Campey™ launches essential golf course maintenance tools

Campey™ launches essential golf course maintenance tools: Once again Campey Turf Care™ brings essential equipment to the Turf professional with the introduction of several new maintenance products for golf courses. The new products will be in addition to the excellent range of machinery that is already synonymous with the Campey name and manufacturers such as Dakota, Vredo, Imants, Foley Air 2G2, Koro and Imants!

First in the new line-up is the Fairway Falcon; an articulating, pull-type fairway brush, that uses a unique brushing system that contours to undulations. It covers a 4.5m span providing efficient, consistent performance. The unit can be towed by a wide range of equipment compatible with an electric 12-volt system and is ideal for pre-cut preparation, dew removal, de-thatching, disease control, worm cast and aeration core removal and brushing in topdressings. Next up is the BM45 Scarifier with Hi-Tip Collection is a professional scarifier with fixed blade collection. Due to the blade fixing system, their replacement does not require the complete disassembly of the transmission and rotor, but only of the worn blades. The high-performance rotor guarantees excellent work in all conditions, even when the cutting edge of the blade is not in optimal condition. In addition, the collector with hydraulic discharge on the ground allows the material removed from the ground to be collected in a single pass. The high ventilation created by the rotor allows it to be used also as a leaf vacuum.

And last but not least is the latest Campey Seed Shot. This simple but very effective device is the perfect re-seeding tool for tackling very specific areas. The latest model is a smaller version to carry smaller seeds such as Bent grass particularly for use on fairways and golf greens. It is perfectly designed with 19 holes to accommodate smaller sized seed, injecting up to 4-5mm deep, in precise quantities and delivering optimal germination rates.

The team of Campey Turf Care Systems is looking forward to seeing you all at BTME 2025 in Harrogate!

Dennis ES-860’s Power Sustainable Maintenance

Dennis ES-860’s Power Sustainable Maintenance: Roehampton Club, a prestigious multi-sports and social club in southwest London, has embraced sustainable practices with the introduction of two Dennis ES-860 battery-powered mowers.

Head Groundsman Simon Bailey and the grounds team have welcomed these new additions, which have helped improve the club’s maintenance of its tennis grass courts and croquet lawns.

Dennis ES-860’s Power Sustainable Maintenance

Roehampton Club, with its vast range of facilities including an 18-hole parkland golf course, 28 tennis courts, croquet lawns, and other sports amenities, requires high standards of upkeep. The introduction of the ES-860 mowers has made a significant difference in the grounds team’s operations.

“We’ve been using Dennis mowers for over 15 years, and when it was time to upgrade, the move to electric felt like a natural step,” says Simon. “The Dennis ES-860 battery mowers are perfect for us. Being in London and surrounded by houses, we need to be mindful of any noise. These battery-powered mowers allow us to start working at 6am without disturbing our neighbours – that’s a big win for us.”

The ES-860 is a 34-inch battery-powered turf management system, designed to handle a variety of tasks using its 13 interchangeable cassettes, including cutting, scarifying, brushing, and verticutting. For Simon and the team, the flexibility of this system is one of its most valuable features.

“We use the ES-860 on our tennis courts and croquet lawns. On the tennis courts, we use them mainly for mowing, while on the croquet lawns, we use the verticutting and scarifying cassettes. The wide cutting width makes the job much quicker, and because we have two of them, we can cover a lot of ground fast,” Simon explains.

Environmental consciousness is a key focus at Roehampton Club. “We’ve got solar panels on all our roofs, and we’re committed to making our operations more sustainable, so switching to battery-powered mowers was the logical choice,” Simon says. “These mowers reduce our fuel costs, and with no hydraulics, there’s a reduced risk of spills and mechanical issues.”

Simon also highlights the impressive battery life. “We maintain 0.7 hectares of lawn tennis, and even after completing all the work, we’ve used less than 50% of the battery. What’s more, the battery performance remains consistent, whether we’re mowing, scarifying, or verticutting. It’s very reassuring.”

The adaptability of the Dennis ES-860 is a major advantage for Simon, allowing the team to change cassettes quickly and efficiently to suit the task at hand. “The best feature is the ability to swap the cassettes out in minutes. One minute, we’re verticutting, and the next, we’re mowing. This flexibility allows us to get more done in a day.”

Simon also praises the mowers for their quality of cut and ease of use. “The quality of cut is exceptional. We can control the speed and cassette speed easily, allowing for precise work without leaving marks when turning. The performance is always consistent, and we’re very happy with how they’ve enhanced our work.”

With the addition of the Dennis ES-860s, the grounds team at Roehampton Club have not only improved their day-to-day operations but have also taken a significant step toward greater sustainability. “If you’re looking to reduce costs, noise, and emissions, while maintaining a high-quality playing surface, the Dennis ES-860 is the perfect solution,” Simon concludes.

Campey brings compact maintenance to SALTEX

Campey brings compact maintenance to SALTEX: Campey Turf Systems is ready to showcase a select range of compact maintenance equipment at Saltex 2024, including the Dakota 310 Turf Tender, Vredo Turf Buddy and Campey SeedShot.

