Driving Force In Zero-Turn Mowers

Driving Force In Zero-Turn Mowers: For the professional operator, a machine that does the work in half the time of a conventional lawn tractor has to be a major consideration. This potential to increase productivity is one of the driving forces behind the growth in popularity of zero-turn mowers in the UK. The Zenith 60 is the latest zero-turn in the Ariens range. A performance machine, it’s packed with commercial features and built for durability and strength.

Powered by the reliable Kawasaki FX730V 726cc engine, the Zenith has a forward speed of 8.5mph (13.7kph) for fast mowing. Cutting the grass at speed combined with total manoeuvrability gets you through the job faster, without compromising a quality finish. Easy steering levers are all you need to drive, brake, steer and spin on the spot. Negotiating around objects has never been easier. At the end of the mowing row you can effortlessly turn 180º, saving you more time and without going over already cut grass.

The Zenith’s large 152cm (60”) cutting deck makes another contribution to greater productivity. Built with 10-gauge steel its 14cm (5.5”) depth provides optimal airflow in all mowing conditions. The foot-operated deck lift system provides effortless adjustments between 15 cutting positions in 6.35mm (¼”) increments with a vertical pin selection. The Constant Belt Tension System ensures the correct tension, minimising wear and heat while providing enhanced belt life with minimal adjustments. The Zenith features an industry-leading frame design with large tubular frame rails as a backbone to support the machine loads. The frame is fitted with a Rollover Protection System (ROPS) as standard.

To keep the operator comfortable through the day the high backed, ergonomically designed, padded seat not only reduces user fatigue, it also helps to absorb the impact on uneven surfaces. The Zenith 60 comes with a two-year commercial warranty or three-year residential warranty. For more information contact Ariens on 01844 278800 or visit www.ariens-uk.com

Cub Cadet Launch XR Robotic Mowers

Cub Cadet Launch XR Robotic Mowers: Leading lawnmower manufacturer Cub Cadet has launched a ground-breaking new range of robotic mowers, the XR Enduro Series.

Built with innovation and convenience in mind, the new robots – XR1, XR2 and XR3 – mow up to 10 percent faster than similar models on the market due to the patented blade technology and strong mowing system, producing a perfectly trimmed lawn in no time.

Cub Cadet Launch XR Robotic Mowers

The robots have been developed with state-of-the-art technology and features that meet both consumer and professional needs to save the time and effort of mowing.

The XR1 500 features a strong, floating, self-cleaning mowing deck that handles challenging terrain with incredible accuracy and produces clippings fine enough to mulch into the soil. This process acts as a natural fertiliser resulting in a better-looking lawn, improved performance and reduced maintenance.

The XR2 and XR3 robots in the range have the unique ability to trim right up to the edge of the lawn thanks to the patented steel blades which cut beyond the wheelbase. Therefore, there is no need for a lawn edge cutter or strimmer, saving space on storage. Also, the robots will mow areas of up to 5000m².

By utilising state-of-the-art technology, gardeners will have complete control of their robot, any place, any time, using their smartphone or home computer to view reports and change mowing schedules. As well as being Alexa compatible, they have pin code security, and some models come with Bluetooth remote control capability and GPS, which allows the mower to be tracked.

The ever-changing British weather needn’t be a problem either as the integrated rain sensor alerts the robot to return to its home when it starts raining. It can then start cutting again when the weather improves.

Phil Noble, field sales and technical manager for Cub Cadet, said: “We have waited for the right time to join this competitive market to ensure our robotic mowers have all the features that a gardener could want. Customers are now starting to see robotics as a viable option to a traditional walk-behind mower or a lawn tractor, so by creating a range which is smart, innovative, cost-effective and convenient to use, we are showing that a robotic mower is the future of mowing.”

The XR mowers are equipped with Smart Mow which instead of stopping and turning when the robot reaches the perimeter wire, turns in a continuously smooth arc, saving time and ensuring a better-quality cut.

Deciding when to mow isn’t an issue as the robots can be programmed to run at any time of the day, even when the user is away on holiday. The robotic mowers run between 68 and 74 decibels, depending on the model, meaning even during the night gardeners can be assured the lawn will still be cut to a high standard, without disrupting neighbours or wildlife.

