Strong Turnout for Green-tech’s First Urban Landscaping Event

Strong Turnout for Green-tech’s First Urban Landscaping Event: Green-tech has successfully completed its first roadshow in Ireland, bringing together 36 industry professionals in Dublin for a focused discussion on designing climate-resilient cities.

Held at Croke Park, the event welcomed attendees from across the landscaping, planning and environmental sectors. The roadshow marked a significant step in extending Green-tech Specifier’s expertise into Ireland, while strengthening collaboration across the wider Origin Enterprises group.

The event, titled Designing Cities for Climate Resilience – Where Do We Start, focused on practical, climate-positive urban design. The agenda explored how Blue-Green infrastructure, wildflowers, and nature-based solutions can be implemented to create more sustainable, resilient urban environments.

A highlight of the day was the strong sense of collaboration, with Aebhín Cawley, Founder and Managing Director of Scott Cawley, joining Green-tech on stage. Aebhín’s presentation was particularly well received, reinforcing the value of cross-business knowledge sharing within Origin Enterprises.

The speaker line-up also included Dusty Gedge. Dusty, a consultant with the Green Infrastructure Consultancy (GIC) and leading authority on green roofs, shared his insights on delivering practical, ecologically rich solutions in cities, including the implementation of green roofs and nature-based systems. His session sparked lively discussion and reinforced the importance of combining design, policy, and technical expertise to create resilient, biodiverse urban spaces.

Georgia Gilbert and Seraya Sigsworth delivered incisive sessions on behalf of Green-tech, with Georgia Gilbert commenting, “It was fantastic to be part of Green-tech’s first Ireland roadshow and to see such strong engagement from attendees. There is a real appetite for integrating biodiversity into urban design, and wildflowers have a crucial role to play in creating spaces that are not only resilient but also visually and ecologically rich.”

Seraya Sigsworth added, “The conversations throughout the day showed how important it is to take a joined-up approach to climate resilience. Blue-Green infrastructure is no longer a future concept, it is something we need to be implementing now. It was great to share practical insights and hear directly from professionals facing these challenges on the ground.”

The event concluded with a Q&A panel session, where all speakers came together to answer questions and discuss real-world challenges. This open forum encouraged meaningful dialogue and provided attendees with valuable, actionable takeaways.

With positive feedback across the board and strong engagement throughout, the roadshow represents a successful first step in a series of similar events for knowledge sharing and industry collaboration.

Green-tech now looks forward to building on this momentum, continuing to support Irish specifiers, designers, and contractors with innovative solutions that drive sustainable urban development.

Reesink Turfcare brings strong presence to BTME

Reesink Turfcare brings strong presence to BTME: Distributor Reesink Turfcare brings a strong presence to BTME 2026, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and equipment designed to streamline golf course management, improve efficiency, and elevate course conditions.

Software and technology feature heavily in three new product launches and the latest to market machinery. Here are some of the innovations on display.

Satellite technology

Thanks to Toro’s exclusive partnership with TerraRad, turfRad uses remote sensing technology to detect moisture information deep under the surface of the turf accessing everything there is to know to make actionable changes to improve irrigation.

Each sensor takes about 10,000 single-point measurements per fairway and considers the chlorophyll content and surface temperature from the microwaves naturally emitting from the soil. This real-time data is sent to the turfRad software to help provide a streamlined, more effective irrigation strategy that eliminates the need for manual labour when it comes to moisture monitoring and sprinkler adjustments.

turfRad will be on display at BTME affixed to the revolutionary customer favourite, Toro Reelmaster 5010-H, Toro Lynx software will also be available to view and Reesink representatives will be on stand to run through its UI.

Robert Jackson, Hydro-Scapes Division Manager, comments: “As a simple attachment to a Toro mower or utility vehicle, monitoring your soil to accumulate actionable information fits into the day job with turfRad. The information acquired can be used to make decisions that make savings, identify issues and irregularities, direct attention to problem areas and use water more strategically.”

Web-based digital toolkit

Intelli360 is the new web-based digital toolkit to simplify how course managers keep operations running smoothly from one day to the next. With this, they can manage equipment fleets from anywhere, monitor operating status, hours and upcoming maintenance needs and manage resources in real-time from one central hub.

Battery-powering customer favourites

Toro’s brand-new fully electric GreensPro e1700 is electric efficiency personified. It utilises two to four of Toro’s hypercell batteries, larger rollers, and a unique hitch design to allow for easy transition from rolling to transport. It will sit alongside the equally whisper-quiet, also brand new addition to the Workman utility vehicles range – the Toro LTX Lithium.

Autonomous technology

Ground-breaking when they launched at BTME last year, the Toro autonomous range including the Groundsmaster eTriFlex 3360 with GeoLink Mow and Turf Pro 300 and 500 state-of-the-art autonomous robotic mowers utilise advanced technology for consistently clean, well-maintained turf and crisply cut grass with minimal operator input and quiet operation.

These mowers care for every inch of the turf without sacrificing quality and free up greenkeeping staff to apply their specialised skills to other needs across the course, just like the autonomous technology in the Range Pro can ease the labour-intensive task of collecting golf balls from the driving range.

Jon Cole, Divisional Business Manager, Reesink Turfcare, says: “It is evident from our Toro line up how technology and software continues to lead product development, bringing big changes in operational efficiencies and the health and aesthetics of the course. Our Reesink representatives on stand look forward to talking through the products and benefits they bring with customers looking for innovations that count.”

The irrigation and water aeration offering from Reesink will have the usual focus on water sustainability. Alongside the most advanced central control system, there will be controllers and sprinklers from Toro and water aerators for creating the cleanest, healthiest water quality for your lakes, ponds, and reservoirs from Otterbine.

See what Reesink has to offer for 2026 on stand 622 at BTME 20-22 January.

Alongside their range of world class pedestrian sprayers will be the Weed Wizard, a high-performance utility sprayer that also offers significant environmental and economic benefits to users via highly targeted weed control and minimal use of chemicals.

This ATV-mounted spraying system identifies weeds through digital imagery and makes a direct application onto weeds via multiple pencil jet nozzles. Each individually-controlled nozzle treats a specific area of 100mm across the machine’s width. The Weed Wizard targets weeds with a high degree of accuracy using ultra-low-drift nozzles combined with computer-aided spot spray technology to minimise overspray and reduce environmental impact. The intelligent application system is automatic, allowing the operator to focus on driving the vehicle.

Completing the line-up is the new Prodrift shrouded sprayer. With outstanding eco-credentials it offers users low-decibel operation combined with superior build quality including a tough rotomoulded boom cover and flexible integrated skirt for maximum accuracy around boundaries. The Prodrift keeps spray drift to an absolute minimum, allowing it to perform in less favourable weather whilst maintaining maximum accuracy and delivering unparalleled manoeuvrability due to its unique 3-wheel set up.

Using a high-power Li-on battery to power a 12v pump supplying 4 spray nozzles mounted into a spray hood, the Prodrift has 2 fixed rear wheels and a front mounted, single pivot wheel enabling it to spray up against boundary edges. Pressure control is easy to adjust using a highly visible pressure gauge.

All new models come with the Techneat guarantees of superior build quality, precision accuracy and drift reduction technology.
