The latest XGT 40VMax products: Leading power tools manufacturer Makita UK has expanded its XGT 40VMax range of machines with the launch of the DK0014G 2-Piece Combo Kit, DK0172G XGT 2-Piece Combo Kit, KT001G Kettle, KP001G Planer, HS011G Circular Saw and VC005GL, VC002GL and VC004GL Dust Extractors.

A must have for any tradesperson, the DK0014G and DK0172G combo kits both feature two of Makita’s most popular professional cordless power tools in a convenient storage solution. The DK0014G includes the TD001GZ XGT 40VMax Impact Driver and HP001GZ XGT 40VMax Combi Drill. The DK0172G includes the TD001GZ XGT 40VMax Impact Driver and HP002GZ XGT 40VMax Combi Drill.

Both kits also include two 2.5Ah XGT batteries and the DC40RA Fast Charger, and everything is helpfully packed into a type 3 Makpac case for easy storage and transportation. The kits also come with the 191C10-7 ADP10 charger adaptor, so tradespeople can use the DC40RA to charge their existing LXT batteries, making it even easier to switch between tools and tasks.

With the TD001GZ close at hand tradespeople can easily remove or drive screws into harder materials – and the HP001GZ and HP002GZ make screwdriving and drilling applications a breeze.

KP001G XGT 40VMax Planer

The incredibly powerful KP001G is perfect for smooth, rough and thin planing. It has a planing width of 82mm and an impressive cutting depth of 4mm, and can deliver a no-load speed of 15,000rpm for maximum efficiency and rapid cutting. With left and right chip ejection, the brushless KP001G also features a foot on the base plate to raise the base of the machine off the bench or material when not in operation, which protects the workpiece from scratches and damage.

To ensure user safety, this machine has an electric break that works to quickly stop the blade once the tool is powered down. It also includes Makita’s soft start technology – and an anti-restart function to prevent accidental start up. Thanks to the inclusion of Makita’s Auto-start Wireless System (AWS), the KP001G can also be wirelessly connected to a compatible dust extractor via Bluetooth, enabling the dust extractor to automatically start when the tool’s trigger is engaged.

HS011G XGT 40VMax (270mm) Circular Saw

Compatible with a guide rail, this powerful circular saw is designed for precision rip cutting and delivers output that is equivalent to corded alternatives. It has a no-load speed of 3,500rpm, it bevel cuts up to 1° (left) and 60° (right) and has a maximum cutting capacity of 101mm at 0°, 71mm at 45° and 51mm at 60°.

The HS011G features constant speed control that works to maintain the blade speed and ensure optimum cutting performance. To ensure user safety, this machine includes AWS technology for efficient dust extraction and includes an electric brake to quickly slow down the wheel rotation.

VC005GL, VC002GL and VC004GL XGT 40VMax Dust Extractors

The VC005GL, VC002GL and VC004GL Dust Extractors have been developed to offer tradespeople a powerful solution for quickly and effortlessly cleaning up at the end of the workday. All machines deliver a maximum sealed suction of 23kPa and have large tank capacities (VC005GL – 8L, VC002GL – 8L and VC004GL 15L) to prevent regular work breaks to empty the tank. The VC002GL and VC004GL also include an automatic self-cleaning filter to prevent blockages and ensure optimum efficiency.

The VC005GL can be used for dry vacuuming and the VC002GL and VC004GL are both suitable for vacuuming finer, airborne particles.

KT001G XGT 40VMax Kettle

The KT001G Kettle is the perfect jobsite companion. It can be powered by Makita’s XGT 40VMax batteries or the PDC1200 portable power pack to boil water wherever you are on site. It is equipped with an anti-spill lock button to prevent accidental spills and it stops boiling automatically when the kettle or power supply stand is lifted to ensure safety. It has also been designed to provide high heat retention, while keeping the kettle surface cool.

Thanks to the carry handle on the power supply stand, the KT001G is easy to transport around site.

ICL products key to new pitch construction: A range of ICL products have helped Lincoln City FC’s new Fibresand pitch get off to the best possible start.

At the start of the 2021/22 season, Lincoln City had its pitch at the LNER stadium completely rebuilt. The huge project included a new gravel carpet, drainage system, multiple sand layers and the amelioration of Fibresand for added stability.

To do the new construction justice it was vital that the pitch received the correct products, and it was at this point that Head Groundsman Craig Housley liaised with Craig Lalley, Technical Area Sales Manager for ICL.

“A new Fibresand construction can take a bit of time to settle,” said Craig Lalley. “Therefore, when putting the programme together with Craig, we wanted to really concentrate on achieving good rooting to aid playability and recovery.”

