water particles are designed to measure a tiny 40–120 micron diameter. This means that they mix with any airborne dust particles of similar dimensions and force them to the ground.

Trime UK’s research suggests that the X-DUST FIGHTER will become an essential health and safety component with trades such as builders, landscapers, light demolition contractors and recycling agencies. It is also an ideal product for inclusion into a rental fleet.

Commenting on this latest innovation from Trime, Paul Hay, managing director said, “The X-SPLASH has already been a great success and the interest we have received about the X-BOOT is very encouraging, so we fully expect the X-DUST FIGHTER to be an equal success.”

“Not only do these products help to improve the standards of safety on site, but they also contribute to an overall improvement of efficiency at work, whilst helping to reduce overall water usage,” added Paul.

Trime UK Limited designs, develops and distributes a range of sustainable equipment for the UK construction, rental and events markets. Trime UK is headquartered in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire; their manufacturing plant is based near Milan, Italy.

ECHO Launch First Mower

ECHO Launch First Mower: ECHO has built an enviable reputation for producing quality outdoor power tools, both professional and domestic. Until now, only a lawnmower has been missing from the range but that has been rectified with the introduction of a new 58V battery powered mower. Part of ECHO’s new 58V range, the LM-58V4AH offers petrol performance from a battery product. ECHO is quick to point out the new mower is the product of extensive development and built to the same professional standards as all its tools.

The question is, why would you choose battery power over petrol? ECHO answers this with a mower that has all the power of its petrol counterparts, whilst bringing a range of battery benefits and green credentials. These include low noise, low vibration, no emissions at the point of use and minimal maintenance. This makes it ideal for working in noise and emission sensitive areas such as parks and public gardens, educational establishments and around hospitals as well as domestic gardens. Coupled with no fuel filling or fuel storage required, no pull start and a lower lifetime cost of ownership, it’s easy to see why ECHO’s new lawnmower is perfect for today’s keen gardener.

ECHO Launch First Mower

The LM-58V4AH is powered by a 58V lithium-ion battery and a brushless motor, which is long lasting and maintenance free due to non-wearing parts; helping to reduce downtime and servicing costs. It has a run time of up to forty minutes on one battery and comes with a quick charger to fully charge the 4Ah battery in sixty minutes. So you just charge and go. There are dual battery compartments and a simple key system activates a second optional battery for maximum convenience and minimal disruption.

The mower features a 53cm (21”) cutting deck that is robust, won’t rust and comes with a grass collection bag and mulch plug, offering the versatility of collection or mulching. Wheel height adjusters with seven positions let you easily select multiple cutting heights and there is a three position handle adjustment for maximum user comfort. The quick release handle enables compact vertical or horizontal storage.

ECHO’S 58V interchangeable battery system allows one battery to fit multiple tools. So the 4Ah battery that comes with the mower can be used with any of the 58V products in the range which, together with the mower, comprises a chainsaw, power blower, hedgetrimmer and trimmer. ECHO offers a one-year professional use or two-year domestic warranty on the LM-58V4AH, which shows their confidence in the machine, and there is a two-year warranty on all 58V lithium-ion batteries. You can find out more from your local authorised ECHO dealer, by visiting www.echo-tools.co.uk or calling 0800 597 7777 for more information.

Cub Cadet Launch XR Robotic Mowers

Cub Cadet Launch XR Robotic Mowers: Leading lawnmower manufacturer Cub Cadet has launched a ground-breaking new range of robotic mowers, the XR Enduro Series.

Built with innovation and convenience in mind, the new robots – XR1, XR2 and XR3 – mow up to 10 percent faster than similar models on the market due to the patented blade technology and strong mowing system, producing a perfectly trimmed lawn in no time.

Cub Cadet Launch XR Robotic Mowers

The robots have been developed with state-of-the-art technology and features that meet both consumer and professional needs to save the time and effort of mowing.

The XR1 500 features a strong, floating, self-cleaning mowing deck that handles challenging terrain with incredible accuracy and produces clippings fine enough to mulch into the soil. This process acts as a natural fertiliser resulting in a better-looking lawn, improved performance and reduced maintenance.

The XR2 and XR3 robots in the range have the unique ability to trim right up to the edge of the lawn thanks to the patented steel blades which cut beyond the wheelbase. Therefore, there is no need for a lawn edge cutter or strimmer, saving space on storage. Also, the robots will mow areas of up to 5000m².

By utilising state-of-the-art technology, gardeners will have complete control of their robot, any place, any time, using their smartphone or home computer to view reports and change mowing schedules. As well as being Alexa compatible, they have pin code security, and some models come with Bluetooth remote control capability and GPS, which allows the mower to be tracked.

The ever-changing British weather needn’t be a problem either as the integrated rain sensor alerts the robot to return to its home when it starts raining. It can then start cutting again when the weather improves.

Phil Noble, field sales and technical manager for Cub Cadet, said: “We have waited for the right time to join this competitive market to ensure our robotic mowers have all the features that a gardener could want. Customers are now starting to see robotics as a viable option to a traditional walk-behind mower or a lawn tractor, so by creating a range which is smart, innovative, cost-effective and convenient to use, we are showing that a robotic mower is the future of mowing.”

The XR mowers are equipped with Smart Mow which instead of stopping and turning when the robot reaches the perimeter wire, turns in a continuously smooth arc, saving time and ensuring a better-quality cut.

