Wildflower Turf To Debut Products

Meadowscape Pro™ allows for the creation of dynamic and biodiverse wild flower spaces in a range of settings with minimal ground preparation, saving time and money.

Extensively tested and enriched with Hydropor™, this specially developed formula supports good water percolation and retention, stabilising the growing medium for much better seed germination compared to more conventional seeding methods.

Meadowscape Pro™ is suitable for a number of different sites and the product delivers optimal seed germination leading to quick, healthy seedling growth.

The Meadowscape Pro™ range will consist of Meadowscape Pro™ Landscape, Meadowscape Pro™ Shade Tolerant, Meadowscape Pro™ Native Enriched, Meadowscape Pro™ Annuals, and Meadowscape Pro™ Species Rich Lawn.

A tailored, bespoke version of Meadowscape Pro™ can also be made available to a more specified brief, in line with individual customer needs.

In conjunction with the launch of Meadowscape Pro™, Wildflower Turf Ltd has also released Wildflower Turf® Finisher after consultation with established landscape contractors.

Wildflower Turf® Finisher is designed to fill joins, edges and small gaps for Wildflower Turf® projects and will eradicate the need for wastage of the Wildflower Turf® product when laying complex areas.

Suitable for application during or after the installation of Wildflower Turf®, this complementary product can be used to dress small bare patches that may have been created within a wild flower meadow design.

Perfect for use around trees, plants and around areas of defined shapes where cutting the Wildflower Turf® becomes more complicated and could create expensive wastage, Wildflower Turf® Finisher will be supplied in convenient 20kg bags that will ensure the highest possible standard of finish to an area of Wildflower Turf®.

Managing Director of Wildflower Turf Ltd, James Hewetson-Brown said, “We are committed to continually improving and widening our product and service offering and supplying our customers with innovative, research-led wildflower solutions. Investment in our on-site Research & Development facility ensures that all our products are rigorously tested and we will continue to pioneer new products that provide guaranteed results.”

Wildflower Endorsed By Royal Botanic Gardens

Wildflower Endorsed By Royal Botanic Gardens: As of 1st September 2019, renowned UK wildflower specialists Wildflower Turf Ltd, have been endorsed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The partnership is a fitting recognition of a family-run business that continues to lead the way in the creation of biodiverse wildflower environments.

Wildflower Endorsed By Royal Botanic Gardens

Based in Hampshire and with a second growing site in Yorkshire, Wildflower Turf Ltd originally began their association with Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in 2016.

At the request of the Head of the Arboretum at Kew, Wildflower Turf Ltd grew and supplied a wildflower meadow that was installed alongside Kew Garden’s magnificent Hive installation. The wildflower meadow contributed to an immersive visitor experience and helped to highlight the importance of bees as pollinators for our food sources.

Wildflower Turf Ltd’s pioneering approach is driven by product innovation and the company has invested heavily in research and development, with an on-site research facility assisting the business to continually improve and widen its offering.

Alongside well-recognised brands such as Wildflower Turf® the business also develops bespoke wildflower mixes for a range of customers and was a key supplier to the London 2012 Olympics.

Managing Director of Wildflower Turf Ltd, James Hewetson -Brown said, “We are delighted to be aligned with the globally recognised institution that is the                     Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Both organisations strive to represent the best in environmental improvement, conservation, knowledge and aesthetics and we look forward to a long and continuing association.”

Tony Kirkham, Head of the Arboretum, Gardens, and Horticultural Services at Kew said: “It’s fantastic to be able to endorse Wildflower Turf. Our first collaboration on the lush and vibrant meadow around the Hive saw us partner together to bring to life a visual representation of the importance of pollinators. It was an outstanding success, and I am looking forward to a continuing relationship”.

DLF’s Wildflower And Winter Mixtures

DLF’s Wildflower And Winter Mixtures: Sports, Lawn and Wildflower seed will all be under the spotlight as DLF Seeds return to SALTEX.

The technical team will be on hand to provide mixture advice across the Johnsons Sports Seed and Masterline ranges, but also, visitors to stand J100 will have the chance to win innovative tools for effective on-the-spot overseeding, worth over £600!

DLF's Wildflower And Winter Mixtures

With sustainability and ecology still very much on the agenda for golf courses and those managing green spaces, the DLF Pro Flora wildflower range has been extended with the addition of 3 Colour Boost mixtures. Designed to deliver maximum colour, diversity and interest, the Colour Boost collection incorporates native wildflowers and garden flowering species to deliver a dazzling floral display throughout the year, whilst providing welcome food and shelter for a variety of wildlife.

With winter approaching, the importance of regular overseeding cannot be over-emphasised – essential for sward development, overseeding improves turf quality and can reduce maintenance costs over the long term. DLF’s new turf type tetraploids are ideal for winter overseeding, bred for rapid germination and establishment even under low soil temperatures. These 4Turf tetraploids develop a stronger and deeper rooting system which also improves the efficiency in which nutrients, including Nitrogen, are utilised. Incorporated into Johnsons Sports Seed mixtures including J 4Turf and J Rescue Stadia, the qualities of 4Turf make it suitable for autumn/winter programmes for football, rugby, golf tees, polo and racecourses.

To help make the overseeding process more efficient and effective, DLF have teamed up with ForthRoots to give visitors to SALTEX the chance to win both the new RyeSeeder and MultiTool. For precision overseeding, the RyeSeeder features interchangeable tine options that are designed to fit perfectly into the scars left following matches or training, to create the perfect bed for placement of recovery seeding. With double the tines, the ForthRoots MultiTool is ideal for larger areas – eliminating the need for tractor mounted-overseeding during the playing season.
