AriensCo unveils AS-Motor at SALTEX: AriensCo, an industry leader in outdoor power equipment, will be exhibiting its Ariens range of professional petrol and electric zero-turns alongside AS-Motor’s speciality products at Saltex in Birmingham’s NEC, from 2nd – 3rd November.

This is the first UK trade show bringing Ariens and its range of industry leading zero-turns and AS-Motor’s specialised high grass, slopes and mulching mowers together since AriensCo became the UK distributor of AS-Motor earlier this year.

On display will be Ariens’ APEX and ZENITH. The Ariens’ APEX has established itself as an industry leading zero-turn with uncompromising performance, power and precision, available in 48” and 52” decks with side and rear discharge configuration. ZENITH is Ariens’ fully commercial zero-turn with enhanced operator features. It comes with 60” or a newly developed 52” deck and has rear and side discharge capability. All Ariens petrol powered zero-turn mowers for the UK and Europe are manufactured at its Oxfordshire factory.

Excitingly, Ariens’ battery powered ZENITH E zero-turn will also be on show. ZENITH E retains all the same top-class features as the ZENITH but with no emissions and low noise. The ZENITH E range has increased with the addition of 48” and 52” side and rear discharge decks alongside the original 60”.

Additionally, Ariens will be presenting its new commercial stand-on mower, the ARROW. This low-profile machine offers professionals both speed and accuracy, giving them the ability to mow large areas of grass and manoeuvre easily around flower beds, trees and other obstacles. ARROW comes with both 32” and 36” decks and will soon be available to purchase.

Following the recent acquisition of AS-Motor, AriensCo is excited to be exhibiting its range of high- grass and mulching products. On display will be the SHERPA and YAK commercial ride-on mowers. These machines combine strength, performance and comfort to tackle even the toughest meadows, slopes and high grass areas.

Furthermore, AS-Motor’s range of petrol and battery powered walk-behind mulching mowers will be on display as well as its specialist battery powered WeedHex tool.

Brad Stiles, Vice President of Sales, EMEAA, said, “AriensCo is one of the fastest growing outdoor power equipment suppliers in Europe and we can’t wait to show Saltex the benefits of joining us on this incredible journey. Our exceptional line-up of Ariens petrol and battery powered zero-turns, speciality AS-Motor products and outstanding customer service sets us apart from others in the industry. There’s never been a better time to grow with us.”

Ventrac unveils new flail mowers

Ventrac unveils new flail mowers: Continuing their commitment to produce the highest quality accessories, Ventrac has added two Flail mowers to its growing list of dedicated attachments.

Flail mowers are a perfect choice for any overgrown area, so the new patent-pending Fine Cut and Fast Cut mowing decks are in a class of their own. With out-front mounted couplings unique to Ventrac, these attachments provide a quality finish on tall or dense areas of vegetation for fast and efficient turf management.

Add Ventrac’s capability to mow difficult areas such as slopes, wet areas, or retention pond, and these new decks will ensure an enhanced appearance for any property. Ideal for landscaping applications on slopes, wet areas and retention basins, these mowers make previously impossible turf management situations, possible.

The two available models, Fine Cut (MW series) and Fast Cut (MY series), feature unique knife choices and offer two width options for more versatility of cut, speed, and application. Cutting widths for the decks are 1.42m (56”) and 1.83m (72”) and offer the most versatility for specific property needs.

The Fine Cut Flails (MW560/MW720) are equipped with scoop knives, and will achieve a quality cut with a more finished look on grassed areas mowed between three and eight times per year.

The Fast Cut Flails (MY560/MY720) feature Y-shaped knives, for taming dense and brush-type material. The Fast Cut is an excellent choice for areas of overgrown brush and woodland margins that do not require regular mowing, while providing a superior finish to that of a typical rotary rough-cut mower.

“The introduction of these two new flail options complements our existing Tough Cut rotary mowing deck”, said Rupert Price, of Price Turfcare, the distributor of Ventrac products for the UK and Ireland. “All decks have a flip-up option for easy maintenance, enabling access to the knives for sharpening or replacement.

“Although powered by a sub-25hp Kubota diesel engine, we have enough residual power to provide a rotor speed of 3,000 rpm. This is vitally important as it’s the speed of rotor that dictates the speed and efficiency of the cutting knives and, ultimately, the quality of cut and finish.

“Ventrac has made a conscious decision to keep the power unit of their 4500 tractor unit below the 25hp emissions threshold of Tier 4 legislation. It continues to surprise end-users with the power generated by a relatively small engine and its ability to effortlessly drive each and every attachment. Very rarely do you hear a change in the engine note or experience a loss of power. It is one of the major selling points of the machine.”

BIGGA unveils new outdoor festival

BIGGA unveils new outdoor festival: The British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association has unveiled a brand new outdoor festival and exhibition, taking place in June 2021.

The event, called the Festival of Turf, will bring together the greenkeeping and turf management industry for two days of innovation, exhibition and entertainment.

Taking place in the COVID-secure setting of the Warwickshire Event Centre on 8 & 9 June 2021, the Festival of Turf will feature two full exhibition days with a wide range of trade stalls and opportunities to interact with vendors and meet face-to-face with industry peers for the first time since before the coronavirus pandemic took hold.

The Warwickshire Event Centre is located on the outskirts of Leamington Spa, close to Coventry. Centrally-located, the venue enjoys easy access to all transport networks, along with 2,000 free parking spaces.

The Warwickshire Event Centre can accommodate up to 200 exhibitors and is capable of welcoming 3,000 visitors a day through its doors. Set in a 30-acre site with both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, the venue provides countless opportunities to make the Festival of Turf an innovative and exciting new event for the greenkeeping and amenity turf management industry.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic BIGGA has been in regular conversation with regulators, golf’s governing bodies and central government and there is widespread confidence that a successful event can take place in June 2021. Importantly, there is also a keen desire among commercial partners and industry professionals to provide an event that enables the industry to move forward and begin the process of rebuilding so many key relationships that have been eroded through the distance imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

BTME, BIGGA’s annual trade exhibition that was due to be held in January 2021, has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the Association remains proud that the event’s spiritual home, the Harrogate Convention Centre, continues to be utilised as an NHS Nightingale Hospital.

BIGGA’s world-renowned education programme, Continue to Learn, has moved to an entirely-online format and will be held across two weeks during January 2021. More information can be found on the BIGGA website.

BIGGA CEO Jim Croxton said: “I’m excited that BIGGA is finally able to launch the Festival of Turf to the industry and bring some much-needed hope for a brighter future. The Festival of Turf is a hugely welcome opportunity to reunite our industry, which will have been forcibly separated by the global pandemic for nearly 18 months by the time this event takes place.

“The industry has survived brilliantly despite all the challenges it has faced, due in no small part to the resilience and adaptability of BIGGA members and the network of commercial partners and who have supported us all throughout the pandemic. There has been a clear groundswell of opinion that members, other turf professionals and commercial supporters want the opportunity to celebrate our achievements and put this whole terrible ordeal behind us – and that’s where the Festival of Turf comes in. The event will be an opportunity to reconnect at a time when personal connections have never been more vital.”
