Price Turfcare and Ventrac at SALTEX 25

Price Turfcare and Ventrac at SALTEX 25: Price Turfcare, Ventrac distributor for the UK and Ireland, will be exhibiting the versatility of the Ventrac 4520 tractors and the ever growing range of attachments for all seasons.

Specifically, this year, some winter attachments will be showcased on our static stand, E042. The Ventrac SB350 brine application unit holds 132 litres of liquid which can be precisely applied with the 1.2m to 2.1m boom. Steps and other tight spaces can be accessed by using the standard spray wand with 2.4m hose. This is adequate capacity for brine application on pavements, walkways and other transitional areas. Brine has the advantage over rock salt in that it has a more immediate effect when dispensed, requires less salt overall and creates a liquid barrier on hard surfaces preventing snow and ice from sticking. In addition, Price Turfcare will have a live demo area, F001.

Here we will demonstrate the 30deg climbing ability of the 4520 and the ease and speed with which attachments can be mounted onto the tractor.

Following this, the Basic Machinery Workshop will take place on 17 November 2025. This one-day session focuses on practical daily checks, essential adjustments, and fundamental repair techniques. Both sessions aim to give greenkeeping teams and turfcare technicians the confidence and competence to manage their equipment more effectively.

Each course includes access to an online Abrasive Wheel safety awareness module, approved by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). This training aligns with HSG 17 guidance and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Attendees will also receive lunch and refreshments, a Bernhard Academy certificate of completion, and BIGGA members will benefit from course discounts and CPD credit eligibility.

Looking beyond Scotland, the Bernhard Academy continues to champion technical development across the industry. On 23 September 2025, the Turf Equipment Technicians Conference will take place at Bernhard and Company’s manufacturing headquarters in Haverhill. Endorsed by the Turf Equipment Technicians Organisation (TETO), the event brings together turf professionals from across the UK to collaborate, share expertise and celebrate the vital role equipment technicians play in turfcare excellence.

Sami Strutt, Education Director for the Bernhard Academy, commented: “These sessions at Gleneagles are part of our ongoing mission to empower technicians with the tools, knowledge and confidence to elevate their work. Whether you’re starting out or refining your craft, our aim is to offer relevant, practical education that helps people and their clubs thrive.”

A trio of Toro for turfcare excellence at Hayston

A trio of Toro for turfcare excellence at Hayston: Under the stewardship of Head Greenkeeper Alan Brown since 2018 and with wise machinery choices, course presentation at Hayston Golf Club is the best it’s been in 50 years according to members. With a further boost from three new Toro machines that looks set to continue well into the future.

The club’s latest investment includes the Toro Greensmaster 3250-D, Greensmaster TriFlex 3420 Hybrid and Reelmaster 5610-D, chosen for their durability, comfort and long-term performance.

The timing is perfect as they arrive as Alan and his team of four build on recent successes by reshaping bunkers, enhancing green drainage and continuing to elevate the overall playability and aesthetics of the course.

Central to achieving these goals is the partnership with Toro and its distributor, Reesink Turfcare, says Alan. “When you’re aiming for the best results, you need the best equipment – and in turfcare, Toro is top of the class.”

Alan was already familiar with Toro’s capabilities from his previous position at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club and was pleased to find a 20-year-old Toro rough mower still performing reliably when he joined Hayston six and a half years ago. “That speaks volumes about the durability and performance of Toro machines when they’re properly maintained,” he notes.

Speaking about the importance of proper maintenance and servicing, Alan highlights the value of Reesink’s support: “The team at Reesink are fantastic – always responsive, knowledgeable and ready to assist. They’ve helped us stay on top of servicing and keep us informed about any equipment updates.”

And best of all, the team at Hayston is enthusiastic about the new additions: “The guys really enjoy using these new mowers,” says Alan. “They’ve been working with Toro equipment for some years, so getting familiar with how they work and are maintained was second nature. Plus, the comfort is exceptional – especially the seat positioning, which makes a huge difference when you’re on the machine for long hours, day after day.”

Reflecting on the team’s achievements, Alan comments: “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together. The feedback from members and visitors has been overwhelmingly positive – we’ve had comments about how this is the best the course has looked in 50 years. That means a lot.”
