FSI Stump Cutters introduce FSI B23: FSI Stump Cutters proudly introduces the FSI B23, the successor to the popular FSI B22. Combining familiar design elements from both the FSI B21 and FSI B22, the B23 is engineered for everyday professional work by arborists, landscapers, contractors, and hire companies.

With the FSI B23, you get to choose between a 14hp Kohler engine or an 11hp Honda engine, while enjoying the benefits of hydraulic wheel drive. The B23 combines power and user-friendliness with well-known and well-loved design features to make stump grinding easy and efficient.

New features of FSI B23:

  • Auto-Sweep Release: Automatically releases the sweep lock when the wheel brakes are applied, allowing you to reposition the machine quickly and safely at the stump.
  • Closed Bearing on Cutterwheel Housing: Pre-greased and sealed from the factory for over 1,000 hours of operation, eliminating daily greasing and reducing maintenance concerns.
  • Safety Bar: Stops the machine when released for increased operator safety.

Other new features also include a larger sweep for increased cutting range, recoil start of the engine, and a document tube and hour meter now included as standard.

Norfolk Arborist thrives with reliable stump grinding solutions: The Norfolk Arborist has gone from strength to strength since its formation in 2017, providing expert residential and commercial tree maintenance services throughout East Anglia. On the journey alongside owner Michael Lomax since day one is an FSI B22, which continues to handle every stump removal job with effective, reliable results week in, week out.

With a large portfolio of domestic clients and commercial contracts including the Ministry of Defence and several large landowners throughout Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Northamptonshire, no two weeks are ever the same for Michael and his team. “It’s incredibly versatile and easy to use, making it a popular choice with the team” Michael explains. “Being self-propelled means we can send one van, equipped with a chipper and the FSI B22 stump grinder, and the team will have everything they need to get the job done. We must have clocked up close to 1000 hours with this machine and, with the exception of the regular wear and tear replacements, we’ve had next to no issues.”

He emphasises, “The reliability of this machine has been extraordinary. We must have made our money back on it ten-fold over the years!”

The robust performance of FSI is not limited to the smaller jobs however. For larger domestic and commercial projects Michael turns to his local FSI Partner Stag Machinery, where he readily hires the powerful yet highly manoeuvrable FSI D30. “There’s not a lot the FSI D30 can’t do! We can tackle up to 120 two-foot stumps in a day, making it very productive and highly efficient. Not only that but the lighter footprint of this machine compared to others in this category means we can still transport the unit over residential lawns, patios and other sensitive areas if needed without risk of causing damage.”

Lee Hatton becomes shareholder of FSI Stump Cutters: It’s been an incredibly busy and exciting 15 months since the formation of the wholly owned UK subsidiary of FSI Stump Cutters.

The establishment and subsequent strengthening of a nationwide dealer partner network and the introduction of the higher horsepower FSI B31-980 are two of many significant developments – the latest of which is the announcement that Sales Director Lee Hatton has officially become a shareholder of FSI Stump Cutters UK Ltd.

Lee has been a major part of the success of FSI in the UK and Irish stump grinding markets throughout 2024. Coming from a background as an area sales manager, this hands-on experience and sales know-how has created strong foundations for Lee to support both new and highly experienced dealers across FSI’s UK partner network. He has become the port of call for new and prospective customers across the country, reaffirming the belief that owners and operators value interaction with FSI directly, as well as with their local FSI partner – resulting in increased sales and market share.

Engaging with end-users is something FSI as a manufacturer have always prioritised and is why, together with Lee, members of the Danish team have been present at all major UK shows and events. This not only demonstrates FSI’s commitment to the UK but provides a platform for end-user feedback and requests which are helping to shape future developments across the Engine, Hydraulic and Tractor-mounted range. This is something that is set to continue with FSI retaining a strong presence, in both staff and equipment, at The Arb Show this May.

Founded in 2002, FSI Stump Cutters have one of the industry’s widest ranges of quality-built stump grinders spanning engine, hydraulic and PTO-powered models – the latest addition to which will be unveiled on the opening morning.
