In the South of England, we are currently looking for a self-motivated and ambitious individual to work in our sales team. As a Trainee Technical Sales Representative, you’ll support all aspects of grounds maintenance product supply to professional users. Based from home, you will initially work alongside established Technical Sales Managers and in our Camberley Trade Centre as you build your product knowledge and field craft.

The aim of the training provided as part of this role, is to develop the individual into a Technical Sales Manager who is capable of managing their own customer base and advising end users on a broad range of turf care topics including product selection , plant growth management, soil science and advances in technology.

To be right for this role, you’ll be looking for the opportunity to enter a long-term career in sales and technical support, within an exciting sports and landscaping business environment. You will have a strong interest in sports grounds or estate maintenance and sales.

You’ll be self-motivated, willing to accept challenges and confident when meeting people. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills both with in the team and with customers. You must be able to adapt to different personality types and working environments -from the park playing field to the corporate board room!

Ideally you will be qualified in;
• Sports Turf Science HNC/HND/BSC) or;
• A closely related plant and soil science discipline or
• Greenkeeping/Groundsmanship (Level 3 and above)

Finally, you are someone with a basic understanding of the turf industry and who can also demonstrate a good level of IT literacy.

Germinal’s New Sales Representative

Germinal’s New Sales Representative: Germinal has recruited Alex Beesley as its new Amenity Technical Sales Representative for South Wales, the South Midlands and the South West of England.

Based from his home in Rugby, Alex will provide technical sales support to Germinal’s customers throughout his region and will be responsible for promoting the company’s popular range of Grade-A sports and amenity grass seed mixtures to golf course greenkeepers, turf growers, sports groundsmen and landscapers.

Alex will also be responsible for promoting Germinal’s specialist amenity fertiliser range which includes conventional compound products as well as liquid and phased-release fertilisers and specialist sward conditioners.  Alex will also promote Germinal’s range of regional and general landscaping wildflower seed mixtures.

Alex joins Germinal with a wealth of sales and marketing experience within the golf and grounds maintenance sectors: he has previously held positions with DBS Leoch Ltd and Midlands Grounds Machinery where he was responsible for developing new sales accounts and providing class-leading levels of aftersales and service support.

Prior to this Alex was the sales and marketing manager for The Oxfordshire Golf, Hotel and Spa and more latterly had his own golf consultancy business, acting as a golf sales agent for JS International.