For this range, Cub Cadet has also introduced the exclusive Robozone. This innovative feature works either via a battery or mains power and is a signal transmitter, which means that the robotic mower can be used in another garden without having to buy a second charging station – ideal for when a gardener needs to go round to mow the parent’s lawn. It also enables the robot to be used in difficult and hard-to-reach areas where there is no mains power. This cutting-edge product from Cub Cadet means the robot can be utilised for more than one job.

Phil added: “A robotic mower will give you back the time spent mowing the lawn to use doing other things whilst still have a perfectly trimmed lawn. Also, robots mulch the grass exceptionally well, which helps put nutrients back into the lawn, keeping it green and healthy – even in drought conditions like last year, it’s a win-win situation.”

Etesia’s New Professional Pedestrian Mowers

Etesia’s New Professional Pedestrian Mowers: Etesia are adding to their existing range of mowers already available on the market, with the launch of  two new 46cm cutting width professional pedestrian rotary mowers ahead of the 2019 season.

The PHTS3 is a single speed self-propelled mower, while the PHE3 is a push variant.

Etesia's New Professional Pedestrian Mowers

Following the same concept of the PRO46 range of pedestrian mowers first launched in the early 1990’s, both models feature Xenoy cutting decks for increased strength, shear washer crank protection, individual height of cut adjusters, a new 22mm handlebar design, the latest Honda GCV170 engine and are supplied complete with 80 litre grass box and rear deflector as standard.

The Honda GCV Series of engines provide best in class power and torque with easy and reliable starting with reduced noise and vibration levels. Easy service and maintenance with large petrol filler cap allowing operators to view the fuel level while filling, extended oil dip-stick makes filling easier and a host of other features expected from a professional machine.

Extremely versatile, both new models are capable of mowing with or without collection in all conditions, or for high-quality mulching with the addition of a mulching plug kit accessory (PR46E).

Etesia's New Professional Pedestrian Mowers

The design has been proven over many years and has an unbeatable record of quality and performance unrivalled in its class. It provides outstanding collection performance, even if the grass is long and wet – something that Etesia has prided itself on over the past 30 years.

One main feature of these models is the ‘one cut’ principle. This means the grass is only cut once before being sent to the grass box. The benefits of this are reduced power consumption from fast deck material ejection and secondly, as it is not multi chopped, the grass does not stick to the cutting deck in the same way as multi-cut grass does preventing unwanted blockages. The grass box is manufactured out of the same Xenoy compound as the cutting deck for maximum strength and comes complete with fill indicator.

Both new models are sold with a comprehensive Etesia two year professional warranty.

“We have gone back to basics with these two new models and to what people expect from an Etesia mower – robustness, reliability and able to cut, collect or mulch in any weather condition,” commented Etesia UK Managing Director Les Malin. “They both have the Xenoy cutting decks which have proved so popular with contractors, landscapers and local authorities and we are very hopeful that customers will see the benefits of reduced maintenance costs and extra reliability. Dealers are already taking orders for these new models, so we are expecting a very busy start to 2019.”

Major Upgrades For Swift Roller Mowers

Major Upgrades For Swift Roller Mowers: Already renowned for their low maintenance and durable machinery, Major Equipment has announced a series of upgrades to their tractor mounted Swift Roller Mowers. These mowers are available in working widths from 1.9m to 5.4m.

Built light to allow them to be used on smaller compact tractors, there is no compromise on strength with the use of Strenx™ 700 MC high-yield steel, which is stronger than steel traditionally used in machinery.

Now the mower bodies are galvanised using zinc hot-dip galvanisation for added protection from harsh exterior conditions. Hot-dip coating of the metal doubles the life span compared with painting and, Major say, it will protect steel from corrosion in most atmospheric conditions for 25 to 30 years.

It’s no wonder then that Major has also introduced a three-year professional warranty for all models in their Swift Roller Mower range but they haven’t stopped there. The roller mowers’ custom designed gearbox has been upgraded for improved and consistent mowing, even in the toughest conditions. High speed blade tips on the Major roller mowers offer higher output with an enviably professional cylinder mower finish every time you cut.
