Martin Lishman Introduces New Shrouded Boom

Martin Lishman Introduces New Shrouded Boom: Building on the success of the well-known Micro-Spray, Martin Lishman Ltd has responded to customer feedback with the introduction of a new shrouded boom option, further enhancing the sprayer’s ability to deliver precise, low-drift application on fine turf.

Since its launch in 2015, the Micro-Spray has become a go-to solution for sports turf professionals, valued for its no-impact manoeuvrability, efficiency, and advanced spraying capabilities. Now, with the introduction of the shrouded boom, Martin Lishman is taking that precision to the next level.

In an industry where accuracy is critical, minimising spray drift is a key challenge. The new shrouded boom concentrates spray application to a specific area, eliminating spray drift and allowing operators to spray near sensitive boundaries or in less-than-ideal weather conditions. The enclosed design also helps limit exposure for both the operator and bystanders.

“We had several requests for a shrouded boom option for the Micro-Spray,” explains Joel Capper, Managing Director of Martin Lishman Ltd. “While nozzle technology has come a long way, we recognised the importance of an integrated shrouded boom, rather than just bolting on additional shielding. Our engineering team designed a lightweight, height-adjustable folding boom that seamlessly fits into the Micro-Spray’s frame, staying true to our modular approach. This not only enhances usability but ensures future upgrades remain simple and efficient.”

Designed with amenity spraying in mind, the shrouded boom features a unique folding mechanism, allowing it to collapse neatly for transport and fit through gateways and passageways. The Micro-Spray has built its reputation by delivering professional-grade features in a compact form, including a three-section valve block with agitation, independent shut-off nozzle bodies, stainless steel hardware and a wide range of factory-fitted customisation options.

“At Martin Lishman, product development is driven by listening to our customers,” concludes Joel Capper. “The new shrouded boom is a direct response to their feedback, and we’re excited to see the positive impact it will have on their spraying operations.”

Martin Lishman’s new Shrouded Boom for Nano-Spray

Martin Lishman’s new Shrouded Boom for Nano-Spray: Responding to a clear market need for a breakthrough solution in small-scale spraying, leading compact sprayer manufacturer Martin Lishman introduced the Nano-Spray: an ultra-compact, 36-litre, fully electric self-propelled sprayer designed to deliver a high-precision spray application without impacting fine turf.

Since its launch in November 2023, the Nano-Spray quickly gained popularity among sports turf professionals and small contract businesses.

Continuing Martin Lishman’s commitment to customer feedback and product development, the company is now proud to introduce a new shrouded boom option for the Nano-Spray.

In an industry where precision is paramount, concentrating the applied liquid to a specific area and eliminating spray drift are crucial benefits. The shrouded boom not only ensures accurate application but also allows for spraying near sensitive boundaries and in challenging weather conditions, whilst also minimising the risk of exposure to the operator or bystander.

“When a customer approached us with the idea of adding a shrouded boom to the Nano-Spray, we didn’t hesitate to begin the project,” explains Joel Capper, Managing Director of Martin Lishman Ltd. “Instead of just attaching long buckets to the existing boom, our engineering team were able to seamlessly integrate an entirely new lightweight folding boom into the Nano’s frame. True to our modular design philosophy, this ensures that future upgrades will be straightforward and efficient.”

Designed for use in smaller amenity areas and as an invaluable tool for contractors, the Nano-Spray’s new shrouded boom features a unique folding design with quick-release indexing pins. This innovative design allows the boom to fold compactly, making it small enough to fit in small vehicles and through most gateways and passageways.

Despite its small size, it is fully equipped with an array of features typically reserved for larger, professional-grade sprayers. These include a two-section valve block with agitate, independent shut-off nozzle bodies, stainless steel hardware, lithium battery pack and fingertip spray on/off control.

Joel Capper concluded, “At Martin Lishman, we are dedicated to continuous product development and listening to our customers’ needs. The new shrouded boom for the Nano-Spray is a prime example of this commitment. We are excited to see the positive impact this enhancement will have on our customers’ operations.”