Deciding when to mow isn’t an issue as the robots can be programmed to run at any time of the day, even when the user is away on holiday. The robotic mowers run between 68 and 74 decibels, depending on the model, meaning even during the night gardeners can be assured the lawn will still be cut to a high standard, without disrupting neighbours or wildlife.

For this range, Cub Cadet has also introduced the exclusive Robozone. This innovative feature works either via a battery or mains power and is a signal transmitter, which means that the robotic mower can be used in another garden without having to buy a second charging station – ideal for when a gardener needs to go round to mow the parent’s lawn. It also enables the robot to be used in difficult and hard-to-reach areas where there is no mains power. This cutting-edge product from Cub Cadet means the robot can be utilised for more than one job.

Phil added: “A robotic mower will give you back the time spent mowing the lawn to use doing other things whilst still have a perfectly trimmed lawn. Also, robots mulch the grass exceptionally well, which helps put nutrients back into the lawn, keeping it green and healthy – even in drought conditions like last year, it’s a win-win situation.”

Doosan Launch New Mini-Excavators

Doosan Launch New Mini-Excavators: Doosan is launching new versions of the company’s very successful DX62R-3 and DX63-3 6 tonne and DX85R-3 8 tonne mini-excavators that meet Stage V engine emission regulations.

The new Stage V DX85R-3 8 tonne reduced tail swing (RTS) excavator from Doosan is powered by the Yanmar 4TNV98C Common Rail direct injection diesel engine, providing 44.3 kW of power at a rated speed of 2100 rpm. It meets Stage V emission requirements through the use of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) after-treatment technologies.

Doosan Launch New Mini-Excavators

The new Stage V versions of the 6 tonne DX62R-3 RTS and DX63-3 conventional tail swing models are powered by the same Yanmar 4TNV98C diesel engine, providing a massive 22% increase in engine power over the previous generation models.

The DX62R-3, DX63-3 and DX85R-3 mini-excavators are designed to offer maximum performance, versatility, operator comfort, durability, ease of maintenance and serviceability in their respective classes.

As well as the huge increase in engine power, another of the stand-out features on the 6 tonne excavators is the hydraulic performance, with a maximum flow rate of 132 l/min. The hydraulic system incorporates a load sensing system which guarantees high hydraulic performance and allows smooth and efficient combined operations.

This is complemented by the high digging forces on both machines – the bucket digging force is 4.4 tonne and the arm digging force is 2.9 tonne. This is combined with a longer arm for a better overall working range. The traction force is 5.6 tonne and travel speeds are 2.6 km/h in the low range and 4.7 km/h in the high range.

The DX85R-3 excavator offers excellent fuel efficiency, among the best in its class. The bucket digging force is an impressive 6.3 tonne and this is combined with a traction force of 6.6 tonne, whilst travel speeds are 2.7 km/h in the low range and 4.7 km/h in the high range.

High Comfort Cab – Low Noise & Optimum Safety

The space available in the ROPS operator cabs on the DX62R-3, DX63-3 and DX85R-3 mini-excavators is similar to that found on much larger medium and heavy-duty machines. The cabs have a large entrance and exit, ensuring it is easy to get in and out of the machines.

A high capacity heating and air conditioning system is standard, with fully adjustable vents installed at both the front and rear of the operator’s seat to maximise efficiency. The interior of the cabs has been ergonomically designed to optimise operator comfort and features an ample foot rest area and an additional cup holder, and the openness of the cabs provides a wide field of view and excellent all-round visibility. The cab lighting, sun visor and side mirror all contribute to a safe and pleasant working environment for the operator.

The position and angle of the seat cushion as well as the position of the consoles can be adjusted to suit the operator. Additional comfort is provided by the seat back pocket and the lumbar support. A seat heater is available as an option.

All the excavators are designed for easy, precise controllability with the left and right control stands ergonomically placed for convenient operation. The proportional hydraulic joystick levers have comfortable grips that allow the operator to perform smooth, precise actions.

There is a full colour 5.7 inch LCD monitor that allows operators to control auxiliary flow and to monitor functions such as service periods. The control panel provides comprehensive information about the status of the machine and there is anti-theft protection as standard via a password lock-out system.

Hydraulic flow control is enabled via roller software for control of auxiliary hydraulic flow (Aux1/Aux2), boom swing (offset) and tilting operations. In addition, auto down shift and dozer float levelling functions are all now available on the new models.

Safety features as standard include lock valves on the arm and the boom cylinders and an overload warning device. Other standard features include an electric refuelling pump and a defroster for the windshield.

The low noise and emission levels of all three models ensure they are suitable for operation in noise sensitive areas and at night.

Easy Maintenance

The advanced technology used in the excavators complements the powerful performance with simple, easy maintenance procedures. Convenient check points make it easy to do routine maintenance, while a tilting cab simplifies service work.

The large-capacity radiator enables performance in severe and continuous operations. Access to the radiator and cooler is easy, making cleaning a simple process. The various parts of the engine can be accessed from the side, with the engine oil and fuel filter attached to the engine body extending out for easy maintenance.

The large capacity two-stage forced air cleaner removes over 99% of airborne particles, reducing the risk of engine contamination and lengthening the intervals for cleaning and cartridge change. Integrated grease piping is designed for easy maintenance of the swing bearing and swing cylinder. The fuse box is conveniently located in a section of the storage compartment behind the operator’s seat. Sufficient space is also provided for easy adjustment or replacement of the fan belt.