Within a six-week window before the start of the season, Craig focused on three products in the form of Sierrablen Plus with Pearl Turf Starter, H2Pro TriSmart wetting agent, and Vitalnova Links biostimulant.

The first product applied was Sierrablen Plus with Pearl Turf Starter and was incorporated into the growing medium. “The organic acids that are produced by the rooting utilises the phosphorus and the magnesium from the Pearl technology which really aids early establishment and good strong rooting,” said Craig Lalley.

Through independent trials, data has revealed significantly increased rooting when Sierrablen Plus with Pearl is used as part of a seedbed preparation and during turf-laying. Furthermore, there was a 2.5 x increase in rooting when compared to another existing high-performing product.

To complement the grass seed and the Sierrablen Plus with Pearl Turf Starter, Craig then turned to TriSmart wetting agent. Containing three water management technologies consisting of surfactant and polymer blends, TriSmart is renowned for providing great water penetration, an even water spread through the rootzone and can improve the water holding capacity of sandy rootzones.

Craig Housley said: “Moisture management was key when the seeding first took place to aid moisture around the leaf which can help with seed germination. We needed that seed to be established as fast as possible.”

Craig confirmed that the two products had an instant impact: “I had never heard of the Pearl technology, but Craig Lalley told me that it would be ideal for a new construction and that it would really help with the germination of new seed. We decided to give it a go and I have never known grass to come through so quickly, uniformed, and strong – the sward health was exceptional.”

Four weeks after seeding, Sierrablen Plus with Turf Starter and H2Pro TriSmart were applied, Craig recommended ICL’s Vitalnova Links biostimulant which is a new unique formulation consisting of the popular Vitalnova Blade and Vitalnova SMX.

Vitalnova Links was tank mixed with TriSmart, and Craig Lalley explained why this was applied monthly: “It is a great soil drench spray. Vitalnova Links aids microbial stimulation, reduces biotic stresses and further develops the rooting; while TriSmart continues to manage the moisture and ensures that the pitch doesn’t dry out in warmer temperatures.

“Ultimately, we had quite a small window to utilise these products and ensure that the pitch was at an excellent standard in time for the start of the season. I believe we successfully achieved that.”

Craig Housley, who is continuing to adhere to an ICL integrated turf management programme, believes that the products have massively benefited the newly constructed pitch.

“Everyone knows that it takes a while for a new Fibresand pitch to really grip itself together, but I have been really surprised at just how good the pitch has been in its first year,” he said.

“We’ve also managed to maintain excellent grass coverage. In terms of playability, the pitch has benefitted the players and the style of football the manager wants to play. He has fast players that turn very quickly and to have the pitch underneath them with that kind of stability has really made a difference.”

Makita’s new products: Leading power tool manufacturer Makita UK has expanded its powerful XGT 40VMax range of machines with the launch of the new HS009G 235mm Circular Saw and ML006G Flashlight. It has also released the DX15 ‘on-tool’ Dust Collection System (191X40-4) that is compatible with its HR007GZ XGT Rotary Hammer.

The HS009G is a fantastic tool for anyone looking to reap the benefits of cordless, whilst still experiencing the power associated with corded models. Thanks to a large brushless motor and XGT battery technology, this machine can deliver the same – or higher – performance than that of corded alternatives. As such, the HS009G is ideal for higher demand applications.

For precision cutting, the HS009G is compatible with the new 191141-8 guide rail and it can produce bevel cuts up to 1° left and 60° right, with positive stops at 22.5° and 45°. It offers a maximum cutting capacity of up to 61mm and a cutting speed of 4,00rpm, making light work of any cutting task. The HS009G also features an LED job light to keep the work piece clearly visible, regardless of the site conditions.

To improve user safety, the HS009G features Makita’s Auto Start Wireless System (AWS). When fitted with an optional AWS chip, the HS009G can be wirelessly connected to compatible dust extractors via Bluetooth and ensures that when the machine is in use, the extractor automatically turns on.

Makita has also launched a range of accessories for the HS009G, including the 191141-8 guide rail and E-05664 guide rail holder, 196664-7 bevel guide set, 194385-5 clamp set and E-01909 Efficut Saw Blade.

ML006G LED Flashlight

This XGT 40VMax flashlight is the ideal site companion, featuring 18 extra bright LEDs that can deliver up to 500 lumens (depending on the setting chosen). The specially designed light diffusing lens softens the LED light to prevent glare and provide widespread illumination. What’s more, the ML006G offers an impressive 82 hours of continuous illumination (when used in low mode) and the flashlight head can be easily adjusted to ensure the work area is always lit.