Providing precision turf equipment for every situation has always been a priority for Campey, and focusing on machines and tools that work in smaller areas is this year’s theme on Stand H120 at the NEC.

The largest machine on display will be the Dakota 310. The compact and very manoeuvrable dual spinner pedestrian top-dresser is designed to ensure you can take Dakota’s renowned spread anywhere. The six-meter-wide spread can be infinitely varied using the individual controls, making it perfect for spreading sand, rubber crumb and other top dressings on sports surfaces wherever they are located.

For precision overseeding where other machines can’t access, Campey has the Vredo Turf Buddy. Using the tried and tested double disc system, the Turf Buddy sows in four rows at a 35 mm distance, with the 15 cm discs cutting the soil open for the grass seed to be deposited at a depth between 10 and 20 mm before the wheel compacts the soil.

Sometimes, very specific areas need to be targeted, and the Campey Seed Shot is the perfect tool for the job. Using 19 holes designed for ryegrass or similar-sized seed, the tool injects up to 20 mm deep, ensuring precise quantities and optimal germination rates.

Campey product specialists will be on Stand H120 to discuss these machines and others in the Campey range, have a catch-up or discuss any questions over a coffee.

Power through autumn maintenance with Toro and AgriMetal

Power through autumn maintenance with Toro and AgriMetal: Autumn is a time of transformation for golf courses, sports grounds and other green spaces, but the season brings its own set of challenges. The good news? Reesink Turfcare has a host of innovative solutions from Toro and AgriMetal that will transform your autumn renovation routine, making leaf and debris clearance remarkably fast and easy.

The right tools for the job

Clearing fallen leaves and debris during this busy period is more than a matter of keeping the grounds looking tidy.

Power through autumn maintenance with Toro and AgriMetal

According to Jon Cole, Divisional Business Manager at Reesink Turfcare, “Autumn is all about preparing the surface so it can get through the winter without too much damage and be ready to go in the spring. Removing fallen leaves from golf courses, sports grounds or other green spaces is a critical job that goes beyond aesthetic concerns. Indeed, left unchecked, this kind of buildup can smother even healthy, resilient turf in a matter of weeks.”

To avoid this outcome — and the risk of moss growth and disease — turfcare professionals must clear excess leaves at least once a week, but the handheld solutions traditionally used can be extremely time-consuming. However, with the right equipment, this daunting task becomes significantly easier, allowing your teams to focus on the finer details of course maintenance.

Toro and AgriMetal: The perfect partners for autumn renovations

Leader in the turfcare industry Reesink knows what it takes to tackle these autumn jobs effectively, simplifying and streamlining the process. That’s why the distributor offers the best solutions for leaf clearance available on the market, engineered by renowned brands Toro and AgriMetal. These machines are designed to meet, and exceed, the demands of today’s turfcare professionals, ensuring that your green spaces remain in top condition throughout the autumn and winter months.

Toro ProLine H800: Efficiency redefined

The Toro ProLine H800 stands out as a top choice for those looking to streamline their autumn renovations. This direct collect rotary mower is engineered for efficiency. Its Smart AirFlow system ensures that leaves and debris are vacuumed up quickly into an 810-litre hopper, allowing for longer collection times without the need for frequent emptying.

With a 41-litre fuel tank, the ProLine H800 provides the freedom needed to complete a full day’s work without interruption. As Jon notes, “The ProLine H800 is all about maximising productivity. It’s a machine that allows groundskeepers to focus on getting the job done.”

Toro Pro Force: Power meets precision

When it comes to clearing grass clippings and other debris from fairways, clubhouse grounds, or paved areas, the Toro Pro Force is your go-to machine. Towed by a Toro Workman MD Series or a similar utility vehicle, this turbine-style debris blower is both powerful and precise. Operated by wireless control, the Pro Force generates a strong airflow capable of shifting even the wettest, heaviest leaves in no time. This machine is all about delivering results quickly, allowing you to maintain large areas with minimal effort.

AgriMetal: Quietly versatile

For those seeking a tractor-mounted solution, AgriMetal offers some of the most powerful and quiet options available. The B35 and B50 blower models are perfect for tractors with 35hp and 50hp at the PTO, respectively. These machines are equipped with an impeller that increases airflow by 25 percent compared to similar models, making them some of the most efficient on the market. And because they require less energy at full throttle, they’re as economical as they are powerful.

AgriMetal’s collectors include the Multi Vac – pulled and powered by any 50hp+ tractor – and the Tuff Vac 4000, coming in two variants: PTO driven for use with a 35hp+ tractor or with its own 27hp engine. Both deliver a simple but effective proposition with a large exhaust area for more powerful vacuuming and less clogging, turf-sensitive design and a lightweight aluminium impeller for welcomed quieter use.

Preparing for autumn with Reesink Turfcare

As the unpredictable autumn season approaches, equipping your team with the right tools is essential for maintaining uptime in an industry that never stops. With Toro and AgriMetal’s advanced solutions, you can be confident that your grounds will be well-prepared for whatever the season throws at them.

Jon adds, “The key to successful autumn renovations is having the right equipment. With the machines we distribute at Reesink, there’s no reason why leaf and debris clearance shouldn’t be straightforward.”
