STIHL’s new mobile box for easy charging and transportation

STIHL’s new mobile box for easy charging and transportation: STIHL’s new CB 1 charging box allows for the efficient transportation and charging of STIHL AP batteries on the go. The all-in-one charging solution, ideal for landscaping and forestry professionals, comes in the form of a sturdy aluminium box which is built to transport and store AP System batteries.

For ease-of-use, the CB 1 can be equipped with up to two STIHL AL 301-4 multi-chargers and can be easily mounted onto or underneath a vehicle, meaning the system can charge and transport up to eight STIHL AP System battery packs.

Once back at the workshop, or on-site, the CB 1 box can be connected to a 230-volt socket using a standard GB plug. What’s more, once professionals are finished for the day, they can leave the batteries in the lockable box overnight for charging. The next day, simply unplug and drive to the first workplace with fully charged batteries.

Additionally, the CB 1 is IPX4 certified, meaning it is protected underneath a vehicle or from rain on top of a flat-bed truck.

STIHL’s first single-sided battery-powered hedge trimmers

STIHL’s first single-sided battery-powered hedge trimmers: Single-sided hedge trimmers offer numerous benefits, including a longer and lighter cutting bar, as well as improved safety. Designed for professional landscapers, the HSA 150 R and HSA 150 T are the first single-sided hedge trimmers in the STIHL AP System, comparable in performance to the popular petrol HS 87.

Available in lengths of 75cm or 100cm, the HSA 150 comes equipped with a catcher plate as standard, increasing the speed at which the top of hedges can be cut.

Alongside the impressive performance, the HSA 150 also offers high levels of operator comfort. The new hedge trimmer weighs just 4.3 – 4.7 kg (without battery) and is comfortable to hold thanks to the ergonomic handle grips. The wide grip stance, combined with the central centre of gravity, allows the HSA 150 to be pivoted with ease, resulting in minimal strain to the operators’ wrists or arms.

The HSA 150 is quiet in operation, and thanks to its highly effective anti-vibration system, is suitable for long periods of use too. When cutting hedges with a petrol machine, the fumes can often collect within the hedge, resulting in a poor working environment for the user. Battery-powered machines such as the HSA 150 can eliminate this problem entirely.

Featuring 38mm tooth spacing, the HSA 150 R is best suited to annual pruning or hedge reduction work. Its lower maximum RPM of 3,200 also allows thicker branch material to enter the cutters efficiently. Alternatively, the HSA 150 T has a higher maximum RPM and smaller 30mm tooth spacing, making it better suited to ornamental or fine leaf hedges such as taxus, buxus or privet, where a fine finish is required.

The HSA 150 benefits from a new gearbox design, consisting of a two-step planetary gear. This results in exceptionally high cutting performance and fast cold start up, as well as improved protection of the internal components thanks to the integrated slip clutch.

To help prevent the blades from jamming, the HSA 150 features an innovative anti-blocking system that reverses the motors rotational direction to unblock the blades, minimising product downtime and enhancing the efficiency of the tool.

The HSA 150 utilises the same friction optimised, double edged blades that feature on the HS 87 professional petrol models, resulting in long lasting sharpness, a consistently clean cut and ample durability for long cutting seasons.

When used with the recommended AP 200 S battery, the HSA 150 R has a maximum working time of 150 minutes, while the HSA 150 T’s maximum working time is up to 140 minutes.

STIHL’s most powerful battery-powered hedge trimmers

STIHL’s most powerful battery-powered hedge trimmers: Designed for professional landscapers, the HSA 140 R and HSA 140 T are the most powerful battery-powered hedge trimmers in the STIHL AP System, comparable in performance to the popular petrol HS 82.

Alongside its impressive performance, the HSA 140 also offers high levels of operator comfort. The new hedge trimmer weighs just 4.3 – 4.6 kg (without battery) and is comfortable to hold, balanced in operation, and features a rotating rear handle that locks into three positions across a 180-degree range, reducing wrist strain when working for extended periods of time on the same side of a hedge.

The first dedicated vacuum in STIHL’s AP System

The first dedicated vacuum in STIHL’s AP System: Designed for professional landscapers and grounds maintenance teams, the SHA 140 vacuum shredder is the most powerful in the STIHL lineup, offering 15% improved suction power compared to the petrol SH 86. Ideal for the autumn and winter months, the SHA 140 makes light work of collecting and shredding leaves and green material.

The variable speed trigger provides the operator full control to match the power output to the task at hand, whether that’s working around delicate flower beds, or utilising the boost mode to collect damp leaves. The reinforced suction tube can be used to loosen stubborn leaves, ensuring nothing is left behind.

The wide positioning of the rubberised handles ensures comfortable handling and excellent maneuovrability, allowing the user to work quickly with minimal fatigue or arm strain. Perfect balance has also been acheived thanks to the central location of the battery between the handles. Like many battery-powered tools, the SHA 140 is lightweight and quiet in operation, eliminating the requirement for hearing protection.

Featuring an adjustable shoulder strap, the 55l collection bag sits comfortably at the operators side without impairing movement. The robust metal buckle openings are able to withstand the toughest working conditions, while the large opening leads to quick and complete emptying with minimal effort.  Ventilation openings can be used to deliver constant suction power, regardless of the fill level or the degree of dust and dirt in the bag.

Easy transport and storage have also been factored into the design, with fast and tool free removal of the catcher bag and suction tube to make dismantling the tool effortless.

With the recommended AP 300 S battery, the SHA 140 has a long working time of up to 60 minutes. For more information on STIHL’s range of AP System tools, please visit www.stihl.co.uk

STIHL’s first 12” cut-off machine

STIHL’s first 12” cut-off machine: STIHL has launched its first 12” cut-off machine in the AP System. Suitable for hardscaping, construction and pipework, the TSA 300 combines impressive cutting performance with a compact and well-balanced design.

Developed with precision in mind, the TSA 300 features variable speed control and creates a significantly narrower cutting kerf compared to petrol models such as the TS 410, resulting in greater battery efficiency and cutting accuracy. Compared with the TS 410, the TSA 300 is lighter, more compact and features less vibration too, for even better handling.

Like all AP System batteries and tools, the TSA 300 features a robust design and construction suitable for demanding professional applications, while remaining at a low weight of 8.3 kg (with battery).

With a maximum power output of 2.5 kW when used with the recommended AP 500 S battery, this versatile machine is ideal for quickly cutting roofing tiles, bricks, metal and paving blocks up to a thickness of 110 mm.

When the trigger of the TSA 300 is released, the wheel slows to a stop in under 4 seconds, with the braking energy being recuperated to the battery for greater efficiency and longer working times.

The TSA 300 also benefits from STIHL’s power boost technology, a feature that regulates the power input from the battery to increase cutting performance whilst protecting the machine from overheating.

A new magnetic filter protects the internal components from metal dust ingress, resulting in reduced downtime and easier maintenance. The TSA 300 is compatible with the Smart Connector 2 A, a smart device that plugs directly into the control module of the machine, sending maintenance reminders to the operator’s smartphone via Bluetooth.
