Tubex Tree Shelters Now Made with Minimum 50% Recycled Content

Tubex Tree Shelters Now Made with Minimum 50% Recycled Content: Tubex, A Magnera Brand, has announced that all its market-leading recyclable tree shelters are now being produced using a minimum of 50% recycled content, a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing drive to improve sustainability in tree protection.

Available for the 2025/26 planting season, Tubex’s standard shelters of all heights, including its Shrubshelter and Easywrap range, will all contain a minimum of 50% recycled material, with an increasing proportion of that recycled content coming directly from used shelters recycled through Tubex’s Collection & Recycling Programme.

This latest improvement forms part of the manufacturer’s wider goal of improving the sustainability proposition for tree shelters as Dean Latten, Tubex’s Plant Director, explains:
“It was always our goal to maximise the amount of recycled content in our shelters, but we needed to ensure that we could manufacture consistently at that increased level. Thanks to a brilliant effort from our team in Aberdare, we are now able to do this.

“This is the same leading recyclable shelter range that thousands of landowners and foresters trust, just made with more recycled material. We’re always looking for ways to improve what we offer, and this is another step in the right direction for us.”

Tubex recycled shelters have the lowest carbon footprint in our range and are 100% recyclable at end of life. This closed-loop system enables contractors and landowners to minimise waste, meet regulatory requirements and reduce the long-term impact of their planting projects.

Toro’s out-front electric rotary now all-wheel drive

Toro’s out-front electric rotary now all-wheel drive: Predicted by Toro to bring operational savings on fuel, fluid, parts, routine maintenance, and labour to promote a positive return on investment, the all-new lithium-ion battery-powered Groundsmaster e3300 out-front rotary from Reesink Turfcare is now available with all-wheel drive.

The out-front rotary mower is considered by most groundscare professionals as an essential frontline machine and Toro, in its constant quest for providing ultra-productive and sustainable solutions for its customers, has developed an all-wheel drive electric version with the proven performance of the brand’s popular all-wheel drive diesel model.

At its core, there’s everything that makes the traditional Groundsmaster an industry favourite – the same rugged chassis, commercial-grade mowing deck and operator comfort, but now with CrossTrax all-wheel drive optimising traction and the option of a 60- or 72-inch side or rear discharge deck built from high-strength steel.

Under the hood there’s 11 powerful HyperCell batteries for all-day runtime and the option of adding another six batteries for the most challenging environments, tough terrain, and demanding schedules.

Operation is now emission-free for a cleaner environment and it’s quieter. Reduced noise levels open up the options for when and where mowing can take place: earlier in the morning, later in the day, in sound sensitive areas like schools, university campuses and public parks – making time management that much easier and productivity levels that much higher.

When it’s time to head back to the charging station, a battery reserve setting ensures there’s enough power to get there and the onboard InfoCentre gives real-time visibility into battery status, settings, and alerts — keeping range anxiety at bay and everything running smoothly.

Jon Cole, Business Development Manager – Reesink Turfcare, says: “There’s no difference in the machine’s ability to get the job done with the change in the power supply – it’s more that with the CrossTrax all-wheel drive, operators are going to see a huge leap in productivity. Customers can still expect to mow up to nine acres an hour and it still provides a solid solution to many of the issues groundscare professionals face today: reduced mowing cycles, limited budgets and the requirement for year-round productivity.”

Customers can contact Reesink to arrange a demo at their site at a convenient time simply by contenting their local dealer or Reesink on 01480 226800 or visit reesinkturfcare.co.uk.

A Smarter, Simpler Way to Work

At the heart of the Wireless Valve Link is LoRa® technology, a licence-free communication system that’s both robust and reliable. It enables connection to up to 54 individual stations plus a master valve, with a line-of-sight range of up to 650 metres—or even further when used with a repeater.

By removing the need for copper wiring, the system not only slashes installation time and expense but also avoids common wired-system issues such as wire degradation and lightning damage.

Key Benefits at a Glance:

Wireless Valve Control: Eliminates the need for copper field wiring, enabling installations across difficult terrains and hard surfaces.

Efficient Setup: Avoid cutting into concrete or boring under paths—ideal for retrofit projects or sensitive landscapes.

Advanced Compatibility: Integrates seamlessly with Hunter’s Centralus™ and Hydrawise™ platforms, and works alongside ICM or EZDS modules for a fully tailored system.

Flexible Expansion: Add new zones or areas without returning to the controller or disturbing existing infrastructure.

Installation, Without the Headache

Whether working on residential gardens or large-scale commercial sites, the Wireless Valve Link enables contractors to work smarter. With no hardwiring required, installation becomes more straightforward and less disruptive—especially in areas with existing hardscapes, roads, or tree roots.

This new solution allows for cleaner, more scalable system design, making it ideal for projects where adaptability, speed, and reliability are critical.

Now available from KAR UK, the Hunter Wireless Valve Link brings the future of irrigation control to the present—streamlining installations, enhancing reliability, and giving professionals more flexibility than ever before.

Fiata Stressgard® now available in 10L packs

Fiata Stressgard® now available in 10L packs: Fiata Stressgard®, from Envu and distributed by Origin Amenity Solutions, is now available in convenient 10L packs. This allows for more flexible application rates of 15 or 20L/ha, making it easier for turf managers to incorporate into their agronomic programmes.

A recent independent trial by the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI) confirmed Fiata Stressgard’s ability to improve turf resilience, colour, and quality, even during a six-week drought. The study also showed that Fiata Stressgard® enhances photosynthesis, outperforming both untreated plots and those treated with pigment alone.

Additionally, the research found that combining Fiata Stressgard® with the growth regulator trinexapac-ethyl reduces potential quality issues often associated with trinexapac-ethyl alone. This combination further boosted chlorophyll levels in both drought-stressed and healthy turf, supporting plant health under various conditions.

Notably, the trial demonstrated that during drought conditions, Fiata Stressgard® was a better option than continuing with turf wetting agent programme alone. While turf wetting agents are essential before and after drought, using Fiata Stressgard® before and during dry periods helped maintain turf quality and improved recovery afterward.

Since its UK launch, Fiata Stressgard® has received excellent feedback from turf managers, who report improved turf quality, enhanced colour, and greater stress resilience. Phil Logan, UK Turf Manager at Envu, commented: The new STRI trial results reaffirm the multiple benefits of Fiata Stressgard. Not only does it improve plant health and drought tolerance, but it also complements trinexapac-ethyl applications, making it an excellent addition to any turf management programme.”

Mark De Ath, PPP Team Lead at Origin Amenity Solutions, added, “The research highlights Fiata Stressgard’s role in modern turf management. Its ability to support plant health, particularly in drought conditions, provides a practical and reliable solution for maintaining high-quality playing surfaces.”

Looking ahead, the full launch of Fiata Stressgard® in 2025 will include a webinar, regional seminars, and dedicated support from Origin Amenity Solutions to help turf managers maximise its benefits.
