Replay Strengthens Strategy with Origin Partnership

Replay Strengthens Strategy with Origin Partnership: Replay Maintenance is stepping up its game in the natural turf sector with a new three-year supply agreement with Origin Amenity Solutions (OAS), reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-performance sports surfaces across an expanding portfolio of sites.

The agreement is a key part of Replay’s wider strategy to grow its Natural Turf Division.

Following a structured selection process, the partnership provides both stability and flexibility, giving Replay the confidence to plan for growth while maintaining consistent standards on every pitch. In its first year, the company expects to service over 100 natural turf surfaces, with ambitious expansion anticipated in the years ahead.

Under the deal, Replay secures a reliable supply of core OAS products, including perennial ryegrass seed mixtures, controlled-release fertilisers, herbicides, and specialist inputs designed specifically for professional sports turf. But the agreement goes beyond the basics.

Embedded technical and agronomic support means Replay teams have access to soil analysis, laboratory testing, application planning tools, seasonal guidance, and ongoing technical advice, ensuring every decision is backed by data and best-practice insight.

Commenting on the partnership, Phil Dewhurst, Regional Sales Director at Origin Amenity Solutions, said:

“Origin Amenity Solutions are proud to have won the contract with Replay Maintenance and are delighted to be working closely with the team. Together we will build a strong partnership to supply and deliver our trusted products to improve the quality and performance on newly renovated natural turf surfaces.”

Service and performance are central to the partnership. The framework incorporates clear delivery commitments, regular performance monitoring, and annual commercial reviews, helping Replay maintain quality, reliability, and operational accountability as the division grows.

The collaboration also opens opportunities for wider industry engagement. Demonstration days, technical seminars, and joint marketing initiatives are all part of the plan, giving Replay the chance to share expertise, showcase innovation, and strengthen its presence in the natural turf sector.

Matt Bartle, Group Head of Commercial Strategy at Replay Maintenance, believes the partnership will play an important role in supporting the company’s ambitions in the natural turf market.

“This partnership with Origin Amenity Solutions marks an important step forward for Replay. At our core, we’re committed to raising standards across all sports pitches, be it synthetic or natural. The opportunity to work alongside a trusted, forward-thinking supplier like Origin strengthens our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for our clients.

By combining our national delivery capability and technical expertise with Origin’s innovative amenity solutions and product support, we can offer a more integrated approach to pitch performance, sustainability, and long-term asset care. Ultimately, this collaboration is about adding value for clubs, schools, and facility operators thereby ensuring their natural turf pitches are not only match ready, but built to perform week in, week out.”

For Replay Maintenance, this agreement is more than a supply contract. It’s a strategic move to build a robust Natural Turf Division capable of delivering consistently high standards across an increasing number of sites.

Replay expands UK operations with Kubota FC3-221e Fleet

Replay expands UK operations with Kubota FC3-221e Fleet: One of the UK’s leading synthetic surface maintenance specialists has further strengthened its operation with the addition of five Kubota FC3-221e units, equipped with an out-front artificial brush.

Emerging from the pandemic with rapid growth and new investment, Replay Maintenance are now well placed to service the needs of close to 1,000 facilities nationwide – with the functionality and efficiency of the new Kubota fleet continuing a legacy of more than two decades of reliable service from their Gianni Ferrari units.

With customers ranging from schools and universities, MOD bases, leisure centres and private sports venues, Replay have doubled their workforce since 2020 as the company continues to secure major contracts throughout the UK. “Over the years we’ve learned exactly what we need from our equipment, to keep the growing operation working effectively” explains Managing Director Nick Harris. “Our machines need to be powerful enough to perform, but light and portable enough to transport easily and simple to operate enabling our field teams to work independently.”

Replay found a perfect match with Gianni Ferrari units but welcomed Kubota’s acquisition and subtle evolution of the product line – with the five Kubota FC3-221e machines working as part of a total fleet of 16. Working closely alongside Kubota’s product development team, the FC3-221e’s have been adapted to fully meet the needs of the artificial market, ensuring Replay keep operational consistency across the fleet, avoiding retraining of staff and ensuring a seamless transition for customers.

“Kubota really listened to our feedback to make sure the FC3-221e’s tick every box for us. They’re reliable, efficient and robust enough for the daily cleaning, decompacting, brushing and infill-redistribution on sand-filled, sand-dressed and 3G pitches” Nick says. “The new units retain all the same important performance characteristics, with the added bonus of some adaptations to make for a more comfortable ride and visually more attractive machine.”

