With a huge influx of players over the past three years, matched by the inexorable rise of social media, what are existing customers saying about golf, what do new participants think and how can clubs and courses engage prospective players?

The panel discuss key insights from the report, including golf’s negative reputation generated on Twitter by controversial figures and topics such as Donald Trump and LIV Golf, comparing it with the positive sentiment and interactivity around the sharing of golf experiences on Instagram.

Mark Birchmore, Head of Global Marketing for Syngenta Turf and Landscape, said: “Our latest golf market study, ‘Golf & Social Media: The Great Divide’, has just been published in conjunction with Ipsos and the expert analysis and commentary from Ipsos’ Social Intelligence team makes for insightful listening.

“This report is a first for the golf industry and to have access to Ipsos’ AI-enabled tools to analyze millions of posts about golf gives us valuable new insights and learnings on the golf market, helping the industry understand diverse customers’ perceptions and motivations.

“The first episode of our podcast series is designed to complement the report and we hope clubs and courses, as well as the wider golf industry, find it relevant and useful in strategic decision making.”

Series three is set to continue exploring everything plant-based the planet has to offer, being bigger and better than ever before! As part of this a new sponsor has been announced. Natural Grower, a manufacturer of plant based, chemical free fertilisers, is the proud partner for series three – with a commitment to inspiring growers to adopt an organic and sustainable approach it is the perfect partner.

The show hosts Michael Perry and Ellen Mary are prolific gardening writers, bloggers and presenters with a strong social media following that has helped catapult the podcast to the heights of the podcast charts. Their light-hearted and entertaining podcasting style has been a big hit with listeners of all ages with interests beyond gardening. The show is far from the usual gardening programme with the typical how-to gardening tips, instead it celebrates places and people worldwide with a true passion for plants.

In series three, Michael and Ellen will meet famous faces who champion plants, horticulture and plant-based living. Some of the brilliant guests booked for series three include Mark Lane, award winning garden designer and one of the presenters of BBC Gardeners’ World; creator of the world famous plant-based skincare range, Liz Earle; naturalist, television presenter and author, Chris Packham; and Alex Petrides, the founder of All Plants, the first entirely plant-based meal delivery service.

Ellen Mary commented: “Both Michael and I are overwhelmed by the success of the podcast, we had no idea what it would turn out to be or how popular it would become. It’s amazing that its success means that now we can attract big names like Chris Packham and Liz Earle to help continue to spread the word about just how amazing plants are. We’re thrilled to be working with Natural Grower, their company ethos is amazing, and we love the products. Their support has allowed us to elevate the podcast to the next level”.

New Plant Based Podcast Launched

New Plant Based Podcast Launched: A new podcast has been launched to celebrate a love of all things plants.

The Plant Based Podcast, sponsored by Suttons Seeds, previewed on Sunday 3rd February and within less than 24 hours of being available on iTunes had rocketed to the top of the games and hobbies charts, beating all others to the number one spot in the UK. Since then, three new episodes have been launched with a new episode going live fortnightly on Sundays.

New Plant Based Podcast Launched

The podcast is a project launched by two prolific gardening writers, bloggers and presenters – Michael Perry, aka Mr Plant Geek, and Ellen Mary. Ellen and Michael have been plant lovers since childhood, and have a combined 35 years worth of experience in the industry as well as a strong, engaged social media following.

It comes at a time when plant based alternatives are increasingly in the spotlight, with names like M&S, Sainsburys and Greggs all recently launching vegan ranges. However, The Plant Based Podcast goes beyond veganism and investigates the wider benefits and uses of plants, as well as the people embracing them in their day to day lives.

In each episode, Michael and Ellen meet someone with a true passion for plants – from a bodybuilder whose muscles are now entirely plant based purely from converting to veganism, to an expert at the Chelsea Physic Garden who discusses home remedies using plants, as well as the owners of a restaurant tipped to be the first vegan eatery to receive a Michelin star. Other episodes explore the importance of bees and how the right plants can make a vast difference; how the urban jungle trend can change our gardens; and how the world of edible plants can tantalise taste buds.
