AriensCo To Make Zero-Turns In UK

AriensCo To Make Zero-Turns In UK: AriensCo has announced that production of Ariens brand zero-turn mowers will commence at the company’s factory in Great Haseley, Oxfordshire.

It’s believed these will be the first zero-turns to be manufactured in Europe. AriensCo reports seeing an exceptional growth in demand for zero-turn mowers in the UK and Europe. This follows similar trends in the US, where sales have more than tripled since 2003 as the popularity among users has soared. According to industry analysis, zero-turn sales in Europe have grown more than 30% over the last four years, making them the fastest growing category of ride-on mowers and third fastest in the lawn and garden power equipment sector.

AriensCo To Make Zero-Turns In UK

“Sales of zero-turns in Europe have experienced exceptional growth over the past three years,” says Darren Spencer, Vice President – EMEA and Asia. “AriensCo has experienced this growth in numerous markets and, based upon extensive research with our distribution partners, we expect the growth to continue. This industry analysis points to the many opportunities to be met by producing zero-turns at our Great Haseley plant. We currently sell into ten different countries within Europe and aim to increase our European footprint in 2020. Future growth will accelerate as the benefits of zero-turn mowers are understood by customers. Zero-turn users are experiencing increased speed of cut and greater versatility over tractors and out-fronts.”

During 2019 AriensCo continues to make significant investment in the Oxfordshire factory in preparation for zero-turn production, including a new production line, fixtures and tooling. The UK will be manufacturing CE zero-turns for European markets only and will initially be producing the IKON, APEX and ZENITH models. Close collaboration with the US will be maintained to ensure products match up to Ariens’ reputation for manufacturing quality.

Zero-turn production in the UK is seen to offer significant advantages, allowing for rapid delivery and improved availability throughout the year. There is also potential for zero-turns to be adapted with features and benefits to meet local market needs.  Increased utilisation of the manufacturing facility at Great Haseley will provide operational cost benefits and will generate a number of new jobs for the area. The first zero-turn to come off the production line will be at the end of October.

Limagrain UK Appoint Sam Horner

Limagrain UK Appoint Sam Horner: Sam Horner has been appointed as Limagrain UK’s new amenity seed specialist covering the south of England, the company has announced.

Sam has been involved in the sports turf industry for over twenty years and brings with him a wealth of experience.

Limagrain UK Appoint Sam Horner

It all started at his beloved Gloucester Rugby where he first became familiar with sports turf maintenance. He then went onto study sports turf at college and after graduating he landed a job at Tewkesbury Park Golf Club. Sam quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to deputy course manager before accepting the position of golf course manager at Gloucester Golf Club.

Five years ago he moved into a sales and marketing role within the amenity industry but continues to ‘work on the tools’ by offering match-day support for the grounds staff at Gloucester Rugby.

Commenting on his new position at Limagrain UK, Sam said that the opportunity was just too good to turn down.

“It was a very easy decision – all the way through the process I knew that if I was offered the job then I was absolutely going to take it. Limagrain is an outstanding company, in terms of its product portfolio and its reputation – the way it conducts itself is very professional. Limagrain has always been a leading company in the industry working at the very high end of sports turf and opportunities like this do not come along very often – I was always going to take it.”

With immediate effect Sam will now be offering technical advice and full support on products such as Limagrain’s leading brands of MM and Designer grass seeds and Colour Splash amenity flower mixtures.

Trime UK Launch X-DUST FIGHTER

Trime UK Launch X-DUST FIGHTER: Following on from the successful launch of the environmentally sound, X-SPLASH and X-BOOT site cleaning systems, Trime UK have completed the development of another water-centred product – the X-DUST FIGHTER.

The X-DUST FIGHTER is designed to provide workers with safe protection from airborne contaminates in concentrated areas, helping to deliver a healthier atmosphere in which to complete their duties. The X-DUST FIGHTER produces a fine spray of water through a series of high-pressure jets; the mist is then propelled onto the site by a powerful fan, rendering the area free from unhealthy and hazardous material.  The X-DUST FIGHTER is ideally suited for both outdoor and indoor applications.

Trime UK Launch X-DUST FIGHTER

Similar in size to a small cement mixer, the Trime X-DUSTFIGHTER is highly portable and can easily be positioned to maximise its effectiveness. An operator simply connects the X-DUST FIGHTER to a constant water source and an 110v electricity supply and the machine is ready to work.

The X-DUST FIGHTER will cover to 15 metres. The emitted nebulised water particles are designed to measure a tiny 40–120 micron diameter. This means that they mix with any airborne dust particles of similar dimensions and force them to the ground.

Trime UK’s research suggests that the X-DUST FIGHTER will become an essential health and safety component with trades such as builders, landscapers, light demolition contractors and recycling agencies. It is also an ideal product for inclusion into a rental fleet.

Commenting on this latest innovation from Trime, Paul Hay, managing director said, “The X-SPLASH has already been a great success and the interest we have received about the X-BOOT is very encouraging, so we fully expect the X-DUST FIGHTER to be an equal success.”

“Not only do these products help to improve the standards of safety on site, but they also contribute to an overall improvement of efficiency at work, whilst helping to reduce overall water usage,” added Paul.

Trime UK Limited designs, develops and distributes a range of sustainable equipment for the UK construction, rental and events markets. Trime UK is headquartered in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire; their manufacturing plant is based near Milan, Italy.
