Makita’s hottest new product: Leading tool manufacturer Makita has launched its eagerly anticipated cordless microwave oven. Driven by the company’s powerful 40VMax XGT battery, the new MW001GZ is designed for portability, allowing users to enjoy hot, microwaved meals in minutes, whether on site, on the road, or at leisure.

The 8-litre capacity MW001GZ is powered by one or two 40VMax XGT batteries and is designed to utilise the power sequentially for continuous power when it’s needed.

With two output settings – 500W or 350W, the inner heating area is large enough to fit most microwave containers and provides a continuous heating time of up to 37 minutes (when used with two BL4080F batteries at 500W output).

To withstand tough conditions such as building sites, this compact and durable microwave has been manufactured with a tempered door glass and is dust and water resistant. The appliance also features large carry handles for easy transportation and is also supplied with a carry strap. A USB port is also built-in for charging devices such as mobile phones.

As part of Makita’s XGT battery platform, this exciting product fits in seamlessly with Makita’s expanding XGT power tool collection, enabling users to swap batteries between tasks and switch to the microwave when required.

“As a world-first for Makita, we are thrilled to launch this outstanding new cordless appliance,” said Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita UK. “The new MW001GZ is the perfect jobsite or leisure companion, affording users with a hot, microwaved meal or drink in minutes without the need for sourcing an AC supply or power generators. Thanks to Makita’s powerful XGT battery technology, the microwave delivers great runtimes, so users can heat up food and drinks over a full working day.”

Makita’s new four-wheeled workhouse

Makita’s new four-wheeled workhouse: Makita has added a new 36V battery powered wheelbarrow to its line-up. Capable of carrying loads of up to 300kg, the new DCU604 Brushless LXT Wheelbarrow with pipe frame carrier includes a range of features to move loads around the worksite with ease.

Designed to reduce the physical demands of work, the new DCU604 motorised wheelbarrow benefits from a 36V Brushless motor which is powered by two 18V LXT Li-ion batteries in series. Thanks to Makita’s unique combination of motor power and battery technology, this versatile device can carry loads of up to 300kg and travel up to 7.2km (when used with 4x BL1860B 6.0Ah batteries). To extend run times, the DCU604 holds four batteries – so once the first pair has discharged, simply flick the switch to change over to the second set.

Users can choose from three forward speeds of either 1.5km/h for a gentle walking pace, or 3.5km/h, or 5.0km/h. It also features reverse gear and is capable of climbing a 12° incline (with up to 180kg of cargo).

In addition to the powerful drive, this cordless machine includes well thought out features that make it easier to transport loads around the job site. The durable wheels have been engineered to ensure a secure footing and good traction even on rough terrain. Notably, the rear wheel axle is designed to tilt to enable the front driving wheels to keep stable contact with the ground, and the rear wheels can be locked to help to maintain a straight path with heavy loads. When unlocked, each rear wheel rotates independently at 360º for improved manoeuvrability and to allow for sharp directional changes.

Furthermore, constant speed control automatically applies additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load and the variable speed trigger provides optimum speed control to get around as quickly and safely as possible. The handle can easily be adjusted to the position that is most comfortable and the LED lights illuminate dimly lit areas.

On the new machine, Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita said: “Transporting building materials, logs, soil and rubble bags and heavy equipment is no problem with this new job site workhorse. It can easily carry a load of up to 300kg on terrain of up to a 3º incline, and 180kg on an incline up to 12°, allowing users to maximise time on site and let the new DCU604 Wheelbarrow take the load safely and efficiently. What’s more, it runs on the same LXT battery platform that powers more than 300 Makita products, so professionals can easily switch the batteries between tools for each task.”

Makita’s new products

Makita’s new products: Leading power tool manufacturer Makita UK has expanded its powerful XGT 40VMax range of machines with the launch of the new HS009G 235mm Circular Saw and ML006G Flashlight. HS009G 235mm Circular Saw

The HS009G is a fantastic tool for anyone looking to reap the benefits of cordless, whilst still experiencing the power associated with corded models. Thanks to a large brushless motor and XGT battery technology, this machine can deliver the same – or higher – performance than that of corded alternatives. As such, the HS009G is ideal for higher demand applications.

For precision cutting, the HS009G is compatible with the new 191141-8 guide rail and it can produce bevel cuts up to 1° left and 60° right, with positive stops at 22.5° and 45°. It offers a maximum cutting capacity of up to 61mm and a cutting speed of 4,00rpm, making light work of any cutting task. The HS009G also features an LED job light to keep the work piece clearly visible, regardless of the site conditions.

To improve user safety, the HS009G features Makita’s Auto Start Wireless System (AWS). When fitted with an optional AWS chip, the HS009G can be wirelessly connected to compatible dust extractors via Bluetooth and ensures that when the machine is in use, the extractor automatically turns on.

Makita has also launched a range of accessories for the HS009G, including the 191141-8 guide rail and E-05664 guide rail holder, 196664-7 bevel guide set, 194385-5 clamp set and E-01909 Efficut Saw Blade.

ML006G LED Flashlight

This XGT 40VMax flashlight is the ideal site companion, featuring 18 extra bright LEDs that can deliver up to 500 lumens (depending on the setting chosen). The specially designed light diffusing lens softens the LED light to prevent glare and provide widespread illumination. What’s more, the ML006G offers an impressive 82 hours of continuous illumination (when used in low mode) and the flashlight head can be easily adjusted to ensure the work area is always lit.

For ease, the ML006G features a battery capacity warning system, so users are not unexpectedly left in the dark. It is also compact, lightweight, has an ergonomic design and rubberised soft grip, making it easy and comfortable to hold and transport around site.

DX15 ‘On-Tool’ Dust Collection System (191X40-4)

Compatible with Makita’s XGT 40VMax HR007GZ Rotary Hammer, the DX15 makes dust collection a breeze. It can be used with drill bits up to 260mm and the depth gauge can be effortlessly adjusted. Thanks to the inclusion of a HEPA filter, the DX15 can capture even fine particles for maximum user safety – and the filter can be easily cleaned to ensure longevity.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita said: “Makita’s XGT range has been designed to offer professional users a range of powerful machines that are ideally suited to higher demand applications. We are dedicated to providing the industry with an array of innovative solutions and have spent years refining our battery technology so that our products deliver the high output needed without compromising on battery run time, meaning professionals can work disruption free for longer.”
