Redexim Verti-Top® sets the synthetic standard

Redexim Verti-Top® sets the synthetic standard: A rise in demand for synthetic surface cleaning from schools and sports clubs has triggered the purchase of a Redexim Verti-Top® for contractors Cutting Edge GM.

The adaptability of this award-winning artificial cleaning system has facilitated the diversification of the services offered by the grounds maintenance outfit – with its ability to effectively decompact and clean a range of infill materials to leave a professional, play-ready finish.

The team of eight that make up Cutting Edge pride themselves on being passionate about sports surfaces, providing a range of services to keep natural and artificial turf surfaces around Teesside, North Yorkshire & County Durham in first-rate condition. To cope with an increasing number of enquiries for synthetic pitch cleaning, Director Josh Blackburn decided the time was right to invest in a new solution and quickly decided the Redexim Verti-Top® was the right machine for them. “Not only is the Verti-Top® quicker than our previous cleaner, the build quality is fantastic and the quality of finish is brilliant. This machine sets the standard for this process without a shadow of a doubt.”

Suited to most types of synthetic turf, the Verti-Top® effectively lifts and collects debris, while the oscillating sieve and vacuum system tackle even the tiniest of particles. The cleaned infill is then returned, leaving a safe, contamination and compaction-free surface, that looks good and plays well. Josh opted for the Verti-Top® 1200, with 1.2m working width, delivered in spring 2024 by local dealer Rickerby.

“The purchase and installation process was fantastic! Tom Alexander from Rickerby together with Redexim’s Allen Whellans, conducted full training with the team and demonstrated the various ways to set the unit up to get the very best results. There’s so much flexibility with this machine, including a range of sieve options, which means we can work with all types of infill material, including the newer, organic and natural infill types.”

He continues, “As soon as the cold and frosty conditions pass, we will be out with the Verti-Top® getting surfaces cleaned up and safe for the start of the new playing season. We had outstanding feedback from customers on the process last year and look forward to being able to grow this side of our business further with such a capable and versatile machine at our disposal.”

Redexim return to BTME

Redexim return to BTME: Efficiency is the buzzword at BTME 2025 for Redexim, who return with a range of equipment for fast and effective aeration, seeding and spring renovation on stand 532.

With ever-higher course condition expectations from players leading to increasingly stretched greenkeepers, Redexim aim to showcase the versatile, quality-built solutions for achieving top-quality fine turf surfaces.

It wouldn’t be a Redexim show stand without the Verti-Drain® taking centre stage. BTME 2025 will be no different with the industry’s flagship high-speed aerator, the Verti-Drain® 2519, making a popular return. The Verti-Drain® 2519 encompasses the best in Redexim precision engineering, featuring an easy to adjust heave lever and slip clutch PTO drive – offering an impressive PTO speed of up to 540rpm which allows it to cover up to 8739sq.m per hour. Its unbeatable productivity is matched by outstanding durability and a full range of tine options to suit tasks around the maintenance calendar.

Another stand highlight promises to be the Redexim Carrier, a multi-tool tractor which will be equipped with the 1513 Verti-Drain® for aeration with minimal ground pressure. A popular choice for greens and other areas where excess weight is to be avoided, the Carrier can also act as a power unit for a range of other implements that utilise a 3-point linkage and PTO.

Full flexibility is also offered by the Redexim Overseeder range, whether your preference is low-disruption seeding on greens and tees or the dependability of precision disc-seeding on the fairways. The Redexim Overseeder 3D is available with either a 1.2m or 1.5m working width to suit all applications and conditions – with a dedicated lightweight version (LV) ideally suited to sensitive turf areas and/or tractors with a lower lifting capacity. Whichever size disc seeder you opt for, you can be assured of a precise seed delivery system and optimal conditions for germination, saving you time and money.

Many will be looking to combine aeration and overseeding work come the spring, as thoughts turn to new season renovations. Complimentary operations such as scarifying and topdressing can also be catered for by the Redexim portfolio, with the team on hand and happy to discuss full details of the options available in Harrogate, over the course of the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of January.

Redexim Revolutionise Hybrid Renovations

Redexim Revolutionise Hybrid Renovations: Redexim are pleased to announce the launch of the Scarivator – a new tool, ideal for contractors, that promises to revolutionise the maintenance of hybrid sports pitches.

Recognising the increasing popularity of hybrid systems, the Scarivator has been specifically developed to remove unwanted rootzone material, loosen soil and ensure a smooth, level surface without damaging the synthetic fibres.

Hybrid surfaces naturally become compacted over time, which necessitates effective renovation to maintain performance and longevity. This process now begins with the Scarivator, designed to loosen the uppermost layer of the surface.

Embodying the very best of quality, reliability and Redexim engineering, the Scarivator features two horizontal beams equipped with angled spring tines to work into the surface at adjustable depths of up to 35mm (1.38”). The beams reciprocate each other to agitate and loosen the organic material and soil without the risk of synthetic fibres wrapping around the rotor. The result is an unparalleled renovation solution that ensures costly replacement and repairs can be avoided, and the lifespan of the system is extended.

The Scarivator comes with a 2.13m working width, infinitely adjustable working depth and adjustable tine angle for varying degrees of aggressiveness. Its streamlined specification is the result of many years of rigorous testing in collaboration with hybrid carpet manufacturers and contractors, especially those in the UK, which now sees the Scarivator as the ultimate maintenance choice not just for hybrid surfaces, but natural turf and the decompaction of heavily worn artificial carpets.

In the field, the Scarivator has proven to be a perfect partner to the Redexim Turf Stripper, loosening the upper profile and allowing the Turf Stripper to extract more of the rootzone from deeper down in a single pass. It is also an effective solution for regular in-season raking, etching away at compaction and pan layers and creating a tilth to optimise the results of natural and hybrid renovations.

Visitors to GroundsFest will be among the first to see the Scarivator as it makes its global show debut on the Redexim stand, OSA230, this September. For more information, please contact your local Redexim Regional Partner or visit www.redexim.com