With demand high, the plan is to renew more machines over the coming years, with the Kubota FC3’s central to the growth of Replay’s new localised, regional hub strategy. In addition to their core maintenance offering, new services such as their ‘Lift and Recycle’ programme are leading the industry in a sustainable, ‘cradle to grave’ approach. “With innovation, investment and Kubota technology, we’re in a fantastic position to continue setting the benchmark for synthetic surface management in the UK.”

Replay Maintenance launches Natural Turf division

Replay Maintenance launches Natural Turf division: Replay Maintenance has announced the launch of a new Natural Turf division, marking a significant expansion of the company’s service offering and reinforcing its long-term commitment to supporting grassroots and community sport.

The move is supported by the appointment of Ben Sadler as Head of Natural Turf, bringing more than 25 years of hands-on and strategic experience in sports turf management to the business.

Best known as a nationwide provider of synthetic surface maintenance and refurbishment, Replay Maintenance has spent the last two decades working closely with clubs, local authorities and governing bodies.

The introduction of a Natural Turf division enables the company to offer a more comprehensive, joined-up service for sites operating both synthetic and natural grass pitches.

Ben’s career spans golf, sports turf contracting and grassroots football, combining practical expertise with a deep understanding of funding, education and long-term pitch improvement. He began his career working on a local golf course in the Midlands before moving into a fast-growing lawn care business, where he played a key role in scaling the operation from a start-up into a medium-sized company.

“I fell in love with the industry early on, but I was keen to understand the business side as well as the practical side,” said Ben. “Being involved in everything from marketing and sales through to training and operations gave me a really solid foundation.”

More recently, Ben held a technical role focused on grassroots football pitches across Leicestershire, working closely with County FA partners and the Football Foundation. During this time, he supported between 200 and 300 pitches across 40–50 sites, guiding clubs through funding applications, developing schedules of work and delivering on-the-ground improvements.

“There was a lot of education involved, helping clubs understand why certain practices mattered and how they could create a better environment for people to play football,” he explained.

Ben said the opportunity to join Replay Maintenance and build a new division from the ground up was one he couldn’t ignore. “It’s a really exciting opportunity to come in with almost a blank page and work alongside people with so much experience. The ambition is to grow initially across the East Midlands and then expand further as the offer develops.”

As Head of Natural Turf, Ben will lead a programme focused on core maintenance services such as aeration, seeding, fertilising, weed control and top dressing. While the initial emphasis will be on grassroots football, the division will also support rugby, cricket outfields and other natural turf facilities.

“For clubs that don’t have the time, equipment or expertise, we can take that burden away,” said Ben. “For Replay, it means becoming a genuine one-stop shop – looking after both synthetic surfaces and natural turf on the same site.”

Matt Bartle, Group Head of Commercial Strategy at Replay Maintenance, said the launch of the division was a natural progression for the business.

“We’re already a nationwide service provider on the synthetic side, and when the opportunity arose to bring someone of Ben’s calibre into the organisation, it made complete sense to look at natural turf,” said Matt. “It allows us to better support our existing partners and improve footfall and performance across all their pitches.”

Matt added that Ben’s background was a key factor in the decision. “You have to invest in the foundations if you want to get the offer right. Ben came highly recommended, and it quickly became clear that he was the right person to lead this.”

Initially, the Natural Turf division will focus on Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. However, Matt confirmed that longer-term ambitions are firmly nationwide.

“We’ll spend the next 12 months refining the offer, learning and working closely with partners,” he said. “We’ve built a strong reputation in the industry, and by bringing the right people in, we’re confident this division will grow to meet demand in the years ahead.”

Group CEO, Garry Martin, says Nick’s customer-focussed approach has been instrumental to the company’s recent success. “Replay is a service company and Nick is absolutely committed to the needs of our customers. That has never been more important than it is right now, with sport and recreation at all levels in our communities in high demand following the winter lockdown. Nick and his dedicated staff are working tirelessly, in collaboration with other sports industry stakeholders, to help clubs, local authorities and educational establishments bounce back. They can rely on us to keep facilities safe, professionally maintained, and ready for play.”

The company is also looking to build on its success, with recruitment underway for new skilled operatives and an investment of more than £250,000 in new machinery and equipment this year.

“It’s a demanding time to be taking the lead,” Nick acknowledges. “We have a huge role to play in helping people resume the sports and activities they’ve missed and in getting the nation active again. “We’re an ambitious team, and I’m excited about our future plans. Over the past 20 years, Replay has amassed a huge amount of knowledge and expertise, not only about the way surfaces are maintained but also how facilities are managed. Passport 365 has streamlined asset management, using real-time data to aid decision-making and providing operators with a constant overview. It’s a service which continues to evolve, and one that will bring significant benefits to our customers in the coming years.”

The Replay group is set to announce further developments in the UK and overseas this summer.