For ease, the ML006G features a battery capacity warning system, so users are not unexpectedly left in the dark. It is also compact, lightweight, has an ergonomic design and rubberised soft grip, making it easy and comfortable to hold and transport around site.

DX15 ‘On-Tool’ Dust Collection System (191X40-4)

Compatible with Makita’s XGT 40VMax HR007GZ Rotary Hammer, the DX15 makes dust collection a breeze. It can be used with drill bits up to 260mm and the depth gauge can be effortlessly adjusted. Thanks to the inclusion of a HEPA filter, the DX15 can capture even fine particles for maximum user safety – and the filter can be easily cleaned to ensure longevity.

New products from Makita: Leading power tool manufacturer, Makita UK has announced its new October collection, adding further cordless machines to its expanding LXT battery platform. A new 18V garden sprayer, impact wrench and inflator join the line-up of over 275 solutions within the LXT range.

DUS054Z GARDEN SPRAYER

Removing the effort required to pump, this lightweight 18V 5-litre sprayer delivers up to 0.45L/min, allowing for efficient spraying with comfortable paddle control. The telescopic spray wand with a rotatable H-shaped dual head design allows the user to quickly switch between mist and jet spraying modes depending on the task.

Delivering up to 8hrs runtime on a 6.0Ah battery, the clever Auto-Stop feature helps to minimise any unnecessary drain on the battery by shutting down the power when the handle isn’t engaged.

The machine has been designed with user comfort in mind and includes a shoulder harness and an ergonomically optimised tank body that sits comfortably at the user’s hip. Furthermore, the handle features a lock-on function to hold the trigger in place – ideal for larger jobs where continuous spraying is required.

DTW302Z IMPACT WRENCH

The new 18V LXT DTW302 Brushless Impact Wrench features a fresh design on its previous counterparts. Compact, with an overall length of 138mm and 3/8-inch square driving shank, the DTW302 brushless motor provides high power with a fastening torque of up to 300Nm and maximum nut busting torque of 500Nm.

Featuring a variable speed trigger, the DTW302Z provides the user with more control, with 4-stage impact selection, enabling the user to set the appropriate torque for the application at hand. For greater control and convenience, the tool also features Forward / Reverse function, with 6 modes for customised applications.

DMP181Z INFLATOR

For quick and easy inflation of automotive and machinery tyres, sporting equipment and more, the new 18V DMP181Z Inflator is powered by Makita’s LXT battery technology to deliver up to 161psi and a rapid air discharge volume of 22L/min.

The tool features a digital pressure gauge, a LED light for convenient use at night and an Auto-Stop function which automatically shuts down the tool when the desired pressure is reached. The DMP181Z also offers manual decompression functionality, allowing air to be released in case of over inflation.

Avant UK – Leguan 135 NEO

The Leguan 135 NEO represents a new generation of spider lifts, combining easy-to-use interface, heavy lifting capacity, and efficiency-enhancing technology. The state-of-the-art joystick control allows simultaneous use of multiple boom movements with just one hand. Setting-up or finishing the operation is efficient with the help of the smart automatic levelling function and the home function that brings booms automatically back to transport position.

Avant UK – e6 Loader

The Avant e6 is the first compact loader with a lithium-ion battery. The e6 can be fully charged in just over an hour and you can operate between two to four hours with a full battery. The short charge time will practically allow you to work a full workday with because you can charge the battery during your lunch break to full again.

Dennis – ES-860

This 34″ battery powered turf management system delivers maximum versatility and the range of 13 interchangeable cassettes provide a solution to many day-to-day maintenance tasks such as cutting, scarifying and brushing. The power of the battery system ensures the machine is capable of cutting at least 2 pitches on a single charge or verticutting a full pitch without anxiety.

Dennis – ES-510

The ES-510 is more than capable of cutting 4-5 bowling greens or approx. 10km on just one single charge. Furthermore, it features a rapid 2-3 hour recharge. As with every model in the Dennis E-Series, the ES-510 has a robust LCD keypad screen which provides the operator with a multitude of information options including speed, clip rate, service checks, lifetime running reports and battery information.

Campey Turf Care Systems – AllTrec Tool Carrier

Mowing, brushing, thermal weed control, leaf blowing, and hedge trimming can be done CO2 emissions-free with the AllTrec Tool Carrier. The 100% electric machine can work all year round on regular maintenance and uses a universal hooking system that enables operators to easily carry out different activities in one day.

Overton UK – Mean Green Rival Mower

Allett Mowers – to be unveiled at the show
