Reesink expands irrigation range

Reesink expands irrigation range: By taking on the distribution of Perrot sprinklers in the UK, Reesink Hydro-Scapes is expanding its offering of professional irrigation solutions for sports customers.

Perrot is known for being able to provide the right irrigation solution to suit any size and meet any requirements, whether for natural, synthetic or hybrid turf. The various combinations of sprinklers available mean that an extremely wide range of different needs can be easily met.

Reesink is bringing to the UK three types of sprinkler technology in six powerful Perrot sprinklers to suit all sorts of sports surfaces – football, golf, hockey, tennis, even horse racetracks. Regardless of which sprinklers are chosen, Perrot systems can reach every inch, in every tight corner, ensuring maximum turf health with minimum water consumption says the manufacturer.

When Toro acquired the manufacturer of Perot’s retractable sprinklers, it was to grow Toro’s presence in the sports field industry and provide more choice to customers and Reesink Hydro-Scapes was given the opportunity to take on the UK distribution of Perrot alongside Toro irrigation.

It was an easy decision to make, says Robert Jackson, Reesink Hydro-Scapes division manager: “Toro and Perrot come from the same place in terms of the commitment they have to manufacturing high-quality, professional irrigation products and providing exceptional service to customers. This is of course something we have had in common with Toro for 40 years and having those values align with a new manufacturer was important.

“We take great pride in being able to provide our customers with extensive irrigation options and Perrot only adds to our range of best-in-class irrigation solutions. They are powerful sprinklers with great range and accuracy, and are well made, with high quality brass inserts which don’t corrode.”

In addition to those selling points, there’s also the fact that they boast a casting range of up to 54m and their systems are expandable and flexible. Nothing, however, is quite as flexible as the Rollcar, which has no fixed installation and can be rolled to apply water economically and cost-effectively wherever it is needed.

When it comes to synthetic turf, the VP3 provides uniform irrigation from the perimeter, cools down the surface and improves playability and speed, so whatever association mandates are in place, Perrot will cover them.

And there’s no need to worry about the water quality, Perrot can irrigate with almost any water quality, whether it be rainwater or greywater.

Fulfil grant commitments by collecting tree shelters

Fulfil grant commitments by collecting tree shelters: Tubex has launched the 2024 season of its Tree Shelter Collection and Recycling Programme, calling on all who use tree shelters to ‘fulfil your commitment to the land.’

Many recent grants, such as the England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO), make collection a requirement, stating that landowners must “remove and dispose of tree guards in an appropriate manner when no longer required, and by year 15 in all cases.”

As such, the removal of used tree shelters is a collective responsibility. Tubex is investing heavily in the scheme to provide tree planters with a convenient platform to facilitate the responsible removal and recycling of their shelters.

Now in its third year, Tubex’s Collection and Recycling Programme recycled over 350,000 shelters last year with the material used to manufacture new shelters, with collection and recycling representing the lowest impact option when tree shelters are used*.

With the ability to bring collected shelters to more than 15 hubs around the UK free of charge, or alternatively, to book a doorstep collection for a small fee, landowners have plenty of options to ensure they can sustainably dispose of shelters.

The Tubex Tree Shelter Collection and Recycling Programme currently accepts used polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE) tree shelters or mesh tubes from all manufacturers.

“Essentially, we’re asking stakeholders to uphold your promise to protect the environment, regardless of whether this is mandated by your grant or simply a desire to do the right thing by ensuring shelters aren’t left in the environment,” said James Taylor, Product Line Director at Tubex.

“The hub network has been made possible thanks to collaboration with our valued partners, who have provided the use of their time and facilities. We are delighted to see this level of ‘buy-in’ from a wide range of organisations who are committed to making a positive impact.”

These hub partners include Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, Tilhill, Maydencroft, British Hardwood Tree Nursery, and Green-Tech.

“We have plenty of dates throughout the summer and we hope to increase the number of hubs nationwide, so please check the interactive map for the latest details,” confirmed James Taylor. “The more people who can collect shelters or open new hubs, the bigger and more positive the impact we can make as a sustainably-minded community.”

Modry Las celebrates 15th anniversary

Modry Las celebrates 15th anniversary: Modry Las, Poland’s award-winning golf course and one of Europe’s leading golf resorts, is rolling out the red carpet by hosting a series of international events to celebrate its opening in 2009 by its designer Gary Player.

Seven-times winner at the World Golf Awards, Modry Las Golf Resort, The PGA National Poland, is set to welcome golfers from around the world, open new Garden Suites accommodation and offer a summer of events.

The resort has grown over the years to 27 holes with private luxury homes spotted discreetly around the resort. And now, after completing the finishing touches to its impressive clubhouse/hotel and upgrading its irrigation system; an investment designed to elevate Poland’s only signature golf course even further, the world-class resort is about to unveil six new garden suites as part of the festivities.

“Every year is a milestone,” noted Arthur Gromadzki, chairman of Modry Las, “but our 15th seems special because of what we have achieved in a relatively short space of time. It gives us an opportunity to look back and appreciate how far we have come. To think Modry Las is now a Top 100 European course and part of a distinguished collection of the world’s leading golf resorts as a PGA National-branded property is staggering. There’s a lot to be proud of, and a lot to celebrate.”

The summer of festivities will include the International Polish Championships from June 7-9. To mark the official birthday, green fees on July 3, 2024 will be slashed to Euros 35 (150 PLN) and include an evening barbecue to welcome all golfers. On Saturday July 20, the resort will throw a gala dinner with music and dancing in its restaurant, followed by the Polish Classic Tournament the following day. And to mark the celebrations, the doors at Modry Las will be opened to dignitaries from around Europe during a special invite-only event for ambassadors from European embassies on August 11-13.

“We want to share our birthday with the widest possible range of golfers, from the best in the country to those who are just falling in love with the game,” said Gromadzki. “I think it is important that Modry Las welcomes the finest players, European dignitaries and sports fans of all kinds particularly as we celebrate such an important stage in our development.”

Recently, Modry Las was included in the latest Top 100 listing published by the UK magazine Golf World. According to the ranking’s editor, the list was all about “getting the highest level of quality for your money”, said Chris Bertram. “Poland has quality golf as well as being well priced. You’ll be absolutely staggered at how good [Modry Las] is.”

Modry Las is a 27-hole facility with a 2,000m2 clubhouse, a restaurant for over 70 covers, a conference venue and fully equipped spa.
