RLGC has chosen a Dyna-Seeder, Dyna-Corer, and Micro-Groomer from GreenTek’s extensive product range.

The revolutionary Dyna-Seeder allows the whole seeding operation on 18 greens to be completed in hours at any time of the season.

The Dyna-Corer’s rapid action enables you to micro-core a green in minutes – minimising disruption to play.

With the Micro-Groomer, laser-engineered blades with over 2,000 extra fine tungsten tips work in the upper leaf area. Spaced at just 6.55mm apart, they deliver approximately 39,000 surgically precise micro-cuts per square metre. Set by-feel micro-adjusters offer precision control to accurately adjust cutting height by 0.25mm.

Ian Ellis, GreenTek managing director, says: “We’re extremely proud to have been chosen by Royal Liverpool Golf Club in this way. It’s a very important year for the club hosting the Open Championship and the fact that they’ve come to us in preparation for this prestigious and high-profile event is a clear endorsement of the quality of our machinery and the trust they can place in us to deliver.”

James Bledge, course manager at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, adds: “I’ve used GreenTek products over the years and have always been extremely impressed with the results. When looking for a supplier who could help create perfect greens in the run up to such an important and prestigious event as the Open Championship, GreenTek was an obvious choice.”

GreenTek is recognised throughout the UK and around the world for high-quality, innovative turfcare equipment. Still driven by the same family passion that started the horticultural engineering business in 1969, GreenTek continues to innovate and provide solutions that are now established as essential tools by the best in the game.

The API will have a dedicated stand at GroundsFest to promote membership services and many of its members will be exhibiting. GroundsFest’s free educational seminar programme will also feature API-badged sessions.

As a result, GroundsFest will offer a one-stop shop for those involved in the selection, purchase, upkeep and replacement of play equipment and safer surfaces.

API Chair Mark Hardy, said: “We are looking forward to seeing how this new event will promote the play industry and in particular, provide an opportunity for API members to showcase their offerings.

“All API members abide by a strict professional Code of Conduct and are committed to value-for-money and long-term service and support. This exhibition will enable members to exhibit their products and demonstrate the high-quality, innovative and fun ranges so typical of our members.

“GroundsFest has the potential to widen the buying audience for our members and to introduce visitors to the many benefits of choosing an API member for their play project.”

Commenting on the partnership, GroundsFest’s Sales Director Charles Neale, said: “We are very excited and enthusiastic about the partnership between GroundsFest and the API. The play industry will form an integral part of the GroundsFest event profile in September 2023 and will give the play industry an ideal platform to promote its services and products to a highly relevant national audience of buyers and specifiers.

“GroundsFest really is uniting every corner of the groundscare industry,” continued Charles. “The GroundsFest team is working hard on all aspects of the industry – from turfcare to commercial vehicles – by providing added impetus and innovation as we go forward.”

Child safety on farms a major priority

Child safety on farms a major priority: A FREE course, launched by Lantra to help protect the safety of children on farms, has received an encouraging response from Learners.

Since the October school holidays, Lantra has already received more than 70 enrolments on its Child Safety on Farms Course and, of those, around a third have already passed the certificate.

The course covers a wide range of areas including children on the farm and the law, children and tractors, children and ATVs and children and falls.

It also covers child safety around equipment, and harmful substances, and the importance of having a farm safety checklist.

On completion of the free course, participants can download their Lantra Child Safety on Farms Course certificate.

Paula Smyth, Director of Lantra Ireland, said: “Part of the Farm Safety Partnership (FSP) Action Plan Targets involves promoting child safety on farms.

“Lantra, who are an FSP farm safety affiliate, has developed this bespoke training course specifically for people with children who live or work on farms.

“This is a unique and hugely important course which will contribute towards the FSP Action Plan targets which we are proud to support.

“The uptake of this course is very encouraging as it is a tragic fact that there are various dangers on farms that sadly claim lives and cause injuries each year.

“Farming is a wonderful but also hazardous occupation – and it is the only high-risk industry that deals with the presence of children.

“Their health, and indeed everyone’s health, should be of paramount importance and concern and through courses and initiatives, like our free Child Safety on Farms Course, we hope people can better recognise and avoid potential dangers on farmland.”
